Yeah, the water from the lake.Yeah um no, he evaporated the lake water not the entire lake.
Zoom in on the last picture you posted, on the left said you see the tree and at the end you see the mountains or hills.
Natsu punched with his fire attack but didn't evaporate the entire lake. You can zoom in and see water on the left and right side.
Edit. Natsu punched him above the surface of the water. Natsu and Jacob were pushed foward. Meaning Natsu only leveled the surface for a moment.
Well for the sake of explaining my post, I was comparing the difference in power between Eileen and Zirconis but used Acnologia to measure it.Why are you comparing a dragon to Irene?
Dragons are immune to magic, end of story. Only magic taught from dragons can affect them.
Current Natsu wouldn't even touch any dragons. The only person I'd see even doing damage to a dragon is Laxus or God Serna and second gen slayers have shown to outclass the original ones.
Not to mention the fact that if dragons really were immune to magic, Acnologia wouldn't have been affected by Universe One.Well for the sake of explaining my post, I was comparing the difference in power between Eileen and Zirconis but used Acnologia to measure it.
I don't think dragons are immune to magic though. I mean if that was true, then only curse power would affect them. But since demons are inferior to dragons, that would mean dragons are invincible (which is not the case). We know dragons can be defeated by Dragon Slayer Magic (still magic). So that in itself is already proven. We also have evidence that a dragon can be "affected" by regular magic, but for a dragon to be "killed" by regular magic, that mage would need a massive amount of MP and attack power.
I have doubts about Natsu and Laxus being able to defeat dragons. I'm still hesitant with God Serena as well. All three can definitely injure one though. That I will agree on.
Igneel ripped Acnologias arm off with pure strength. So I'm guessing if there's a Mage with super strength, he could behead Acnologia.Well for the sake of explaining my post, I was comparing the difference in power between Eileen and Zirconis but used Acnologia to measure it.

I would say because he's still a human but he's a dragon now. But I think that only offensive magics don't work. Not to mention the fact that if dragons really were immune to magic, Acnologia wouldn't have been affected by Universe One.

Ok, that convo is over.I wouldn't care if one of our mods claimed Happy was above Acnologia, that's not an excuse to start bashing people. Everyone here (for the most part) has been civil and respectful in sharing their opinions whereas you just spew out insults like a triggered 5 year old. Learn to have an actual conversation with a human being or else don't comment at all. You've already made clear what you think of the people on these forums, why not just leave? No one would miss you.
True. Not to mention the fact that if dragons really were immune to magic, Acnologia wouldn't have been affected by Universe One.
Fair enough. I think we'll just have to disagree here. You may believe that dragons are immune to magic but I just happen to think that they are extremely durable at least from what was shown in the manga (resistance to their own element being an extra attribute).Igneel ripped Acnologias arm off with pure strength. So I'm guessing if there's a Mage with super strength, he could behead Acnologia.
The jade Dragon laughed when humans tried attacking him. That's when he said dragons are immune to magic.
Curse power was formed from magic stated by Mard Geer. Idk that's true because Hiro made him lie about END.
That's a fallacy.Mira proved that Gildarts is no where near August or Irene
Mira has never seen an opponent who is as strong as August or Irene. So this automatically proves that Gildarts is nowhere near them.So unless Gildarts trains for a year i don't see him reaching August or Irene level.Infact he may never be a Spriggan level.![]()
Did you really just say Laxus Lightning isn't from his LIGHTNING LACRAMA?I'm not sure if Irene or August can kill a dragon, given how strong their bodies are. I will say that apart from DS, August and Irene would be top 3 most likely to defeat one.
To KO a dragon of Motherglare's level you'd need a DS attack as strong as AF Natsu's punch. FDKM Natsu can pull that off. God Serena's spells might, and he can spam. Laxus hasn't showed a slayer move that can, but his dragon slayer spells should be around FDK level when at full power, give or take.
Hehe tank you :PThanks for the hard work @Char! I have to respect the effort you put into bringing the community together to draft these rankings.
You're gonna need to think out of the box if you want to at least understand why these characters are this high even though you don't agree with it.Now as for the rankings themselves
There are two perspectives to be taken here: Those who think Glidartz should be on Bluenote level, and those who think that whereas Bluenote seems not to have improved, Glidartz being a member of FT and FT members having an absurd growth ratio, he should come back way more powerful to "meet" his hype. I think those who place him slightly higher than Bluenote are as right as those who put him very high, just a matter of perspective.- lol at Gildartz being so high......he should be closer to Bluenote level.
Again, there are two perspectives here:- Wolfheim and Hyberion are extremely high, above even Gray and Gajeel. Do people think Gray and Gajeel together would get fodder-stomped by base Serena? >.>
You can either think: "OK, Shaila shouldn't be so powerful since she was beaten by an attack from Elfman so she should be even below himself on the list" or you could think "Well Shaila fodderized the strongest form of Mirajane atm + she has macro which apparently is omnipotent if you agree with the NLF so she should actually be quite something". Both positions make sense- Sayla, who was beaten from one preskip Elfman attack is above current Gajeel, Future Rogue, Jura, Silver, Kyoka Etc, and that's absurd.

Because whereas Silver received mainly laudable feats, Ur got a lot of hype. I consider the Tartaros demons to be in general below Wizard Saint level or borderline WS level except for MG who is high Wizard Saint level or even God of Ishgar level. However, Ur was actually hyped to be a WS.- Really dont get how Silver could be above Ur
You shouldn't have paid much attention to me on that. I hardly remember Silver's feats other than freezing an entire town + a "poof" speed feat in whcih he separated Gray from the others (but the anime may've exaggerated that, and I remember that scene from the anime). As far as I'm concerned DeS Gray only managed to freeze a reasonably big area (when vs Ajeel) but nowhere near a town, and I haven't seen speed feats from him in this arc so we can't say for sure. What on earth Char? Despite Gray being at a major disadvantage, that fight ended with Gray shooting a massive hole through Silver.......he was clearly the stronger of the two. Need I remind you that Silver was immune to Gray's magic and still lost?
DS magic should be but a mere factor for a mage to be less powerful than another mage but still be as effective or more against a dragon. DS magic should not determine who can exclusively defeat a dragon.I agree with Kay3795 regarding the topic about the GMG Dragons and August/Eileen.
I never understood how some believed August/Eileen can defeat a dragon, especially without Dragon Slayer Magic.
Claiming such a thing means you probably have not grasp the immense growth of these two characters. They are nothing like they were a year ago. If you ask me, with the Second Origin they closed up a gap of 7 years; but with this year they probably closed a gap of 15 years. I mean their progress is as impressive and unnatural as it is little believable. I do believe they could mid-diff a GMG dragon. Now fast foward from the GMG Arc to the Alvarez Arc (1 year difference). As of right now, I don't see Natsu or Laxus being capable of slaying any dragon.
My point is that Mira was so shocked by the power of those 2 that she made this comment. But she never made this kind of comment on Gildarts that his strength defies logic. That's a fallacy.
Mirajane didn't say that; she said their magic power is humongous. Mirajane has faced Acnologia on Tenrou Island, whose power was stated on many occasion to be above that of all Spriggans.
That doesn't mean I agree that August and Gildarts are on the same level, but just thought I should clear out the confusion regarding your post about Mirajane's comment.
True, but you have to understand that there's a big difference between these two situations: Gildarts is an ally, so why would she comment on the power of someone she would never have to fight. When it comes to August and Irene, they are direct enemies to Fairy Tail and will have to be defeated eventually, hence her remark on their otherworldly magic power. My point is that Mira was so shocked by the power of those 2 that she made this comment. But she never made this kind of comment on Gildarts that his strength defies logic.

If you believe in titles than God Serna is the strongest Mage in Ishgar, Gildarts is still the strongest Mage in fairy tail, Jura is the strongest human.Even a nuclear bomb will look tiny if it is observed from a certain distance away. Even a mountain range is far closer to the guild then the explosion, and they still saw it. And then we have the close-up:
![]()
Which is undeniably bigger then a mountain. We have similar rock structures to the one that Gildarts cracked right there next to the explosion. Either way, this has dragged, you can still hold on to Gildarts being the more impressive lol.
I'm am completely ignoring everything that happened after because it is irrelevant. What matters is what his expression was during the moment in question, and it was undeniably bloodlusted. Thats all there is to it. August was also certainly pissed, but even he wasn't as pissed as Gildarts was at that moment. Gildarts was almost as shadowed out as him and Augusts skin is shadowed, plus that vein tho.
He says he negated it, and then follows up with most of it anyways. That means he did not negate all of it, he is not immune to fire, simply highly resistant to it. The latter is a blatant lie. Disassembly hasn't shown to have a big AoE.
With all due respect this is just ranting bias. I'm not going to debate this. You can believe what you like.
No he doesn't. His magic is just straight up raw power. That leaves room for defeat by anyone with more raw power then him or hax.
I suggest you re-read what happened. Bluenote attacked Natsu, Natsu simply no-sold his attack with a simple flame punch. Bluenote then proceeds to charge in and get one-shotted. Whether he made a follow up attack or not wouldn't have changed the fact that he would have gotten one-shotted by that roar. Natsu did not go all out, Natsu using his FDK moves isn't even him going all-out (and his FDK moves are far stronger then that roar on Bluenote). When Natsu uses FDKM is when we can assume he is going all-out.
Makes little difference. If Cana is standing right in front of Gildarts and pulls out a sword, Gildarts isn't going to be putting his guard up against his daughter, especially if the actual enemies are behind them. If you are close to someone you aren't going to doubt them.
Actually I can. If August is stated to be stronger then character A then I can rightfully assume that August wouldn't get blitzed and defeated by character A. August doesn't have any speed feats yet, but he doesn't need them because he is far stronger then characters who are stronger and faster then Gildarts.
Mira,"Their strength defies logic ,they are as strong as Gildarts or weaker than Gildarts".But she did not make any statement like this. She views their srength shocking and that's why she made this comment.True, but you have to understand that there's a big difference between these two situations: Gildarts is an ally, so why would she comment on the power of someone she would never have to fight. When it comes to August and Irene, they are direct enemies to Fairy Tail and will have to be defeated eventually, hence her remark on their otherworldly magic power.![]()
I tend to disagree with the statement that Acnologia would probably have trouble defeating a dragon in his human form. In my opinion, that's going too far.Dragons are the Supreme Race -- the Overlords -- in this series; hence Hiro outright being coerced to remove them from the plot via non-conventional tactic.
I already question how August & Irene could match their potency, let alone individually defeating one -- something which cannot be done with conventional tactic & magic.
& sure Acno may be one of the strongest Dragons ever; however, without his soul power -- which essentially act as a bane or kryptonite to Dragons -- I don't see how he could properly challenge a fully-fledged Dragon like Atlas Flame with just his inferior, human form alone & win conventionally; Irene doesn't even want to have anything to do with either forms.
I agree that slayer advantage shouldn't be the sole reason as to why dragons, demons, or gods are defeated. But my point is that August and Eileen don't have the capability to defeat one just yet. Not because they are not slayers but because they don't have enough overall damage [Magic Power + Slayer Effectiveness].DS magic should be but a mere factor for a mage to be less powerful than another mage but still be as effective or more against a dragon. DS magic should not determine who can exclusively defeat a dragon.
Base Chelia with God Slaying Magic was barely able to scratch Dimaria. Only when Chelia had Third Origin (which massively increased her power) did she have a chance against her. Now I understand that Chelia relied more on her power-up than her slayer advantage, but that was because she was tiers below Dimaria to start out with. August/Eileen satisfy the MP and attack power requirement but without slayer advantage, I see them being a little short of beating a dragon.Similarly, TO Chelia + Wendy as a backup + Ultear for age seal prevention managed to beat an opponent who's a few leagues above herself, but because of the GS factor. That doesn't mean August, who is not a God Slayer, could not beat Dimaria, does it?
I agree that the Spriggans are far better than GMG Jura. But the question is, how much did Jura improve between the GMG Arc to Alvarez Arc (1 year difference)? I believe there was a consensus that Jura didn't improve much since Tartaros and that he is arguably on Erza's level (almost on par with Ajeel) in the current arc. That would put him on the level of a Low-Medium Tier Spriggan. So the difference between Jura and a Spriggan isn't too far.Dragons have so high a durability that any attacks from GMG Jura level or below that are not going to even tickle them. That doesn't mean that Spriggan-level attacks, which are faaaaaar above GMG Jura's attacks, are not going to hurt them, right?
I tend to differ here. The exchange between Eileen and Acnologia is very similar to Gildarts' experience. The only difference is that Acnologia straight up attacked Gildarts while he wasn't even willing to engage in a fight with Eileen. All this tells me is that Eileen is arrogant and that she is very much weaker than him from "running away". Honestly, I wouldn't even use Gildarts' battle with Acnologia as proof of his durability. Also, Irene probably put up a better fight against the strongest dragon than many GMG dragons would before being utterly fodderized by Acno!
I don't deny their growth during the timeskip. But can they really defeat a dragon? If you look at Natsu, he had to go FDKM to beat (not kill) Jacob. That is already 1 power-up that Natsu had to use just to defeat a Low-Tier Spriggan. Although everyone may have improved, it isn't like they are godly right now. That is what I'm trying to get at. And just to make it clear, I don't believe the GMG dragons are fodders. Here is how I see it.Claiming such a thing means you probably have not grasp the immense growth of these two characters. They are nothing like they were a year ago. If you ask me, with the Second Origin they closed up a gap of 7 years; but with this year they probably closed a gap of 15 years. I acknowledge that August was caught off guard but let's be real. A dragon would be much more lethal and quick compared to Brandish. Even if he was expecting an attack from a dragon, an instant gut to his body would render him useless. I also don't think a shield/barrier would be that helpful in this situation. Also I don't think we should take August being pierced as a proof of low durability since he was caught off guard / passive durability and what is a factor here is not that kind of durability but his battle durability. He can probably envelop himself in some kind of indestructible barrier for all we know.
I agree dragons are not immune to magic. Also to whomever is in favor that Dragons are immune to non dragon slaying magic, I think we've been over that a few times. No, they are not immune, they're just more durable. Similarly Gods are more durable but God Slaying magic affects them more.
