Yes, he did say Natsu’s power from Jellal is like when he ate the Etherion crystal, which is 3x, and if we are talking about time and performance, the Jellal’s power is definitely stronger as Natsu struggled and lasted longer than when he defeated Jellal in a few seconds and had little trouble. All magic contains magic power, so if he eats something that is high in magic, that by definition is a power up especially when it is supernatural. Jutsu Shiki does have MBP, which has been confirmed by people who has Japanese text and translation skills, even on the wiki. And makes sense as Freed managed to survive and stay conscious long enough to carry his comrades out of the field. Then by that logic Gajeel should not have gained a power up at all if he his magic power was being destroyed this would not have transformed, thus would not have been able to beat Bloodman. Gajeel delivered more than one. He even landed a hit which Bloodman stoped with his hand.

Red Lightning definitely is a stronger spell than his other techniques, apart from Fairy Law and likely his DS secret arts.
I don't think it's a spell.

I think it was mentioned in a Volume or somewhere that it's a lightning with an explosive property, AKA Mercury Fulminate.

I don't think it's simply red lightning > regular lightning

Lightning that surpasses lightning was put there most likely just to sound cool.

he made Wall explode so to speak... or something.

maybe he can use that type of lightning like it's some sort of mode like dual elements.

@Jean Grey you got a point there, but the thing that is important is how much magic energy is behind individual spells that would determine their strength, so, lighting that surpasses lightning may not just be hyperbolic, he could have have a duel element or possibly just added a different ability to them.

yeah, possibly.

my guess is it was just an explosive property and we probably will never see it again.

Gajeel matched Natsu, Natsu is obviously above spriggan level(or are we actually questioning that now?) I don't get what the big deal is. The fact that he forced Natsu to use up almost all his power just reinforces Gajeel's feat of beating Bloodman to death. FT top tiers are simply above spriggan tier.
Quality of their element >>>> Quantity of their element. That was shown when Natsu ate the Flame of Rebuke, Zancrow's flames, Ignia's Flame, Wendy eating the Wind right by FACE, Gajeel eating Rogue's fodder attack, Sting eating an exhausted Rogue's magic, and Natsu eating Laxus's lightning. Natsu could eat a whole city of regular fire and still not be stronger than eating Jellal's flame of rebuke (at the time).

MCBs do make up Justu Shiki, it's the main reason why Laxus wanted fight Wall. He saw Wall cancel the MCBs and knew he could cancel the MCBs in himself as well
Justu Shiki are made up of MCBs.

New Forms always equal power ups in FT. Dragon's Force, Dual Element, Drive modes, Stat Dresses, Takeovers, and several others transformation that come at the last second of a fight and give new abilities and powers would indicate a power up. Please tell me when someone in FT who just got a new transformation in the middle of a battle wasn't getting a power up? There's no point in the transformation if they didn't get stronger lol.

He didn't avoid a physical battle bcs he was scared Gajeel's physicals, he avoided a physical battle bcs he would gain nothing from it and it would be pointless. They were even in physical power as seen in their confrontation of physicals.

Also that same headbutt from Gajeel put Natsu in the dirt so yeah, Bloodman matched Gajeel physically and wasn't even scratched by his headbutt which made Natsu bleed lol.

Gajeel also got a new magical aura around his attacks along with turning into MCBs.
He has never shown that aura outside of this form. So again, Gajeel got a power up.
MBPs aren't quality though, they provide the opposite of strength, Levy and Bloodmans reaction to Gajeel eating them makes it clear. Eating MBPs weakens him, it doesn't strengthen him. The iron within them at best lessened the damage. Mashima specifically decided to mention the iron within as TINY, no point in doing that if it was actually secretly super rare high quality iron. So once again, eating MBPs didn't strength Gajeel, they injured him further.

Black Iron mode serves a function, it allows Gajeel to touch Bloodman, as stated. Nowhere is it said to grant extra power like Dragon Force, Dual Elements, Star Dresses, etc, were. In fact it isn't even recognized as it's own mode, we just call it Black Iron mode. Really it's just Gajeel with his element changed to match Bloodmans.

You know what Flame of Rebuke, Zancrow's flames, Ignia's Flame, the air around FACE, Rogue's shadow, and Laxus' lightning all have in common? They all contain high amounts of magical power. You know the one thing Bloodman's iron is missing? Magic power. At the end of the day, the undeniable truth is that what Gajeel ate was a tiny amount of iron mixed in with a huge amount of anti-ethernano particles. This is actually far worse than eating a chunk of Iron from something like Levy's solid script. There is more physical iron in Levy's chunk, and that chunk would have magic power. Eating Bloodman's particles is actually worse than eating regular iron. The anti magic particles will destroy the ethernano, the building blocks of magic, in Gajeel's body. This is not a case of "quantity versus quality". Both the quantity and quality of iron in this case sucks. Gajeel is not beating up Bloodman because of an increase in his magic or physical power. He is beating up Bloodman despite the weakening of his magical reserves and poisoning himself. He is eating the anti-magic particles out of desperation because he needed a way to touch Bloodman.

Merely having a transformation doesn't prove that there was an increase in Gajeel's magical power reserves or physical strength. You know why? Because Gajeel's ISD or even covering himself in regular iron scales can be considered transformations, and there is nothing to suggest that black iron is stronger than those forms. I could even say that black iron is the curse power equivalent to Gajeel's regular iron scales. Gajeel's transformation simply changed the properties of his magic to match that of Bloodman's curse. What is having a magical aura around your fist supposed to mean? Why is that supposed to be mind blowing? Are you seriously trying to tell me that you think Gajeel got a massive increase to his physical and magical reserves because his punches are now accompanied by an aura? Gajeel's and Natsu's punches cause outright explosions when they hit each other.

Saying that whoever can cancel a jutsu shiki can also cancel anti magic particles is not the same thing as saying Jutsu Shikis are made of anti-magic particles.

Calm down son, it's just manga, no need to get upset about it. As for Marin, there are degrees of usefulness advantages provide. Just because you have an advantage and win, doesn't mean you can't win without it.

Larcade is above average spriggan tier, not top tier. August and Eileen are top tier. And Sting with Rogue's power is above average spriggan level too, maybe saying he was superior to Larcade was an exaggeration, but he's more or less on that level.
Larcade talking in the fight means nothing, all characters talk in their fights. As for type advantage, sure, it contributed to Sting's victory.

Yep, Gajeel has the speed feats. The feats of blitzing Bloodman so hard that he died a few seconds later.

Who the hax affects isn't impressive, supposedly it could affect Acnologia, and yet still I, and everyone else, don't give a shit. Wanna know why? It's cause If the magic doesn't accomplish anything in a fight, then it's meaningless, who it affects doesn't matter.

You have it backwards. The spriggans were weak, and it was they who had it very lucky in most cases, matched up against foes they counter hard, because otherwise they'd get slaughtered. Like Jacob, was placed inside the guild so Natsu had to hold back the entire fight. Then there is Wahl, immune to lightning yet fought Laxus, and even then Mashima still needed to nerf Laxus hard with MBPs. Then there is Ajeel, he's immune to swords, and who does he fight? Erza, even worse he had Marin, another hard counter to Erza, using magic in the background restricting her magic. Then there's Neinhart, needed to fight an already trashed Erza. Then there is Bloodman, and intangible fighter, pitted against Gajeel, a physical fighter. The only spriggans who were at a disadvantage were Invel, Dimaria and Larcade.

Yes, Gajeel beat Bloodman because he was vastly superior, and yes if Bloodman used all his curse Gajeel would win again. The only reason Bloodman presented a challenge at all was because he had the type advantage, Gajeel figuring out a way to use his skillset to change that type advantage is just clever think on his part. If they ever fought again, Gajeel would massacre Bloodman with ease.
False. The Spriggan’s were lucky? Then why did God Soul Dimaria fight a God Slayer? Why did Larcade fight someone who could eat his magic? Why did Ajeel fight someone who is immune to sand? Why did Invel face and ice wizard? So Fairytail could win.

The Spriggan’s are far from weak. Almost all of them have a spell or two to one shot most Fairytail wizards, but obviously Fairytail found ways to overcome this and they got lucky.

Sting is no average Spriggan lol he literally won because of type advantages and assistance. Just like most of the fights against Spriggan’s, the Spriggan’s had the the odds against them. That’s what happened in the canon. They lost because they needed to, not because they were weak.

And do you know what MBP are related to? Jutsu Shiki, and do you know what Jutsu Shiki has? Magic power, and for Natsu, like Etherion, MBP possesses other power besides Iron. Gajeel was obviously stronger than when he was when he fought Bloodman, he even lamented how he was dead last behind other Dragon Slayers, so that would mean he lacks strength. It is not as worse than eating high concentrations of MP which is hazardous. Gajeel not only got a massive power up but got the ability to hit Bloodman for attacks that he could not before. Doesn’t mean he hadn’t hit him before. His body was literally seething with energy, and not from shadow, something that Iron does not do. If it isn’t Magic Energy then I do not know what is. Yes it does as being able to cancel Jutsu Shiki from an spell that is called Magic/Particle canceller. Laxus talks as they are one in the same

MBPs are a type of magic so they have a concentration of Bloodman's power in them. And as we know MBP don't effect Gajeel's Iron Lungs. The only detirement from eating them was becoming MBPs and dying lol. Natsu is not as powerful as he was in Alvarez. Madmole, and now his endurance being this crappy is one of many reason why he's weaker. You could also make a case that Gajeel is his friend and held back his lethal attacks unlike in Alvarez.

Eating MBPs did strengthen him lol. He got a new power up and wasn't slowed down in the slightest. He got stronger as they were even matched in physical power beforehand. The only thing was that MBPs was going to turn him into it and kill him. They weren't actively killing him like it did Laxus. Eating the MBPs is a double edge sword. He gets a power up but dies doing, but that double edge was cheated bcs of UO and plot armor lol.

Black Iron mode was implied to be DF and it gave him a new power to use. He had new scales and a magical aura which he never had before wrapped around his attacks. Like I said before, what transformation given mid battle has ever made anyone the same strength or weaker? Like literally every new transformation has been used as a power up.

S12 are weak? Yet current S12 are banned from entering the story and they had to make DiMaria a farmer so she doesn't enter any battle in the current era lmfao. The 3 dragon eaters would've been soloed by one high tier S12 let alone top tier S12.

we are gonna see where they stand in the next chapter.

if Kyria gives Laxus (if she fights him) a moderate challenge (keep in mind this is post Alvarez and Laxus is one of those who likes to train) then they are above the average Spriggans by a lot.

currently, they are close or on a similar level when it comes to combat at least.

screw MP.

3 of the spriggans you mentioned were the ones I already said were at a disadvantage. As for Ajeel, his actual fight, you know the one with Erza, he was at an extreme advantage. The guy is immune to swords, and he's fighting Erza, not to mention friggin Marin.

Two to oneshot most Fairy Tail wizards lol? Spriggan's pelt FT wizards with attacks upon attacks upon attacks, and they pretty much never go down. Ajeel had Erza stuck in his Sand Desiccation(thanks to Marin) for the entire time Lucy and Brandish had their bath lol, and Erza still could continue to fight. Wahl spammed a bunch of attacks on Laxus WHILE HE WAS DYING OF MAGIC CANCER and Laxus still wouldn't go down. Jacob was hitting Natsu and Lucy with tonnes of attacks, both were pretty much uninjured by the end of the fight. And did you see how many curses Bloodman landed on Gajeel? Gajeel even swam in Bloodmans ultimate curse to save Levy, and still got back up and fought lol, and that was AFTER he had already tanked a bunch of other curses.
The only good stuff the Spriggans have is hax, and even that is only good in theory, we've not really seen any of their hax take down any decent fighters.

What happened in canon is that FT top tiers wrecked the spriggans hard despite almost always being at a disadvantage. Wahl, Ajeel, Bloodman, Jacob, Neinhart, all had the odds stacked in their favor, and then got massacred the moment that changed. Brandish and God Serena were useless all arc. Larcade didn't even fight a member of FT, he fought friggin side characters. Invel was at a disadvantage, still got absolutely humiliated by Gray though. Dimaria is the only spriggan who actually had a good fight with a solid display of strength(my favorite in the arc), and even that was only against Wendy and Chelia, when she actually fought a strong opponent(Natsu) she got wrecked hard.

Even at disadvantage, the good guys still have to have power to back it up, just like how DS have the advantage against regular dragons but where not strong enough in the GMG arc. Laxus did not have magic cancer, just infected with MBP. Well with GS it made sense as It as Acno that did him in, while with Brandish, she had little reason to fight. Even Spriggans were around the same level as each other with Brandish having enough MP to bring down countries. I am not getting into the details about side characters having reasons to be significance to the fight as well, but if one thing was established, that FT alone could not defeat Alvarez.

No, they are a type of antimagic, that eats at normal magic. This applies to Gajeel too, even with the TINY amount of Iron, which is why Levy was crying as Gajeel did it, and why Bloodman was losing his mind about the fact that Gajeel was doing something so insane. Eating MBPs hurt Gajeel, we know this, nowhere is it stated to power him up, nor would it make any sense for it to do so given that they kill magic. It changed Gajeel's element, that's it.

So you think Natsu wouldn't be able to beat Jacob's ass like he did in Alvarez? Nah, Natsu is still above Spriggans, as is Gajeel. And no, Bloodman wasn't evenly matched with Gajeel physically. Gajeel overpowered Bloodman in their initial physical confrontation, and Bloodman used his intangibility to slip away.

Wasn't stated to be a new form, he just matched Bloodmans element. Gajeel having scales is nothing new. If it actually was DF, then MBPs certainly didn't help him accomplish it, they made it more difficult. MBPs eat magic, they don't increase it, this is well known.

Well Sting did not win by himself through and through, even at his highest point he still needed help from others. Gajeel only became stronger when he ate Bloodman’s particles which gave him the strength of a Spriggan or higher. Jacob can clap if he wants, it does not mean he is inferior alone as he could take hits from Natsu and Lucy and Makarov. I wonder if Gajeel can survive Nuclear fusion temperatures. Which Gajeel was only after the powerup from Bloodman, we do not even know what other elements God Serena has, he even has a advanced flame magic or water magic which he can easily encompass many high level FT members. Spriggans have shown to be better than any other villains in the past, powerful enough to annihilate countries, even when the top two Spriggans opted for suicide because or change of hearts, FT could not beat them
[/QUOTE]

I don’t know if someone mentioned this but another reason why Sting won was because he’s a light dragon slayer and Larcade was a light mage user

Yet he was coursing with power even the ground shatters before him, something regular iron by any means does not have the ability to unless it radiates some form of energy. Power ups are not exclusive to people who don’t suffer from it’s aftereffects. Changing his element yet still he has iron covering him, that makes little sense. Gajeel is not above Spriggan level until he ate his power it is as simple as that. Bloodman still could contend physically with Gajeel before the powerup as they made physical contact. It is definitely a new form as it deviates from his other forms, of the physical appearance does not match his other forms and it is a new form not when his scales are different than before. If it destroys magic, then it would have destroyed all of Bloodman’s magic yet he still has a tiny portion of it. He even used Devil Slayer magic.

Even for springgans it doesn't make sense. Most of those fight followed the same formula, once you overcame their hax, you can easily take them out.
But they are supposed to have huge mp.
And serena could easily tank all goi attacks.

Can you imagine
in the very start of fairy tail one guy overcome a hax of hybrion and one shot him. Then loses to start of series natsu in one on one fight?

We just dont have feats for the bad guys like springgans.
Then it becomes fans choice who is strong who isnt.

Because it goes against zeref and springgans hype.
Because no character seems to be abnormally impressed by laxus nuke and planned the war around laxus. And laxus aint aconologia tier
And laxus being that powerful served no purpose in the story.

But machina are extremely weak against lightening. Once wahl couldnt convert lightening he was gonner. Red lightening doesn't even need to be laxus strongest move
And i would have agreed with its strength if wahl ai said something about overloading or something along those lines
Like most opponents the Spriggans lost because they relied to heavily on their hax

No, they are magic otherwise Freed a magic user wouldn't be able to use them. Gajeel was not effect by MBPs due to his Iron lungs and Iron skin. This is stated by Gajeel himself that MBPs have no effect on them. Nowhere did it state it was weakening him lol. They only said it would kill him due to turning into MBPs. The effect of them were not hurting or weakening him. He literally had a visual representation of being powered up lol.

No, unless he shows off the use of FDKM without exhaustion again. He couldn't even boil water in the WDG arc despite literally vaping an entire lake that covered over an island worth of land with just his body heat. The due is undoubtedly weaker or not performing on the level he did in Alvarez. Bloodmanwas evenly matched with Gajeel in physicals. He kept up with Gajeel's speed and caught Gajeel's attacks with his physical body. He also took the same hit Natsu did without a scratch.

It was a heavy implied that it was his DF and it was a viaual representation of a new form. A name doesn't need to be attached to a transformation upon the introduction of it. Dragon Force had no name when it first appeared in the story, but we knew he was powered due to him getting a visual transformation and new abilities. Gajeel getting new scales is something lol. Like if he didn't have the new scales he wouldn't have won. That's like saying when his scales turned to steel he didn't get a power up. MBPs are made of magic so they do have magic in it which would increase Gajeel's power. He wouldn't have transformed with normal as I have already shown in this thread. Normal Iron doesn't give new forms lol.

MBPs are made of magic so they do have magic in it which would increase Gajeel's power. He wouldn't have transformed with normal as I have already shown in this thread. Normal Iron doesn't give new forms lol.
No, they kill magic, it was mentioned in the very fight. It's canon. Whatever Freed does is unknown and irrelevant. What is known, and what is relevant is that MBPs were killing Gajeel's magic, because it happened in the fight.

Natsu spams FDK moves, he used it casually on Madmole. Jacob is nothing to him, he's just a ordinary spriggan, no threat to Natsu. Natsu didn't need PoF or anything to beat Jacob, he was simply superior. Far superior. Casually superior. Mashima didnt revert Natsu to below his casual strength. It'd be like deleting Natsu's year of training, utterly ridiculous. Even Mirajane could beat Jacob, and she's obviously not on Natsu's level.

No, Bloodman used his intangibility to slip away from Gajeel and got overpowered when he tried to attack physically. Why would he have a scratch from a headbutt? Bloodman's body is made of MBPs, he can literally make a hole in his face and reform it with no consequences. The only way to hurt Bloodman physically is by being the same element. I shouldnt have to say this.

Gajeel has always been able to cover his body in scales. And if it is DF, then that just means Gajeel is powerful enough to use it, since MBPs canonically weaken magic. And no one is saying he transformed with normal iron, he transformed because he changed his element to match Bloodmans, as stated.
