Dude the guy is basically the combined version of Freeza and Cell. Even his LOOKS suggest it.... The ants are even Android like, and the King is basically Cell in the way he can "eat to become stronger" as Cell "absorbed people with his tail" to get stronger. Oh both have the same tail =O

One-sided fights can be epic too, but I see where you are coming from. Uvo was really cool, I really like Machi (the pink haired girl xD) and Nobunaga too, not so much of a Chrollo fan actually. Never understood the Feitan hype either, but many like him. Not sure about Kalluto, or how strong he actually is. Then again there might be other advantages to him, who knows. Shalnark isn't the strongest fighter either (blond haired dude) but his abilities besides that are pretty useful.

Regarding Gon owning Kurapika.... not sure, considering "only" Chain Jail can't be used against anyone but the Spiders. He still can use everything else, though Judgement Chain would be rather useless without Chain Jail. I would say he's still damn strong as long as it's a one vs one fight, if he fights again multiple strong foes it gets difficult though, considering Emperor Time can only be activated for a short amount of time and he's pretty much out of it afterwards.

Kalluto is a dude!? WTF. Thinking about it the name does sound male... And the voice was kind of male'ish which made me a little "huh...?", but WTF. That family is so fucking weird dude. Going on wikipedia it says all of the children are male, even Alluka. But it says Killua refers to him as "his sister". WHY ARE THEY LOOKING LIKE GIRLS, BUT ARE MALE!?!?! So disturbing wtf!! Does Alluka have a male voice too? O_o

Well Feitan just "looks cool" I guess, and is kind of "stone cold". Nothing really unique about him.

Kurapika hasn't been once in this arc, the rejoice! Neither has Leorio though.... Man I feel the dynamic group of these 4 has kind of been lacking in the past two arcs. But I guess especially Leorio has no place in these arcs anyway... Too weak. Kurapika could be useful, but I guess it ties in with a faction or whatever in the Hunter Association WANTING the mission to fail. I was really curious why they wouldn't send more high level hunters, and especially why they sent childs like Gon and Killua. I thought it was rather "plot hole/stupid" for a while, until those two pro hunters talked about the vice-president or whatever wanting the mission to fail and the Chairman knows he's being "set up". Really glad there's more depth to the events, which makes the storytelling very good here.

I just find the looks pretty obvious xD He kind of resembles Cell in terms of his "look style", with all the different green etc colors and the weirdness of his "texture". The tail is super obvious. He eats to get stronger instead of absorbing with his tail. He was "created" by "feeding him with powerful ingredients". The main difference here is he was born with epic power and doesn't have to "evolve". I think it's a pretty obvious inspiration though. It's not a bad thing... Frieza is more about his actualy body BUILD and the "helmet" kind of makes him look the same, though Cell also had a "helmet" sort of. He's also kind of similar in terms of his evil/ruthless nature, but that's more generic.

Dunno, Togashi likes ambiguity when it comes to gender I guess Alluka has a female voice though, and to me she's clearly female. Discussing Alluka now is too early though, we can talk about that once you reach the specific arc.

Kurapika wouldn't even care, he only cares about getting the eyes back and having his revenge on the Spiders. Guess he might've helped Gon and Killua, maybe. Like you said though, the mission is more or less top secret and the vice-chairman has his own goals and... well there's even more to it, but that comes way later. Personally I never thought that there were any noticeable plotholes in Hunter x Hunter. How you do you like the Nen system now btw?

To me the mission's participants would've been a pretty big question mark if not for the hidden hunter association plot that was explained. When the participants are so clearly outclassed it was just incredibly weird. When the Chairman was said to be no match for even a Royal Guard and he's like "Man I'm less than 50% of my previous power xD", you'd think they'd send in some other current generation super hunters, but because of the hunter association side plot which I suppose ties in with the election arc later, it kind of makes sense.

The Nen system is pretty cool I guess. Everyone develops their own signature move which they just "decide on developing", but the way they use aura is pretty cool I guess. At least HxH uses a good method of making sense of aura increase/power level. For example when Bisky made Gon and Killua maintain their aura for hours to increase it's power and the easiness of using Nen. I like how they have to learn to control it "delicately" in the sense of increasing defense or offense in certain areas etc, and then they become vulnerable elsewhere etc, which is a good way of creating "balance" in the form of risk.

Well Netero was kind of... going a bit too far there, simply saying he's not in top match and he doesn't know if he's even a match for the Royal Guards. I will leave it at that, but in terms of strength/power there should hardly be anyone stronger than Netero. Not like it matters too much though, you can beat pretty much everyone in HxH with a good strategy. No doubt they would've send more really strong Hunters normally though.

That's never been confirmed, it's just an assumption 99% of the fandom made and thus turned into some kind of vague truth everyone believes in. I would be impressed how you nailed that if I hadn't heard about that 200 times by now

I didn't read it, I just searched him because I was curious whom his voice actor was. It sounded so familiar and I couldn't put my finger on where I had heard the voice before. So I wiki'd him and saw "Appearance" and it was pretty much the first sentence.

In the end though his VA had no voice I had heard before.... LOL.

In any case it's obvious to me. Comparing it to chakra is kind of... I don't know. The only difference really is that in HxH they visually increase power somewhere etc, while in Nardo they just "put more chakra into the punch" since chakra is normally not visible as a "shroud". In terms of "putting X power into a technique" etc it's pretty similar, there being affinities and all that too is similar to Nen types. The Aura being visible kind of changes how HxH approaches battles, since it becomes more to "discuss" in battle.

Do you see Shalnark going SSJ confirmed somewhere? I mean not to be rude or anything, but noticing something obvious like "Wow Meruem looks like Cell and a bit like Freeza!" is pretty damn easy, Togashi never confirmed stuff like that. Maybe he said in an interview that he's been inspired by DB in some sense, but god knows how old his last interview is x'D

Well I would say that the affinities and whatnot play a way more important role, because if you know what type he is that helps you quite a lot. Uvo lost because he got confused about Kurapika's type too and it's way harder to figure out than "Okay guy is using fire, I will use water". Then there's stuff like Gyo/Ko and Ten/Ren/Zetsu. So to me Nen is more cleverly devised than Chakra, even if they have similarities.

Yeah newer big work are full of inspirational nods and direct tributes to their "idols". In Naruto for example the DEAD OBVIOUS one is the 4-Tails being named fucking Son Goku xD Then Naruto's signature move Rasengan is inspired by Goku's Genkidama. Both of Goku's and Naruto's masters respectively were the turtle hermit and toad hermit. Both taught their students their signature moves: Kamehameha and Rasengan. There's a ton more and the authors don't have to confirm every one of them xD

Nah, I'm not mad or aggro at all, that was a misunderstanding. I kind of jokingly brought up "don't compare them!" and for some reason it went all serious from there. Don't really care, was just saying XD Don't put all HxH in the same pot, there are many reasonable fans as well. It's the same as saying Naruto fans are all shit and whatnot, such comments simply prove that you don't really know about the fanbase. You have fun and annoying guys everywhere.
