Re: DGM Hang Out Thread - Part 1
and look at the amazing pixiv art (especially of Mana and Neah).
Before I start my rant... I want you to know that I want to be proven wrong.
You know I never quite understood that. As fans, we know pretty much nothing about Neah or Mana. Like in the series they discuss them a lot but we've only just met Neah. (and not a very good first impression, attacking Allen's friends, and ordering Timcanpy to help make sure Allen disappears.) I honestly can't help but resent Neah because he's threatening Allen's existence and he sabotaged Allen's relationship with Mana. Like I keep feeling like Allen doesn't actually own anything for himself.
For example:
-His own name has become some kind of code name. Like its something given to the host to signal that they're the sacrifice.
-His special relationship with Mana...
Allen was just some kind of substitute for Mana's brother. In the Reverse Novel Mana nearly injures himself freaking about finding his brother and ignores all of Allen's(Red's) pleads. Mana seems to ignore Allen's(Red's) words throughout the Novel... like whenever he and Allen(Red) had a discussion it seems like it wouldn't have made a difference to Mana whether Allen(Red) was a wall or an actual child. This is extra heartbreaking because to me its seems like Allen has built his entire life to revolve around Mana's will.
-His relationship with Cross...
now I know that Cross Marian cares for Allen. But that's only because of Neah. For example in the Reverse Novel... Cross only shows interest in Allen(Red) when he believed that the boy was Allen. When Red doesn't respond Cross tells him to stay the hell away from Mana. Now if Allen actually listened... he would continued to live as some random street orphan and Cross wouldn't have even batted an eye. .... I know Cross's cares for Allen now, but that was an accident. I'm sure Cross tried his best to not care. ... what breaks my heart though, is that after Cross showed he cared, he still wants Allen to become a sacrifice for Neah. Yeah, I know Cross is upset by it and all but apparently not enough to try to stop it. (maybe there is no way to stop the process and Cross has made his condolences with that fact... maybe).
-His relationship with Timcanpy...
Its no secret that Tim and Allen are really close. like SUPER close. They do everything together: eat, bath, fight together, get imprisoned together, become fugitives etc...
Now I don't know how close Neah and Tim are... but its still sad that as soon as Neah awakens he asks Tim to betray Allen (y'know by making sure that Allen disappears). and now Tim's dead... thanks Neah. (sarcasm
maybe?)
Now I suppose its only fair for me to point out what Allen does own.
Crown Clown is innocence that belongs to Allen and only Allen.
Allen's relationship with most of his friends at The Order is something that only belongs to Allen. (Too bad Neah awakening made sure that he couldn't live them anymore and has made them 'official' enemies.)
My rant's almost over... (
SO SORRY!)
in the end what I'm trying to say... it just seems like Neah ruined Allen's life. (or made sure that Allen would never have a nice one) and seems like he's going to make Allen do everything he's opposed to: becoming the Earl, killing people, and hurting the only people that belong to Allen.
Anyway I hope you can prove me wrong. I really don't want to resent Neah.
