August opinion means nothing. He thought Hyperion was impressive bcs the loser can use vampire magic without touch.

The fact that Laxus has failed to even drop Erza or Kiria in one hit and needs RL to down Erza already shows he could not oneshot Ajeel who was on Erza's level in stats who is above Kiria.

He fodderized Kyria without a scratch so that proves something.

Yes he called Hyberion impressive but like @Axiomus said, he let GS take care of it because he knew he could and told Jacob to stand down. Why do that for Ajeel unless it was gonna do something.

During Alvarez yes Laxus>Ajeel=Erza. Just because he can't put Erza down now doesn't represent alvarez. Erza would fodderize Ajeel at this point

He never oneshotted.

Bcs August is a sympathetic old man. He listened to peace treaty bcs Brandish asked him too.

How can you say that? Erza and Laxus were both on the same level in Alvarez as shown in this fight. Yes it does mean he can't oneshot. Erza only got new weapon, but she herself as hasn't gotten any significant amps in speed, power, or durability. And as shown with Brandish saving Gray, S12s are still relevant in the PL. Even now Laxus only obtained a form that he bs his way in Alavrez to secure a win against a S12 lol. So yeah, if Erza and Ajeel fought now the predicament would be the same as before. Just Erza has stronger swords.

What do you think Erza is going to that she couldn't in Alvarez?

He was clearly never even taking the fight seriously as by his expressions when it was on panel.

Didn't look sympathetic when Brandish stabbed him and when fighting Gildarts.

How??? Erza still put up a good fight against Ajeel. Now she can enchant and has swords with Fire DS and Ice DeS powers so how would it be equal like alvarez?? She's keeping with Laxus whos a literal tank and according to Laxus has been holding back. So how can you say Erza wouldn't stomp Ajeel?

Again, Laxus not being able to put down Erza has nothing to do with alvarez since that was awhile ago and both have increased much more.

Ajeel fought Erza and withstood several attacks from her, jupiter and one attack from Nakagami ...

would never fall for a casual attack from Luxus.

-

For your argument making sense, Luxus would have to be MUCH stronger than Erza at that time ...

That is a huge difference that Erza soon managed to make today? It makes no sense.

But August never had to get involved for those did he?

Laxus' nuke>>Nakagami Armour and withstanding her attacks.

He couldn't take Bisca's blast.

EDIT: uhh yea its been a year so Erza could have made the gap smaller. Plus now she more powers to use. Look at Tartaros and Alvarez Natsu, Gray, Laxus big differences in only one year

August literally said he stepped in to save his life. The only reason to believe Ajeel, who has shown to be incorrect about his assessment of other characters be believable here? Especially over the King if Magic? What other lie does he tell to support this being his only wrong statement in the manga?

Absolutely nothing suggests that they were equals in Alvarez. Laxus beat his opponent alone. Erza was assisted in all her battles. They are fighting right now, a year later. An she is still shocked by how strong Laxus is. She’s in her red pants of fate with triple slayer attributes just to keep up.

He used an ultimate attack after several attacks. In no way he seemed he can oneshot with a casual attack.

What is that going to do? Gray's ice was useless against Ajeel and he tanked Base Natsu fire. How are either of those swords not turning into sand also? And what does that mean? Laxus couldn't blitz an S12 and never showed anything out of Erza's capabilities strength wise so it's not like he was above her stat wise in Alvarez. How is Erza touching Ajeel in Sand World or stopping him from insta draining her? How is she stopping the Sands of Death or him turning the ground under her into sand? You are ignoring key factors in the fight with Ajeel. He was not even in his element as he was in mid air yet still held the advantage and he only ever got hit by Erza was when he was distracted.

Neither have shown a stat increase. Laxus just got the power he had in Alvarez which means he was weaker than in Wall fight till the current timeline.

August said one thing and Ajeel said another. We then see Laxus never oneshot anyone on the caliber of Ajeel's level so I believe Ajeel more than the guy who was having Daddy issues and listening to peace talks with his enemy bcs Brandish asked him to.

Absolutely nothing suggest they weren't. Laxus beat his opponent through an asspull and Wall standing there and letting Laxus wail on him. Yeah bcs Erza's humble. She is easily keeping up with Laxus in his RL form and already has him sweating and bleeding while not even going full force. And I have no care for that as Laxus already showed he needed to dodge her blade strikes before she even used slayer powers. Not only that but she gets zero boosts stat wise from them.

When Erza is suprised of Laxus strength That clearly shows training withing the year. He beat a stronger s12 who is immune to his magic and sick asf of course he's not blitzing wahl. There would be no point in having August intervene if Laxus wasn't going to kill him.

Ur overrating a guy who got fodderzied by Elfman and Lisanna who laxus would one shot easily.

So because we never see Laxus blitz an s12 that means it can't happen?? An enchanted Neinhart got stomped in seconds by base Natsu, don't you think Laxus can do the same. If she has Natsu's flames then she can burn the sand the same way Natsu did by getting out of Ajeel's pit on the island

Erza saw Laxus do one move in Alvarez and she is supposed to know everything he is capable of? She also didn't know about his battle in Alvarez and RL. That S12 straight up sat there and let Laxus hit him and he also went mentally retarded for no reason. He also had a chance to massively injure Laxus yet he missed and stopped himself from killing Laxus bcs he wanted to monologue to a dead person.

Elfman was immune to his sand and the fight was off screen therefore we don't know anything of the fight. The fight was pretty much bs as well given as Elfman can nowhere near do what Ajeel did to Erza. It's like me saying Squirrel Girl can legitimately beat Thanos bcs she off screened him lol. Or the lowing showings of Flash which are atrocious to his actual PL. Laxus has zero feats of oneshotting someone who dominated Erza as soon as he got a bit serious.

He can't even blitz Erza either and Ajeel straight up dodged multiple of Erza's strikes. The only time Erza hit him was when he got distracted lol. What does Neinheart have to do with Ajeel? Neinheart has trash physicals while Ajeel doesn't. Ajeel then pushed backed Natsu after flames after Lion Pit was destroyed and tank the same flames that vaped it.

Yea that was all of alvarez deal with it. Gajeel,Gray,Erza,Natsu,Laxus,Gildarts,Jellal,Sting literally everyone should be dead but they're not. Call it bad writing or whatever but it happened and those are the feats we go off of and Laxus killed the spriggan (only one to do so) when the guy was sick and fighting someone immune to lightning.

Offscript or whatever Ajeel still got fodderized so thats that. He's not immune, he almost got sucked up in the sand pit if it wasn't for Lisanna saving him.

Ur using the logic of because we didn't see it, it never happened. August got involved for a reason and he's more reliable than Ajeel whichever way you look at it.

Last post of the night btw XD

Laxus would have killed Ajeel, he was literally crapping his pants at the sight of Laxus, why in the hell would I buy any of his bravado after that? August's opinion is unbiased, much better informed, and comes from actual experience since he actually took the attack. Ajeel was a dead man, he knew it, August knew it, which is why August was FORCED to step in.

Not really, Ajeel was immune to Erza's best stuff, forcing her to use a friggin water blade, she couldn't use Benizakura against him only her basic shit. Laxus crushed Erza's basic shit with one hit despite it being a specific counter to him, thats leagues beyond Ajeel.
With Benizakura out Erza was a match for human Eileen, who is also leagues above Ajeel. Human Eileen tier is likely where Laxus was at.

Erza was also basically Ajeel's punching bag for upwards of 2 chapters thanks to Marin. She endured Ajeels magic for the entire time it took Lucy to take a bath with Brandish and she still kicked his ass in the end.

You're using Erza after a 1 year timeskip to compare Ajeel to Laxus. That's like saying Ajeel couldn't wreck Kyoka because Kyoka put up a high diff fight against Erza.

Yeah, but I still don't see how that puts him massively above Erza. It's not like he stomped Wall, he needed a power up to do so.

He almost got suffocated but he wasn't actually harmed by the sand bcs of his immunity. And yet no one uses that as feat to put up Elfman as Erza tier so I see no reason to use it as a downplay feat.

Except he is not since his words were never presented as a fact and every actual feat of Laxus shows he couldn't oneshot. He couldn't oneshot Kiria and he couldn't oneshot Erza.

G'Night.

Except none of them had significant growth stat wise. Laxus literally trained to get back the lightning he had in the Wall fight and RL mode doesn't even increase his stats. Erza only got stronger swords from basic level High Enchant.

What are you talking about? Stat-wise? What that hell is that? Did you want her to punch someone through a mountain or something? How would anyone guess Erza's stats? Visually they're the exact same as they were at the start of the manga. Erza has always displayed her improvement by whipping out better equipment.

Pretty much every character in the new manga has shown enormous improvements over their Alvarez selves.
Lucy can now combine Star Dresses and even has her own nuke.
Elfman has a new form.
Lisanna has two new forms.
Mirajane almost certainly has a new form(I swear to god Mashima).
Erza herself has 3 new enormously powerful weapons.
Laxus finally has his own mode.
Natsu has a new FDK spell so powerful it's literally the difference between being unable to scratch a foe and putting them down.
And Wendy can friggin High Enchant.
The only characters we haven't yet seen a powerup for is Gray(who will almost certainly get one soon) and Gajeel(who got shafted with an off-paneled fight). Pretty much everyone is powered up massively, arguably more so than they did in Alvarez.

How long is the gap between Alvarez and FT100?

Not suggesting they trained hard - but I doubt they stayed idle. They have certainly upskilled, so that supports the claim FT(100) > FT (Alvarez).

Having tough battles in Alavarez makes them stronger. Their is no training like actual fighting. Natsu, Erza and Wendy topped the fighting in that arc so we should expect improvements(?).

It's one year between the last fight with Acno and the final chapter of Fairy Tail. Everyone has a party, Levy gets pregnant, etc. Dunno how long after that 100 year quest started, but it's been a year since Alvarez. So in terms of time they've had as long as their Tartaros selves had to power up into their Alvarez selves, and their improvements are certainly noticeable(except Gray for now, and Gajeel)
