Re: DGM Hang Out Thread - Part 1
Since DGM won't have a chapter this month (and maybe next month), the Hiatus thread is now opened.

Can you please translate all of it? I know it's hard because a lot of kanji was missin but I really want to know exactly what it saidIt says there's no DGM in the current issue (and apologies for that) AND that it's unknown when there will be a new DGM chapter. (In other words, they don't know if DGM will appear in the next issue or the one after that etc.)
I actually do have a huge anime list, its just that I find myself in a really strange dilemma as it concerns my top favorite current ongoing series. They all suffer from some external problems (with the exception of shingeki no kyojin). To top it all off, d gray man just so happens to be a personal fave. You're right though, perhaps I should try finishing up some really good titles that I didn't get to finish (curse you school).^_^ Quite understandable because you're not a big fan of mecha anime. Neither am I, however, I don't judge an anime by how the characters and designs look. I just judge it by a story. The story carries the most weight compared to the animation and everything else. The art may look generic, which is expected of most mecha anime (esp. from Sunrise), but it's what's inside the art that counts the most. I don't look for anything that's "pretty". So, like any unknown piece of information, I just simply view it without much input on it.
Since Hoshino worked on it, I'm gonna give it a shot. Since we don't know when she'll continue DGM (for at least, 2 months), it's better to do something than just sit there and be all mopey/complaining about a lack of DGM. Furthermore, I have other manga series that I'm following so DGM's just one of those that requires extra patience. (And one of these manga series happens to be bi-monthly. HEH.) I'm okay being one of the more positive patient people in this forum. All good things come to those who wait, so wait, I shall. I'd rather have a story than no story at all. If she needs this amount of time to finish up the character designs and a possible Miracle Jump one-shot, then, so be it. She'll be back for sure, like a hero who went on a grand epic adventure....
Capricorn, I recommend you build up a huge mega manga (and anime) reading list. That way, you won't be strained over Hoshino's irregular release structure. Time really goes by fast when you don't wait/worry for something.Let time fix itself. (Millennium Earl not included.)
The JumpSQ note is the closest we'll get to an official announcement of an unstated hiatus. The 2ch poster, Bumi-chan, said this issue and the next one. So, I'll trust his/her words for the most part. At least, until the anime (and MJ cover art) comes out. Then, we'll see.

It seems volume 24 will be published in May if there is no delay.ぶみ[] : 投稿日:2013/03/02 07:22:35 ID:H+W5A8y5 [1/2回]

I'd love to take a shot at this, myself, as a continuous form of practice, but I'm going to sleep after this. I'm sure Verd (or any of our other great translators) can hopefully pitch in.

I see. DGM is also a personal fave, but I always leave room open for other manga to follow. It's a good thing that there are other stories going on right now, and new ones keep popping up once in awhile. Which reminds me, the spring anime season is coming up so you may find something interesting to watch when they show up.I actually do have a huge anime list, its just that I find myself in a really strange dilemma as it concerns my top favorite current ongoing series. I really hope this manga does well, I just think its so unfair that this has to happen to her of all people. Oh well back to the drawing board.
Don't lose hope at any cost. You definitely should check out manga/anime that you haven't finished yet, and try to discover ones you never read/watched before. There's not much we can do to help Hoshino except to wait patiently. (Looking forward to buying #24 when Viz cranks it out.)
This is all you really have to know out of this blog: 5月2日(木)のラインナップにようやく『D.Gray-man 24』が登場しました。It seems that this site know something about vol.24 But I can't read Japanese
Sorry, but just reading this makes me cringe. It's disrespectful to all the other manga-ka who try their best to please their fans by working on movies, the anime, drawing volume covers and magazine color pages, correcting mistakes for the volume and so on. All that while publishing their manga weekly. She's one busy lady. #_#

In what way was it disrespectful? I'm being honest here saying she's busy, because she's doing all of that on top of dealing with an arthritis wrist. No other mangaka, to my knowledge, has arthritis. Especially, the weekly ones. (And among all current working mangaka, I'd say Hoshino is probably one of the most busiest one of them all, even if she's not doing her normal DGM release routine.Sorry, but just reading this makes me cringe. This hiatus makes dropping DGM easier. Really, I used to love this manga.

They don't exist just to please you, but also me and everyone else out there. So, if you do drop DGM, that's fine. It's your choice. I'm on the patient reader side, and will definitely support Hoshino in whatever she has to do to get it done. ^___^ Yep.

I think nobody here is being disrespectful at all, we all love Hoshinos work or we wouldn't be reading/posting on this forum. There is a clear difference in expectations though. And while some may feel annoyed by the lack of release others may simply accept it. However i feel there is concern, when a mangaka doesn't deliver its a serious issue for the publisher no matter how much you like someone or how good the previous work was. Its happened before that artists get dropped due to lack of ratings or other issues God knows what.Well said! I'd say its more disrespectful to assume that Hoshino isn't working her hardest.
