Bluenote would've outright no diffed anyone else. He just overpowered his Gravity. IIRC Bluenote was never that good at CQC. That's Makarov's fault and just him being shocked since they were sleeping for 7 years. We all know Gilly would've wrecked Jura.

I don’t see the point in defending him if mashima made him stronger for no reason it’s fine he ain’t the only one.

Yes, but that's because he's actually strong, not because he somehow cuts meteors AND dragons in half with all of his bones broken (due to said dragon using a single slap). Laxus winning against overwhelming odds is actually a clutch: for Erza, it's a writer freebie.

Laxus with magic eating cancer beating a guy with immunity is your example of good writing i guess.

Why are we still debating this? Laxus is stronger than Erza. Done. They had a close battle. Some will say it would've been easier if he didn't fight Kyria which is true to a certain extent. Erza received some "questionable" new swords.

Laxus is undoubtedly the strongest mage on Aldoron.

The thing is......back in the days, there was a real case for Jellal to be made. And I'm saying this as a Laxus fan lol.

But now tho, the guy has been humiliated so much that it's not even funny lol. And nowadays, the guy is put below even Mira by quite a few here . I almost feel bad, kinda rooting for the guy now lol.
As a mage, he's very interesting (extremely versatile and actually uses magic instead of punches), but his personality is a HUGE turnoff. Hope the guy doesn't open his mouth the entire fight (unless it's off-screened :P)

That’s an incorrect interpretation of what was said though, so what’s logical about it? I mean, again the crux of our conversation is over emphasizing 1 statement and taking it out of context, while we ignore everything else said during the fight. I’m amazed how much time you spend commenting about Laxus telling Erza she has no chance against him trying to hold back. While ignoring a speech about how wrong Erza, and by extension all of you, was about the gap in their respective power. Erza cannot keep up with Laxus, as she stated in that overlong speech she gave. Let’s focus on what’s important, not Erza’s cockiness and mistake at the start, but the lesson learned by the end.

1) Laxus didn’t receive any boosts. Let’s be clear with our vernacular, his attack power went up because of his Berserker nature for RLDM, but that’s an internal ability. Now an outside help or boost.

2) Yes, because it doesn’t look like they survived the retaliation blast from Laxus. Much like none of her swords survived his final attack. Which only goes to further make a point about her biggest blow in the entire battle being reliant on outside help. She doesn’t get another solid hit like that in.

Because we saw the result. Laxus with all his power (one erza is shocked about) cant put erza down. He is barely stronger than her. He only seems to have slightly more stemina, thats it. So if erza is shocked by laxus power, it logically follows, she never thought of him as strong as herself.

Sigh, erza is not cocky, never was. Stop making things up. Erza unlike you people, is not baised (unless natsu js involved), unlike you people have better knowledge of magic. She saw laxus against hades, heard of him against jura, saw his ajeel nuke, and made a logical deduction that laxus is below her. Now she is shocked that laxus can match her and somewhat beat her.

Erza didnt get any boost, she got slightly stronger sword. Laxus got an entire freaking mode, which might even have made him faster as well as stronger(his lightening body thingy was red).
Laxus made the claim that blood powers the red lightening thing. I dont know, what am i supposed to make of it other than a boost in power.

Erza didnt get any outside help. She got a new sword. She used the fire and ice sword while holding back.

We saw after laxus statement, that they were equal. Why didnt kiria say anything about laxus being superior. There is no indication in the manga that in the final phase laxus was dominanting.
We have only indication that in the past, laxus performance would be much lower.


This why i dont take you people seriously. Any statement that even hints at laxus superiority, you people believe jt like its some sort of bible. But other way statement are ignored so fast.

Not true man. Laxus is strong, that's it. But he doesn't defeat overpowered opponents, he defeats only those who are in his league and below. Hades beat Laxus fair and square, with an attack weaker than what Makarov tanked, this was after he turned good, so yea he has lost after he turned god. He didn't get BS to defeat someone out of his league.
In fact, out of everything Laxus has ever done in the series, the only bullshit or asspull, is him pulling out Red Lightning against Wahl. Everything else was fair.

Erza, Wendy, Natsu = Mary Sue
Erza had all her bones (except those in one of her arm?) broken, and cut a damn meteor; and proceeded to one shot dragon Eileen. Erza won against Kyouka for no logical reason than 'she's Erza'. She dispelled historia by just glaring at them. She literally can't die, no matter what you do to her.

Wendy, I'm tired of explaining at this point lmao.

Natsu defeated an immortal with infinite magic power by 'savage flames', ate God flames inspite of it being established earlier that he can't. Healed through utter BS, a lethal hole in his body, against Animus from 'Lucy's tears'. The guy, like Erza, literally can't die no matter what you do to him.


IMO The best case you can make, for Laxus being a mary sue, is his illogical, exponential growth in 1 year timeskip between x791 and x792. But that applies to every relevant good character.

After this call erza mary sue, is kinda difficult.

Laxus beat jura, he nearly got one shotted in the start. But got up and fought on equal footing.
