Give Serena the benefit if the doubt based on what? The fact that he defeated 4 characters whom your also giving the benefit of the doubt too? This is a very unstable argument you have here. Serenas DS attacks were weak, I see no reason to assume they would even so much as phase Acnologia. Even if he uses stronger DS moves the damage he will be dishing out to Acno will be minimal, and that's assuming Acno just stands there and takes it.But we don't have anything else to hang on to other than that. I'd like to give Serena the benefit of the doubt. I think that, were their speeds equalized, there would actually be a fight, an interchange of attacks. I think the outcome would be the same, GS would be killed, but some of his attacks would have hit in. Let's remember God Serena can probably eat Acno's element too. And probably he's got one counter against his element (as he had water, which would be rather effective against Natsu).
We don't know 4 of Serenas elements nor do we know Acnologias, I don't see a probability here. Maybe a very small possibility, if that.
I agree, but Jellal only used a casual attack. Grand Chariot doesn't have a good track record, yet he improved so much that he one-shotted a Spriggan (even if its the weakest one) with it. He still has Abyass Break, Sema and Altairis and maybe some new techniques that he has developed.First of all, claiming Jellal can one-shot a Spriggan is a little bit far-fetched. Not only was he bloodlusted (if that counts at all), but Neinhart clearly shows no Spriggan endurance at all. He seems the weakest of all of them. I'd like to see how that spell would've affected Wahl, God Serena, Jacob or Dimaria. It probably wouldn't have been a OHKO at all.
It might have enhanced his heavenly body magic. Even if it was just an illusion though, that still takes Spriggan level MP to conjure something if that level.A "landscape changing move" is not that impressive as far as that was an illusion. After all, the only thing he did was turn the day into night. How that could possibly beat any strong opponent (or Jura), I don't really know. I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt to Jura and think they're on the same league, even if I believe Jellal to be slightly superior.
Hyberion drains MP, obviously he wouldn't have had a scratch from his attack, but he was clearly worried even before Hyberion attacked him. If the implication was that Serena had to stop toying with them but could still defeat them with his base power then Jacob wouldn't have been worried enough to intervene and August wouldn't have anticipated Serena resorting to his DS magic.I don't agree. First of all, Serena offpaneled them all and he didn't even have a scratch. I don't think they even got to touch him. When they fought "seriously", they got to "touch him", but he had no scratch either. He was literally toying with them. It was not until Hyberion intervened that he showed sign of concern: one drop of sweat. That is as much as they can push him, to one drop of sweat. I think it would be an overstatement to say that the 4 of them equal to Base God Serena, but I'd be willing to accept it. Saying they're superior, I think would be too much.I didn't think it was an implication that GS "had to" use God Slaying magic to beat them; I think he was done toying and he wanted to finish the job quickly.
He could land some hits but Acnologia would tank them. That's assuming Acnologia doesn't just competey offset Serenas attack with his own. It's not going to prevent Serena from getting ripped off, but it's going to help him dodge a few attacks and possibly land some others before he eventually dies.
How does it prove nothing? If one guy is standing and the other is knocked out on the floor that means that the guy who's standing either has greater durability or endurance (or both). There is literally no way around it.I think the fact that some were "trying to stand" and some were on the ground proves pretty much nothing. It is rather clear that Hyberion is above the three other Wizard Saints, whereas Warrod and Wolfheim are implied to be superior to Jura's. In my opinion, it would go like this: Serious God Serena >>> Base God Serena >>> Hyberion >> Wolfheim > Warrod > Jura. But who knows, right? Not enough feats. I'm willing to see them fight again.
What? Maybe if Laxus made absolutely zero improvements that would be the case, but Laxus quite clearly improved tremendously, just as much as Natsu did (minus Igneels power). Are you operating under the assumption that no one aside from Natsu improved? Because if so I could see where you are coming from, but everyone clearly improved. Some more then others, specifically those who have had highlighted potential at a young age like the dragons slayers, Jellal, Erza and Gray. The improvements are so large its pretty clear we have had a power inflation on our hands. Characters like Jura and Makarov don't improve as much, if at all, because they are old and have already reached their maximum potential. In my opinion, Jura did not improve at all from the GMG. Had he improved, he'd be on par with Laxus, and we all know that is not the case. And as for Warrod, he is support type, but he's got the offensive as well. He can create trees out of nowhere at a reasonable speed. You are getting hit by something hard, tough and at a considerable speed. And if he makes sharp ends, he can pretty much pierce a body.
