But majority of the population is chinese, so mandarin is quite common as well. Hokkien is more of a dialect and mostly spoken among those within the same dialect groups. Examples of dialects are Cantonese, Hakka, Hainanese, Teochew etc. Anyway, a handful of the malays here do speak in malay but bahasa indonesian is hardly used here.
