Discussion Does Davy Jones exist in One Piece?

My prediction: he has ties with the ancient kingdom. Like the king/emperor, who fought the now WG and lost. Maybe the one who inherited his later generations the will of D was him. Davy D Jones xD

But most likely he was the first pirate.


Anyway, he is definitely dead and a past legend.

Haha, I'd like some explanation for those things, if it turns out that Davy Jones is a guy who can control sea kings, I could see that as a possibility.

I doubt he is a Yonkou, all of them have been named, and I don't think Kaidou or Big mom could be Davy Jones. It's more than likely he is a fishman, since he was described by Robin as an ancient pirate who lives under the sea.

Yeah, I think it's rather logical if he is a merman. So it is possible for him to control Sea Kings and to chalenge Straw Hats to improve their strength.

IMHO; people can name you as a Yonkou if you have any lands or territories under your protection, like the example with WB and Kaidou. On the other hand, DJ does not have any lands. Why?

I don't want EVERYTHING to connect back to the Ancient Kingdom/void century, etc. Some myths/legends *in the OP World* like Davy Jones should have a different kind of history/context imo.

Atm, I don't think Davy Jones is alive. I think he left an important and respectable milestone for future pirates to develop/progress further. I say he was known for a particular "tradition/culture" (this includes the Davy Back game) and has become a valuable sentiment to all pirates in the OP world today (whether or not they care is up to them though).

I think Oda will refer to Davy Jones again in the future. Maybe, we'll get a hint or something during the Fishmen Island Arc.

In that fact that Davy Jones life on the ground of the Sea and called devil god or saint. Then is Jimbei Davy Jones. Also that he look like Davy Jones, in Pirate of the karibbian as a fishmen. So why should not Jimbei Davy Jones. Seagrave of the Pirate is fishmens paradise. . That is one Way to see it.


Possible he exist, we dont see a pirate die in open Sea. That Davy Jones must arrive. But i don´t believe that he will shown in One Piece.

Until now we saw many pirates myths been used by Oda in One Piece like the spirit Klabautermann, The Blue Phoenix, The Florian Triangle, Women Island and Fishmen. So, maybe DJ is no different..

That was Captain John, whom Buggy is searching the treasure. He was one of Moria's zombies. And that's why Luffy got the map from Moria's treasure pile.

As for Captain John - Yes. He was one of the General Zombies commanded by Absalom and was obviously modified by Doctor Hogback. Here's the chapter link.

Hmm, I'm reading up on Davy Jones' Locker on Wiki and it says that "Davy Jones" is a term used for the devil, saint or god of the sea. If that's indeed true, then it's safe to say that the Pirate King IS Davy Jones, which means Gol D. Roger WAS Davy Jones and One Piece is his Locker. I know that's straying off from the legend, since the Locker is supposed to be the bottom of the sea, but perhaps Oda isn't going with the story 100% and just using some parts of it (as he does with many places/people he bases his chars on).

i like it but maybe the raftel is the locker and one piece is on that locker (raftel)

or maybe DJ is the one guarding raftel or even one piece
