And? They'll just think the dude is unconscious. DS can only see Wraith's soul, but they can't see souls like Mavis which is what Natsu's soul form is more akin to.

He also could just hide is body and use a surprise attack as well.

If someone gets there ass lit on fire after Natsu suspiciously passes out, and doesn't figure he's pulling a fast one on them, then they're retarded. Attacking his body is the only logical step to take.

Lots of people can use a surprise attack, but thats predicated on them knowing who they're going after and not simply encountering them on the battlefield. Like Mest and Brandish for example. Though tbh I doubt Natsu could do even this, his beta heaven powers are probably forgotten now, not that he really even understood them to begin with. Chances are we'll never see them again.

Since everyone seems to be doing a ranking:

1) DF Natsu/POF Natsu
2/3) RL Laxus >= Gildarts (dude managed to put down Erza, the tankiest human character in the series)
4/5) Erza >=< Base Laxus (in a straight 1 vs 1 Erza would win, but overall Laxus is the more dangerous opponent)
6) Mira (hype, even if she loses though she should be ISD Gajeel tier given how long she's been fighting the DE's)
7) FDKM Natsu
8) DeS Gray
9) ISD Gajeel
10) Base Natsu
11) Base Gray/Base Gajeel
12) The Rest (sorry, not really sure how to rank the likes of Lucy/Wendy and those below them)

Not going to touch the ranking of Jellal with a 10 foot pole until he's actually had a fight. Given his portrayal so far (and admittedly bias on my part) I want to put him around Gildarts, but portrayal is often deceiving in FT.

2. RL Laxus = Erza (Ended in a double k.o)
3. DeS Gray (Imho above Mira with his feats)
4. Gajeel/Mira (Mira hype is just hype, for now)
5. Wendy (loli is strong)

Didn't add Gildarts or jellal bc I'm too lazy to rank them. I'll just add both are strongly above base laxus

She lost to RL Laxus in a straight 1 vs 1, Laxus had to break out Red Lightning to win.

Thus Erza > Base Laxus (in a straight 1 vs 1, I maintain that base Laxus is actually the more deadly combatant to the average FT character).

Gildarts>=RL Laxus

What does Gildarts have suggesting he's > RL Laxus?

Laxus was looking to be his contemporary during Alvarez, and now he has a mode where he gets more powerful the more he gets hurt. Gildarts isn't beating that IMO, even if he can somehow crash all of Laxus' attacks (something I doubt given some of them are naturally combined with his physical ones) he has to actually put Laxus down. Outside of Erza, Laxus is one of the tankiest characters in the whole series.

If we're being fair to every character, Gildarts should be in the same situation as Jellal here. Does Gildarts have feats that top RL Laxus'? IMO, no. August was low-diffing him even with the amount of PIS he had in that fight and while being able to one-shot Hist Serena is a decent feat, base Laxus has a superior one in one-shot killing Wahl. Add in Red Lightning where he just gets better the more he gets hurt and Laxus vs Gildarts would end in a similar way to RL Laxus vs Erza IMO (maybe easier on Laxus actually, since Gildarts hasn't shown himself to be the absolute tank that Erza is).

I'm no big Laxus fan (too macho for me + lightning is boring) but his recent feats put him ahead of anyone not called DF Natsu.

I'm not counting Erza's Enchant as a new mode tbh. For the Slayers modes makes sense, not so much for Erza.

I’m sorry, could you re-explain how you ended up with Erza>Base Laxus? I mean, she needed the red pants and the DS seal boost to match his base

Gildarts will come around and have a fight that still puts him at the top. His feats are more Quality over quantity just like Laxus.

I'm waiting for gray andjellal to get more feats so I can rank those two
