Nobody is saying you can't power-up from eating something that is toxic. We're saying that you can't get a boost in magical power eating something that literally destroys magic power. Anti-magic particles literally destroy the building blocks of magic. Curse powers are different enough from regular magic that face will destroy the ethernano in the atmosphere and leave all the mages powerless, while leaving curse users completely unharmed. They are different enough that Gajeel simply could not recognize that Bloodman as being Spriggan level. If you believe that Freed's runes can also generate anti-magic particles, that just means anybody who tries to eat those runes would not receive any magic power and have the particles destroy the ethernano within their bodies as well.

There is no such thing as "base FDK". FDK spells are performed with FDK flames, and those flames are simply different from his regular flames. The mode is just Natsu releasing a bunch of those flames to cover himself. The heat might burn up people who have poor durability, but it won't take out anyone who can tank actually getting hit by those flames. Natsu's strongest usage of "FDK Demolition Fist" wasn't even with the mode. It was when he used it against Zeref to burn Fairy Heart, and the flames then were way hotter than when he fought Jacob. The mode doesn't matter. What matters is how much effort Natsu puts into his attacks.

Mirajane is not on Erza's level. Just compare their respective performances against Irene. Mirajane exhausted all her magic power fighting inanimate objects that Irene enchanted, and Irene herself toyed with Mirajane. Erza got her bones smashed by Irene's dragon form, and still muster enough strength to smash Irene's best onscreen enchantment. Right now Mirajane and Elfman are currently fighting Lucy, and still haven't oneshotted her yet. Kyria oneshotted Lucy and Wendy casually with her roar. Kyria even injured Mercphobia. Erza is going toe to toe with Kyria. None of Mirajane's feats stack up against Erza's Alvarez or 100YQ feats.

Also, Natsu has defeated Gajeel in less time than it takes for Mirajane to defeat Lucy. You're the one trying to convince us that Jacob has top tier durability that surpasses Madmole's, and hand to hand combat that matches Wall's. Mirajane apparently oneshotted Jacob with a single punch from Satan Soul. Now she's landed several hits on Loke and Lucy last chapter.
Mirajane literally said like three chapters ago that she’s going to punish Lucy. How can she punish Lucy if she’s just one shots her? She’s clearly trying to stack the abuse on her, all she did last chapter was punch her and kick her casually and that visibly hurt Lucy. Not to mention Mira is in BSS. Do you think a serious Mirajane wouldn’t behead Lucy in an instant? Wow. For a good chunk of the fight, Mira was busy tying Virgo up. She’s obviously not trying and she hasn’t been pushed yet so your statements are pretty much ignoring context.

Also the punch Mira used to knocked Jacob out looks more powerful than the causal kicks and punches she’s giving to Lucy.

Most of Erza’s performance against Irene was only even possible because of Wendy’s enchantments. Even Irene being knocked out of her dragon form happened because of Wendy’s enchantments. Again, context has been ignored.

Honestly, while I agree that Erza is superior to Mira (mainly due to endurance), I think everyone overestimates Erza’s Alvarez feats. She didn’t defeat any Spriggan by herself. She never landed a finishing blow. She always had help and was constantly healed up. You people make it sound like she’s in a completely unreachable tier. Mira actually defeated Jacob, a Spriggan, by herself. Mira is the closest thing Ishgar has as a female wizard to rival Erza’s strength. Defeating Mira would not be an easy victory for Erza.

MBPs are just something Mashima used to make Laxus more of an underdog vs Wahl for no bloody reason. Up until the moment Wahl cancelled them there was absolutely no point where it was hinted they were the same thing as Freed's runes. They were magic destroying particles, plain and simple. At best they block you from using magic, hence "barrier". Then again Mashima apparently wanted Laxus vs Tempester 2 which is even dumber.

The beauty of FT isn't it? The No.2 hype baloon needs to be fighting an enemy that powers up from his attacks while nerfed by magic destroying cancer. And then wins by something never shown before with no explanation even though they could easily say "It was something his great grandfather was making and he completed it" in one sentence or panel but nah too much work.

Sadly erza tier is far out of reach of mira. Mishma hasnt taken mira seriously since forever.
Mira only gets gag fights :(

Actually wendy didnt really do anything.
Wendy touched irene once in the very start.
Then she enhanced erza to such an extend but irene didnt care and used her hat and her head to block erza sword:-_-
Then body swap nonsense happened. Erza didnt hit her in wendy body because she didnt want to hurt wendy.
Then wendy left the match.
After it was all erza till she overpowered dragon irene top tier move.
Then wendy helped erza bypass dragon immunity, alowing erza to injure irene seriously enough.

Whether people like it or not erza performed alot better than gildarts did against August
And cana remain in that fight through out
Wendy did not

@Axiomus I disagree FDKM natsu> Base natsu with FDK attacks. 2. It’s clear as day that Laxus is above an average spriggan lvl 3. Every1 seems to forget that wahl said in his “prankster mode” he would lose the upper hand meaning that at some point he wouldn’t able to keep tanking laxus attacks hence why he went asssult mode. 4. I don’t undersatnd ppl think RL is an asspull did we just forget laxus trained for year just like every1 else?

From what I understand FDK mode is just like LFD mode, it changes all Natsu's basic nameless attacks into FDK attacks.

FDKM/LFDM doesn't necessarily enhance the named techniques, since those named techniques already have that additional magic in them. It's like the LFD attacks Natsu used on Mard and to beat Jackal, Natsu wasn't in LFD mode for those attacks, doesn't mean they're weaker than the LFD attacks Natsu used on Tempester or F.Rogue. Though we'll never actually know the truth since it's never been explained, and probably never will be.

Nah bro fdkm increases his abilities or else he wouldnt need a mode for it. Natsu melting people clothes shouldn’t be the difference as he was able to do that in base. It doesn’t make sense for natsu to use a mode to increase heat when he was able to do it in base also he should have just used a fdk spell to oneshot Jacob. If that’s the case

So yeah, even without FDKM, Natsu can still take on DS especially one who’s specialty is durability. Andy was burned for it, while both in that mode and using a FDK spell, Jacob was just knocked out, with his clothes burned

@Jean Grey well look at what Savage Flames does, it is a heat that lets him effect time, which surpasses his standard limit. That would be considered his strongest and most dangerous power.

But does he actually need a mode for it? I'm gonna say no, since he didn't even use it on Zeref in their final fight. FDKM is probably a thing of the past.

yeah, no one likes that...

Savage Flames apparently isn't a name for it but it was definitely the biggest PoF in FT history.

it was Demolition Fist that put down Zeref.

But Demolition Fist alone was not enough, he had to warp time itself to actually put Zeref down, which is impossible unless it is with Savage Flames, well wether it is a name or not, it is what people are going by. PoF is considered a legit power of how magic works in FT verse, and for good reason.

And even in real world, heat of such intensity can effect time.

The argument here isn't that Mirajane can't beat Lucy. It's that Mirajane takes a longer time to beat Lucy than it does for Natsu to beat Gajeel. Mind you, Natsu has more impressive feats than Mirajane across the board. You just have to take a look at any of his Alvarez Arc feats. JKO's argument for Mirajane being superior to Natsu isn't even that she has better feats than Natsu (because she doesn't). It's that Natsu has been randomly and inexplicably nerfed going from the Alvarez arc and the 100YQ, and for us to simply ignore everything that Natsu did during the Alvarez arc. All because in his eyes Natsu's current feats are somewhat less impressive than his Alvarez arc feats. Well, Mirajane's current 100YQ feats aren't impressive at all by any standard. So who is really nerfed? That's my point.

I'm not ingoring context at all. The meteor splitting feat was all Erza. There was an entire section of the fight where Erza was fighting Irene when Wendy was down. At that point, she wasn't getting boosted by enchantments. This is all Erza:
Mirajane, on the other hand, exhausted her entire magic power supply fighting Juliet and Heine. Irene then came in and tied her up to a rock using the same magic as Heine's ropes, and then tortured her with Juliet's jelly.
Against Erza, Irene is using actual attacks and stuff and Erza is defending well against them. She eventually decided that it was time to turn into a dragon and use her strongest attack, and Erza still destroyed the meteor. Mirajane was exhausted by Irene's subordinates to the point that when Irene got to her she could just use the magic from the swords to subdue her. Let's put that into perspective, alright? Erza, when still relatively in a bad shape from her fight with Ajeel, flexed with her magic power so much that Neinhart is now afraid of facing Erza. Irene had to personally enchant Neinhart, someone who is already a member Spriggan 12, to the point where Neinhart was unaffected by the magic of another Spriggan 12. This version of Neinhart was sent after Erza, where he was promptly oneshotted by Natsu. Natsu then went on to become enraged with END's power to fight Gray. Erza stepped in and blocked both Natsu's and Gray's all out attacks barehanded. Then she went on to face Irene. Erza at maximum POF is on a level of her own. I can very well see the argument of her being stronger than Laxus or Jellal in that state. The only person that surpasses it is Natsu when he's pushed to his own maximum POF. You can call it BS if you want, but it's still canon.

None of that matters because in the end, Irene still technically won, erza could not put her down, even with help, even at max PoF

I would argue that Natsu didn't really need FDK mode to beat Jacob. If he had hit Jacob with demolition fist right off the bat, it would have done pretty much the same damage.

The FDK mode is just a way for Natsu to light himself up with FDK flames, just like LFD mode is just Natsu lighting himself up with lightning and fire. Using a mode doesn't increase Natsu's magical reserves. It's just Natsu using stronger type of fire with the magic he already has. There shouldn't be a difference between the flames released by Fire Dragon King mode and the flames in a fire dragon king spell. It's just fire dragon king flames. If you believe FDK mode makes Natsu's flames hotter than regular FDK then what you are essentially saying is that there's a new thing called "Fire Dragon King Mode flames" and that this new type of flame is somehow different than "fire dragon king flames".

Not only that, but canonically the hottest flames that Natsu has ever used is a regular Fire Dragon King's Demolition Fist without the mode. In this instance, Natsu simply tapped into his power of feelings to boost the strength of his attack. Which is to say, he was trying harder. So really at the end of the day, the mode doesn't really matter. What matters is how much effort and magic power Natsu is putting into his attacks.

It does matter mate
Think of it this way
One character made gmg jura to use his most powerful attack, overpowered said attack and injured jura and then fell

Another character fought and beat rufus (and if we are talking about mira, then rufus with his eyes closed)

It really is sad how mishma treats mira

Quite frankly. I don't need to prove that Erza can beat Irene to prove that Erza is above Mirajane. I just need to make the argument that defeating Juliet and Heine won't exhaust Erza's magic power, and that Erza can muster enough strength to break out of the ropes coming from the sword. I welcome anybody to look at Erza's list of opponents since the timeskip, and argue with me that Juliet and Heine will manage to exhaust Erza's magic power where other's have failed. I also welcome anybody to look at Erza smashing Irene's meteor, and argue with me that Erza won't be able to slice apart the ropes coming from the sword.

How do you know that Jacob could not just tank the Demolition Fist? None of his attacks worked before.

Well the fact remains that Irene technically won, Erza was down and could not fight back while Irene was on her two feet, even Erza’s strongest attack failed.

Actually he never used his strongest attack, his strongest attack was Erupting Mt. Fuji and that was only in the MPF, Irene never went down even after using her strongest attack even when someone countered her technique with a stronger attack, and if her opponent cannot fight back, that means by definition, she won

It is an asspull
Unless Laxus was specifically training for wahl, and he knew exactly what kind of lightning wahl cant convert for his own use
If wahl had said capacity overloaded or something then we could say laxus brute forced his way through wahl immunity but that didnt happen
It is also pof, that is why you saw mavis and yuri

Fun fact laxus rune were also bs
No character in entire fairy tail verse has ever used someone else magic in a useful way
Jellal didnt use mystogan magic in a useful way against jura, he used it to hide himself. Once he started using his own magic he forgot all other magic

I was just giving an example
A hypothetical event
Happening in gmg
Jura used strongest move
Laxus overpowers it
Injures jura
And then laxus lose

Is this more impressive to you
Or erza beating rufus who had his eyes closed through out

Yes irene won
Mishma showed us that good guys did not have abilities to put down like of August or irene

Laxus was not really an asspull, Laxus has been training, but think about it, if Laxus had fought against Wall’s proxy and won, that means the real Wall would have been prepared for this and knew not what to do for next time, and he said his speciality was overcoming his own weakness.

Actually that is not true as Evergreen could even write around Jutsu Shiki, like Levy could as well, regardless of how useful their usage of said magic is, they still used it, no matter what, even Erza used Jellal’s own spell before, even Jella could cast Abyss Break, something someone else could use.

@sharkai but still didn’t happen, I wonder if Jura May have held back in secret, we knew that he didn’t use his strongest move and would have likely ended in a draw at least. it is most impressive if a person overpowers their strongest spell and even hits said user with an even more powerful spell and still stand and the opponent who already was succumbing to grievous injuries, that by definition is a win for the user.

Wait, when did Erza fight Rufus with his eyes closed?

Then laxus should have shown some secret art, king lightening dragon spell or something
Why one lightening that wahl couldnt analyse

Not in any real battle event
And levy doesnt really battle

Has natsu ever used ice make
Has erza ever used ice make
Had gray use requp

Can wendy use teleport magic
Abyss break might be a very horrible example
I think abyss break can be cast if you have great expertise over water ground fire and wind elements
Meaning if jellel can cast it then he should have water body or turn into the ground like that freaking elemental four did or that magic sucking spell aria used to do. I haven't seen jellal even use basic elemental spells in battle.
Fairy tail battle are simple. Everyone use their own magic. Even for trickery
