I understand your opinion.
- To me, yes Laxus managed to give some blows to Hades, but clearly, couldn't compete. Quickly, Hades made the difference between them.
- Gildarts matched clearly Bluenote on the beginning when his friends have been run away (I think he Held his own because of collateral impact who would hurt his running friends) and then felt out of Magic due to Azuma trick. With magic regain and no people around he has obliterated the most powerful Bluenote's attack by Crush and then one shot him. We knows that Hades was a stronger wizard than Bluenote, but not with a large gap in my opinion.
Gildarts vs Hades would be an interesting fight this time line.
Laxus has always been portrayed as a Power monster. So he has grown between Tenro line and the Game enougth to compete and match the fifth Saint Wizard which is clearly, amazing at this time. But I think Gildarts is still over them. Makarov explained that the massive Jura's power attack on the machine shoud rival to Gildarts, but Kana, her daughter, clearly surpassed the prediction and destroyed the machine. I think, in the same way, Gildarts also should destroyed the machine with All Crush. But this is about raw power. I think physically, they can compete. But the strongest Gildarts average is his experience and the effectivity of his Magic : he can destroy ennemi's attack.
Understand, during the Games, I think Laxus has clearly reduce the gap between them, by far.
As for Jellal, I think he is one of the best balanced character in the Manga. Natsu has a massive offensive technique, Grey is more defensive and strategic.
I think Jellal is the combinaison of the two : strong magic attack, strong magic defense, versatile elementals magic, great mobility and smart. Just for me, his weakness is his durability. This is why, at this moment, I put him on Classical Laxus's level, which make him really impressive. I really don't underestimate Jellal at all. If power-up, I can change my mind and put him to another peak.
