Who's the 4th? I've got Roger, Ace and Luffy. For the life of me I can't think of a 4th one. I know people like Garp, Dragon and Xebec haven't been confirmed in the manga or additional material, for the first two it's likely because Oda is saving it for the story or something.

Pretty sure Luffy won't be only one with COC at EOS as there be members in his crew to unlock it as well. They going to unlock later from how it looks as it be weird for Roger to have many COCs under his belt while Luffy have none under his. Sanji, Zoro, Usopp, and Jimbei are more likely to obtain it and if the 'Oden' of the crew being Yamato if she does joins, he/she be added to the list too.

Oh btw, since it's confirmed Kidd is one of the COCs and being major rival to Luffy, do everyone thinks Law also has COC given the fact being major rival to Luffy and Kidd shown by Oda's portrayal and plus being one of the infamous 'D.' Bloodline? I think it's a given since him and Kidd are potentially going to be Luffy's Major Pirate Rivals to PK Throne like Roger with Whitebeard and Shiki.

Dunno, to me it seems unlikely law and kidd have me kept up with luffy strength wise. There was a very substantial difference between law and luffy back at dressrosa and the gap seems to have widened over time considering the sheer edge gear 4 is for luffy along with his haki boosts. Granted that they are supposed to be rivals for luffy but while luffy gathered an armada kidd was getting his ass k of kicked by kaido... in the pk race luffy simply has an overwhelming over his non yonko competitors.

While Blackbeard, Dragon or Xebec have not been confirmed, of course they do too.
Based on what? And why not Garp as well?

I don't get why some of you are expecting Zoro and/or Sanji to get CoC. They all trained for two years, if they were part of the few with it they would have awakened it already IMO. Neither have shown that they are particularly charismatic either.

Only SHs who were leaders before joining are Franky and Jinbei. The latter doesn't have it and the former isn't a Haki user. Maybe Yamato will join but I don't expect her to have CoO. I can see Momo having it though, but not Hiyori.
You can't train CoC, and it only comes out under duress or stress, like when Luffy was trying to stop one of the Boa sisters from breaking whats-her-name's statue and killing her. Sanji's charismatic enough to win over Viola and Pudding, as well as the soldiers on Punk Hazard. Zoro... I'm not sure, but he definitely has willpower for CoC. However, I don't think they've been put in such a stressful situation that they'd need CoC the way Luffy did (stopping enemies) or that it'd work.

Wonder why WHitebeard or Sengoku didn't attempt to use CoC or use it more often during the war. If nothing else, it could whittle down enemies a bit.

If Law was supposed to have CoC I think it would have been revealed during the Dressrosa arc along with the D reveal so I don't think he has it.
True, but could have his reasons on why especially he rather deal fodders effectly more with his powers since hax after all, but I find it hard to believe Law won't have it given how Oda treat him even to make him one of the rare 'D.' in the series.

Quite a given for Sanji and Zoro to have it given they have some of traits to have COC like you stated from leadership, will-power, and so on. We probably see them awaken down the line like how Usopp awaken COO during time of crisis which could make sense on them.

Could because WB and SG like to show off their powers or give challenge to try out their powers on fodders, but then again even with COC, it won't knock out everyone as notable named characters will still be up and about, so Idk it do much unless is there another lvl of COC like COO and COA which takes more to use than them?

Wish we knew how others were able to activate their CoC. I really do hope Garp has it though, given everything.

I don't think Sengoku was fighting that he needed to show off his power, and the goal was to execute Ace. Having so many enemies could reduce that possibility.

I know, hence "if nothing else." SOme characters were knocked out by Luffy's CoC, so why wouldn't they be knocked out by two proficient CoC users?

And talking about taking CoC, I'm also curious to see if there's any level of CoC that could knock out Luffy or affect him as he was after Thriller Bark. I don't think it's possible, but maybe there's an extremely high level of CoC that only handful of users have been able to achieve. Luffy's willpower and self-confidence even post-Thriller Bark but pre time-skip should make it nearly impossible to affect him.

Well, even in Sabaody the Supernova were able to resist Rayleigh's CoC, although that could have been just a "low-calliber CoC" since his opponents were absolute fodder. Given Rayleigh's strength and power, he might be capable of much more. Like the way Shanks knocked out Whitebeard's newbies just by walking among them oozing some CoC but without any real effort.

However the strongest a person gets, the more they resist CoC. If someone was able to knock out Luffy now with only CoC it would be just too overpowered for how late into the adventure we are.

I don't know if Rayleigh can use an extremely high level of CoC, but I don't think he put too much oomph behind it.

I was talking about pre-timeskip Luffy after Thriller Bark. I don't think he was at a high level at the time, but he was still strong-willed and all, hence the curiosity. The Luffy now should be able to withstand any CoC, hopefully.

Considering the similarities in how we saw Ace, Luffy and DD activate theirs, I'd say a traumatic and dangerous situation is what leads to those having CoC to activate it.

The use of Haki in general pre-timeskip (by characters we know to have them) is very inconsistent. For all intents and purposes there's no reason why Sengoku wouldn't use his haki then or Luffy getting to the platform really, but I digress.

Good question actually. I want to say he'd withstand even the strongest CoC at that point. At worst, he might be put to his knees but not knocked unconscious.

No, there's no CoC that could knock out Luffy at that point.

In Marineford, all moderately high-ranking Marines were summoned. As a result, Whitebeard never had the chance of using CoC in the war.

Based on nothing. It's just that of course Blackbeard and the others have CoC.

Dunno about Garp. It may not even matter if Garp has it or not.

There is no characteristic that guarantees CoC, not even overwhelming willpower since people like Chinjao and Ace had CoC while their willpower is nothing...
It is completely up to Oda's whim whether a certain character will have it or not.

Yep, and so far, we haven't really seen Sanji and ZOro be in that situation where CoC would be useful, have we? The three you named activated their CoC against weaker-willed opponents to knock them out before they could do more damage, but S & Z haven't been in that situation as far as I know. Closest was against a Pacifista?

Yep, especially when it makes sense to reduce the amount of enemies, no matter how little. Plus, Luffy could have been slowed down for a sec, which could have made a difference.

Yeah, probably. Luffy is one of the few who could withstand almost any CoC.

Could be.

So were low-tiered Marines that were knocked out by Luffy's CoC.

Oh so it's an assumption?

I feel when Sanji and Zoro unlock COC it be mixture of badass moment while comical one as knowing Oda, he would make it happen at same time they unlock it and push more on their rivalry they have especially a competition on who's COC knock out the most guys around which is possibility. Could happen during their fights when fighting against YC lvl opponents this arc or later stronger foes as like Rayleigh said, the harder the fights, the stronger your Haki grows, so can make sense of how their COCs could be unlock to later.

The first time we saw Luffy use it was against Motobaro (please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm trying to remember its use chronologically. Correcting myself from previous post) and that's the only one of the 3 where I'd say it was a weaker opponent. Ace's life and that of Luffy were in danger at the time he used it, and so was Doflamingo. But I guess the first signficant time Luffy used it was against the Boa sisters where his life wasn't in danger but Marguerite's was.

That would probably be the standout scenario pre-timeskip, wherein if they were to activate it, it'd have been then. Dunno how useful it would have been against the Pacifista though.

Neither of them need it for their goals but I think Zoro has better disposition to discover and learn it. He has displayed the willpower, indomitable spirit and can already intimidate opponents on the battlefield. But as I said, I don't think it's a necessity.

I see why people want him to have it( and Sanji) because of the parallels between SHs and Roger's crew but the latter themselves are quite a special case in having 2 CoC users. There's only one current crew we know that has 2, which is Big Mom's with Katakuri being the other. Roger only had 3 because Oden was already a powerful and strong minded individual, he showed a lot of the traits we commonly see in CoC users.

As for Rayleigh, him having CoC was for more about Luffy needing to learn the concept of haki from someone who was already profficient in it, as there was a gulf in strength between him and his elite enemies (as seen with Magellan and those he encountered in Marineford) and also for us to make the connections between all those inexplicable moments where characters were knocked out with physical damage.

We've naturally made that connection because as fans we consider Zoro to be the no2, so we project those similiarities.

CoC is different though, it depends on willpower, and it can't be trained, which I assume extends to fights as well.

I'm not sure if that's possible unless they choose a direction/area, as there'd be no way to tell who knocked out the most enemy.

Is that confirmed? Motobaro calmed down, but he was still conscious, or am I recalling that incorrectly? But yeah, as you said, traumatic and dangerous situations likely awaken haki, and for Luffy, Marguerite's possible death was dangerous enough for him. Ace protected Dadan while Luffy protected Marguerite and Ace. I think Ace and Luffy unconsciously used their CoC to protect others while Doflamingo did it to protect himself? I'm not sure if that says anything though.

I don't think it'd have done anything against the Pacifista, as they seem to be emotionless robots, though I think Whitebeard had the strength with his CoC to do something to them.

Sanji and Zoro's goals are also to help Luffy become the Pirate King, and Zoro was willing to give up on his dream of being the World's Strongest Swordsman to ensure Kuma wouldn't kill and take Luffy. They both likely do need CoC given the level and amount of enemies they'll be up against. It's also not just because of parallels between the two crews, but because it'd be cool to see Zoro and Sanji have that kind of power, especially given the challenges that lie ahead. I'm thinking Raftel will be difficult, as well as the aftermath.

Yep, and it helps that Zoro's shown criteria for being able to use CoC, like scaring Monet shitless.

It could happen since knowing Oda he doesn't give out who is better in rivalry as he loves pushing them out from fighting to verbal to bounties and more. Them getting COC especially same time be just that as no doubt they fight about who can knock out the most with their respective COCs and do agree what you said about why Sanji and Zoro will and possible have it given what they going through their journey to help Luffy be PK and also achieving their dreams, but not being afraid of sacrificing themselves for helping their Captain as well.

You mean Motobaro? after Luffy intimidated him, he turned away and then fainted, frothing at the mouth as they usually do (ch495). I think the Doflamingo one happened when he and his family were being hanged from a building, again someone can correct me since it's been a while.
All 3 of their first uses were subconsciously, as they never knew they had it and were desperate (except Luffy's first use). He really spoke to Motobaro to get him to stop but I don't think he was expecting that outcome.

They might be emotionless but they still have human parts to them. I don't know really, you might be right.

If it's just to look cool then sure Oda could give them that and fans would enjoy that. If it's for fighting prowess, it's more important for them to strength their CoO and CoA, considering the level of enemies they have to face in the NW, if Luffy is fighting Emperors and potentially Admirals.

Yeah that and he also just has a natural commanding presence.

Yeah, I don't remember what happened, but I keep remembering that Moto calmed down, smiled, and got friendly with Luffy. In Doflamingo's case, I think the mob was close to killing the trio, and he either got so scared or pissed off that he knocked them out. I feel like the way they first use their CoC says a lot about them, so it'd be interesting to see how most CoC users were able to use their CoC for the first time.

They do? I thought Pacifistas were primarily robots, and that only Kuma was a human or still had human parts remaining.

I agree, but I still think CoC is important because of the level of enemies, and Sanji and Zoro being the primary fighters of the crew other than the captain. But then again, it probably depends on if their enemies will have CoC as well, which I hope is still rare.

Realistically speaking the only reason for the strawhats to have more COC users in the main crew is for them to better parallel other legendary pirate crews. At this point it wouldn't be weird if all yonko level crews had at least 2 COC users though it remains to be seen if even most of them do. Still, its not a stretch that king, marco, beckham or whoever is BB's number 2 also have it. Then again, we don't know if BB has it...

IIRC it has been said that pacisfista can bleed... And judge, who made a clone army, has a connection to vegapunk as well. It's not a stretch that vegapunk would have made clones which he then further improved via turning them into cyborgs...
