Still, I must admit that I´m 100% backing up our italian friend: Dylan Dog is GREAT, but you should also talk about Martin Mistery (a paranormal investigator), the italian comic that got adapted in a cartoon, but read the comic if you can find it, it has nothing to do with the cartoon (180º twist, hooray for the investigators of the supernatural - no wonder jojo´s bizarre adventure sells so well there!!!).

Also, for french BD, try to find the Joe Bar Team, it´s about a group of friends that are all bikers, and they are sponsored by a guy named Joe who owns a bar (called the "Joe Bar", where they all gather) but as you can imagine, they come in all shapes and forms (luckily for us, unluckily for them!!!)

Hi EYEWEAVER, welcome to the forums! :D

Unfortunately, we can't really create a seperate section for French comics unless there are enough people who want them, plus providers for the comics.

But there are a lot of people in this thread who seem to have read french comics, so you could always start a discussion here, if you'd like ^_^

I like Spirou, especially Le Petit Spirou series. And Cedric too. But I must admit Asterix and Obelix is my all-time favourite.

All those are really good but what about the master piece, Blacksad

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blacksad

Or the worst secret agents on the face of the world, Mortadelo & Filemon (Clever & Smart, Mort & Phil, Mortadel et Filémon...). Man, I've reading this since I was a Child and they still make me laugh my head off with some of their adventures.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mortadelo

And of course, the bizarre universe of Fanhunter, where an ex-book seller makes his way to Pope (of the religion of P.K. Dick, the writer) and make the world fall to bore and despair when he forbids all comics, action movies, music and all what makes the world fun, everything seems lost but a group of... ¿Heroes?... Such as Don Depresor (Mr depriment) with the power of bad luck (for him or for anyone who has the bad luck to be near with), Ridley Scott an space marine Fan of Sigourney Weaver, Bellit a blade master girl with little patience and their leader John Konstantine (yes, with K)... Stand and start an epic battle against the Popes forces the "Fanhunters" in an "epic decadent world".

I kept all I could, it's impressive the 50 years have past since they were created... And they are funnier than they were in their origin (the started to be really good with the large stories).
