As yet with the character designs I get it’s his style, but it’s hard not to look at them and think ‘Natsu’ or ‘Wendy’ or ‘Evergreen’ or ‘Erza’ - many of the designs are just too close to what’s gone before - I’m hoping seeing them in context will amend this, though if posture is any indicator of personality, the (presumable) MC (Natsu with Gray’s hair) is going to be a very similar gung-ho fistfighter. Unfortunately Mashima isn’t great at complex characters and tends to stick somewhat to stereotypes... as likeable as the characters in FT are, there’s only so many character archetypes to choose from before you have to start repeating them, if you are unable to create more complex/ subtly nuanced ones (and Mashima so far has shown zero evidence he can do this). As much as simpler is sometimes better, some variety and depth is necessary to keep things from getting stale. After the pretty disasterous finale to FT I’m hoping he will re-find his mojo for creating interesting storylines and interesting worlds - and that he’s not taken on so much of a workload developing multiple simultaneous projects that making the story work will suffer - or even that they will end up bleeding across into each other even more!

I think what was most distressing was the implication that mahsima is trying to write for the fandom he gathered from FT instead of trying something new.

How about the story of this manga being about the enemies being human eating monsters and questions on morality.I am reading Kimetsu no yaiba now and it's a fantastic shounen and it has all these elements. Eden's Zero can also be like that.

I think Edens Zero will be about humans vs machines/androids and/or trying to find the Garden of Eden. Also does anyone thing there will be a crossover with Fairy Tail x Edens Zero?

The element "magic" will be the main thing as Hiro already said he loves magic.

And regarding your question of a crossover yeah we may get.We once got FTxRave so we may get RvexEdens Zero or FTxEdens Zero.

I don’t think he will be a cliche shounen MC I mean Gray wasn’t stupid like Natsu unless the new main character has Natsu's personality.

He look like Natsu and Gray mixed but this one is more like Natsu. I believe he will make more slight changes as the story goes. Anyways it's not Natsu or Gray it's a different character.

FT also had sci-fi elements like Brain's magic research facility.I expect something lume that in EZ too.

Well it’s not a manga/anime thing but a shonen main character thing and that mangaka try to make their main characters similar to Goku.

Not every shounen MC is like that though if you look carefully .No protagonist from Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventure is like that,Protagonist of Hunter x Hunter Gon isn't dense,Deku is not like that,Ed from FMA wasn't dense either.

Don’t forget about Yusuke he’s not a dense shounen main character. Also Mashima did say he does want to do romance in Edens Zero in a interview last year.

I know right Yu Yu Hakusho was awesome and yeah Yusuke made his feelings for Keiko obvious. Well he shouldn’t so maybe the main character will be different then Natsu.
