Nature is spontaneous--which is why is randomly popped up on the beach, and starting eating animals.

The how and why?? might be explained when we visit the dark continent, since perhaps there is a tilt in the food chain on the dark continent; therefore the queen decided to flee. Maybe the climate was too harsh as well.

I picture the dark continent as a place with volcanos, sand/thunder storms, dark smoke that covers the sky; or similar to the hellish places that were shown in yu yu hakusho.

When someone enter the DC, something bad happen for humanity, its written on the ancient artifact, its seem fishy to me for why the Queen can come to the Human World, thats must be something happen before

the world will be endangered if the people go back and forth from dark continent to regular world. I think they will make a rule that once you go there you can't come back. There will be this idea of quarantine--which will prevent these dark continent species from getting to the normal world. Take the chimera ant arc for example, in such a small area, they were able to turn thousands of humans to monsters at a super fast rate. So I'm sure the effects of the dark continent will be way worse, in terms of endangering the human race, since there are probably an array of species that can use humans as host, or change the make-up of humans entirely.

The ant queen was probably brought to the human world by Pariston. He did say he liked creating problems for the Chairman. I think he knew it would come to the Chairman losing his life, and the Beyond would be on the move

I know this sounds weird, but what if gon and the others are actually like smurfs lol what if they are the real prey? Plus, togashi can make the argument that the chimera ants were the size of the humans of the hunter hunter world.
The dark continent looks 100x larger than the regular continents.

I think the dark continent will be something like the jungle where you always have to be constant alert. A mosquito is weaker than a human but it can spread disease and kill them.

I'm thinking it's gonna be a lot like Swindler's Swamp. The strong don't necessarily survive
if they're easily fooled. But you can't be weak either. The Dark Continent will require
all the skills of a hunter. There is no "king" in the Dark Continent. Everything consumes
everything. It will be a vicious cycle.

There has to be a king. The Chimera Ants came from the DC right?

I want to see more phantom troupe which is why I hope they go there to find a treasure or something.

I, too, think that Alluka is connected to the dark continent--which wouldn't be surprising considering the strange things the zoldycks have... like the dragon Zeno was using.

I hope gon explores nen a bit more, since I don't like his enhancer skills... for me it seems way too similar to yu yu hakusho, plus it is slow and looks lame in comparison to killua's lightening abilities.

Jajanken is already good. It provides a good close-mid range attack. Also the slow charge time means more aura is used for attacks and it fits well with Gon's simplistic personality. IMO everything looks slow when compared to Killua's lightning thing. I agree though that Gon needs to train with the other aspects of nen.

My only problem with the latest manga chapters is that the zodiac members and many other new characters look reallllly weird and remind me of One Piece, which I'm not a fan of really. Knuckle, Shoot, Knov, Morelle, etc all looked awesome, but these new ones look weird as hell.

At least the Zodiacs weren't born that way unlike some of Oda's more bizarre characters like Trebol or Cesar Clown. They just had a little work done on their appearances.

They were less worthy fighting tham Illumi was, and he clearly said it was a letdown. He didn't meet Gin though.

That was Hisoka being an ass as usual. Of course fighting Illumi would be better since he is his friend and somehow would be more fun to kill. Somewhere in his sick mind I think he gets off on stuff like that.

I'm pretty sure the phantom troupe will appear soon. Theres no way in hell Togashi will put them off even longer. We barely saw them in the greed island arc, and they got a short amount of content defending Meteor City during the Chimera Ant arc... I'm sure Chrollo is interested in stealing something epic from the dark continent .... and the environment and amount of people that have died makes me thing the troupe would LOVE to venture there.

My thought about the queen is that she fled from the DC taking heavy damage to her body. I believe there are still some chimera ants on the DC but they are still normal ant size.
The reason why our Queen had to flee is because her swarm ate one of those Hunters from an earlier expedition (The Queen said at some point that she had Human DNA in her body).
After eating him their next generation turned out to be human sized or over many generations they got bigger and bigger because of that, but at some point they just were to big and fell more easily prey to the other creatures living there.

Becoming more human-like killed them on the Dark Continent.

The many suns theory could fit it. I dont't know about the faster movement... Also if the known continent is placed near the equator line, there wouldn't be a way to explain why the whole (known) world is always faced to the sun at the same time. It is more likely that it is placed near the poles.

Well, is there even proof that they are living on a planet? For instance, there are those giant worldtrees... if the planet rotates, wouldnt they knock away other planets or crush them?

So i believe its not a planet they are living on... its a plane. And maybe there are different layers and the worldtrees grow through them... but I guess all this is offtopic... no wait... I predict it will get revealed in the next chapter ^^

It is not offtopic. Imo it is a way to measure whether this DC arc is something well-thought beforehand or just a plot feature created to extend the story. Although I cant see a reason for him wanting to extend the story with his workrate
