Real Question: If Mashima has Natsu flat out state that one of the DG (Ignia, Viernes, Selene) is the single strongest opponent he’s ever faced. Would that ruin FT for you?
I don't see any issue with that.

Don't see how that would ruin FT? Should be fine

They fell out of the sky when their magic was weakened and still had their wings, Acno is no different, he didn’, those were from the faces, those were from his fists, he just moves them faster than the eye can track, I know, she meant the magical world of Ishgar, just using a direct quote, no proof that it will fill up Ishgar, especially when null energy generates. Yes it does as belief is not the same as factually true.
Thw difference is that Acnologia, even when weakened would still be more powerful than everyone else in the series. Aldoron was weakened, and he didnt crash into the ground out of weakness. I can't believe you're seriously trying to use Happy and Carla as an example of what happens to Acnologia tiers.

The blasts are very obviously not coming from Sting's fists. They are not anywhere near his hands, and a bunch of them are starting behind Sting and hitting the ground behind him.

Face does nothing to permanently stop MP from regenerating. If it did, everyone qould be permanently weakened by face, even after the parent dragons destroyed it. Null energy just helps release END. No proof it prevents people from regaining their magic. And there is proof that MP naturally fills up over time. The parent dragons lived in an age where there wasn't much ethernano in the air on Ishgal. Now there is. MP not only replenished, but increased over time.

Zeref believing that Igneel's power can kill him proves my point that he would likely be willing to work together with Igneel as opposed to starting the Alvarez war.

that does not mean he can't be weakened by magic lose too, Aldoron is a bad example choice since he cannot fly, it does not matter for tier, just that they have magic using and losing the ability to use it properly. no, they are coming from his fists, that is why he is ising light to attack directly with. because he is moving his fists faster for multiple attacks, it is a common art style. people are being weakened by Face, don't know what you are on about that, and there is evidence that areas can have less ethernanos than other areas, so there can be areas were there is no magic. it is not uniformly equal in all areas. Zeref believing that Igneel's power could kill him proves only two things, either Zeref makes statements on beliefs without facts or he is an idiot for not having Igneel kill him back then, thus making Igneel incapable of killing him.

Aldoron is a great example because he is actually on Acnologia's level nlike Happy and Carla. And it's completely irrelevant that can't fly, because Acnologia didn't just fall from the sky. He was coughing up blood, cut up, and couldn't move for several minutes. Aldoron had not of that.

Lmao. What martial art style involves punching the ground behind you? Anyone with eyes can see that those blasts aren't coming from Sting's body. You're reaching so hard that your arms have wrapped around the world and come back to cover your eyes. Which still puts your arms closer to your body than those light blasts are to Sting's fist.

Prove to me that there's one area on Earthland that naturally produces zero magic. I've already proven to you that the magic in Ishgal not only naturally replenishes, but actually grows stronger over time.

Lol....That doesn't even make sense. Zeref believes Igneel has the power to kill him. That's why he wanted Natsu to be trained by him. That's why he thought Natsu could kill him when he had Igneel's power in his arm.

No, Aldoron is a bad example since he cannot fly naturally without wings, it doesn't matter what level the person is, they are still affected and fell from the sky from the hindrance of their magic, those cuts and blood were very likely from before Face was active and losing magic was what caused him to fall. Those attacks were from his previous punches when he was in that position as that was a movement shot where both Sting was moving forward charging at Natsu who was falling back, you can see the foot steps behind Sting as well. nice try, look at the Anime version, say that again. Tenrou Island when it's magic came under Azuma's control, you are wrong, simply as that. You're theory makes no sense, either you believe that Zeref's beliefs can warp reality or not and wasted his time with not having Igneel kill him if he can factually prove that he can kill him, there is no middle ground, unless there is actual proof that Igneel's power can pull it off which there isn't.

I'm seriously baffled by how you think Happy and Carla is a better example for Acnologia than Aldoron? Like I said, Acnologia did more than fall from the sky. Acnologia was injured to the point that he couldn't get back up for several minutes. Aldoron was nerfed too, and he never suffered those injuries or fell into that condition. Besides, there's an obvious example that's better than both Happy and Aldoron. It's Igneel. Igneel is a dragon that's actually around Acnologia's level in strength, if not slightly weaker. He did not fall under face's effects, despite obviously having wings.

It's painfully obvious that those light blasts obviously don't come from Sting's body. I don't need to look at the anime version (which you always harp on about not being canon) when the manga so obviously shows us what it's actually like. The anime had filler scenes put filler scenes for this fight anyways. Not all the scenes are accurate in the fight. The manga takes precedence. Anyways, White Shadow Silk shoots a bunch of light (and shadow) beams that don't come from the body as well.

Nice try, but at no point did Tenrou Island lose it's magical power. What happened was that Azuma took control of it. The Island was still chalk full of magic power. Azuma just prevented the members of Fairy Tail from using it's power, and used it's power for himself instead.

There is proof that Igneel's power can kill Zeref. It's the story thus far summary that told us that Natsu and Zeref would have died if not for Happy stopping Natsu's final attack. You just ignore it by pretending the story thus far section contradicts itself, which it never does.

because both of them are using wings that are made from magic, it has the same results, I do not think that is how injuries work, you wouldn't get up after bleeding out for a few minutes, you would be dead, those injuries look very insignificant to cause him to fall. Of course Aldoron hasn't since the example is not applied and we do not know what those injuries were, you are making assumptions

They did, you just refuse to accept the fact they came from his fists as he moves forward, since you like using anime as reference, here is the reference:
you obviously are not well versed on how the scene is played out, Sting moves forward and Natsu falls back, those light attacks were from his punches from former position while charging, it is as simple as that.

Those threads were from his hands, just like like every other example,

It has, it is all part of his trees which is not generated outward as normally it should, it is no different from Face erasing magic as it has the same affects, Since you are going with a summary, then Spriggans are stated to be the strongest enemies in the Afterward section which is the word of god.

He was coughing up blood lol. And again, Igneel is a far better comparison to Acnologia than either Happy or Aldoron. Even if you want to make the excuse that Aldoron doesn't have wings, surely you can't believe that Happy is a better comparison to Igneel than Acnologia. Igneel would either crumble to dust to the dragon soul technique running out, or he would revert to a human form due to a lack of magic power like Mercphobia. He didn't, and still had enough MP to fly and create flames. Acnologia is stronger than Igneel.

I like using the anime for reference when it doesn't contradict what the manga shows. That particular fight with the twin dragons were chalk full of fillers that contradict the events of the manga. Various dialogue aspects of the fight were added and changed to make it longer. This particular scene doesn't follow the manga. In the anime, Sting punches Natsu a few times and then kicks Natsu to the ground from the back, and then Gajeel gets his headband sliced by Rogue. This never happened in the manga. Instead, we see Natsu just gets hit by a bunch of light blasts, and then Gajeel gets his headband sliced. Then Sting continues to pelt Natsu with a bunch of blasts before Sting uses White Dragon Claw. This is changed in the anime to String punching Natsu a bunch of times, then lifting Natsu up with his right hand, before using White Dragon Claw. We're looking at 2 different fight scenes here lol.
The manga clearly shows that Sting is spamming light beams at Natsu, not punches. How do we know this? Because we can see Sting's hands in a stationary position and some of the beams are not coming anywhere near to Natsu's body. If Sting was throwing punches, half of them aren't coming anywhere near Natsu. It's obvious as heck what it is. And no, only some of the beams come from Sting and Rogue's hands. The rest come from random directions that can't have possibly originated from Sting and Rogue's hands. The image of WSD Silk I showed doesn't have any coming from Rogue's hands. Anyways, this entire argument is a bit silly, because there's more than sufficient evidence that the parent dragons were using magic anyways.

Grandeeney had visible wind trials following her wings. Skiadrum cloaked his body with shadows that trialed behind him, and he also caused several explosions below him. Weisslogia covered his entire body in a ball of light and destroyed face. Igneel is still using fire. Skiadrum is still creating flame-like shadows (again, impossible without magic), and Weisslogia is using light beams to smash face. The very fact that the parent dragons haven't dissolved into dust means that the dragon soul technique magic is still active.

How does the Spriggans being stated as the strongest enemies contradict the statement about Igneel's power being enough to kill Zeref?

Happy is a better comparison since his wings are magical just like Acno's, when their magic is hindered they still retain their wings but fall from being weakened. that does not mean that the fires from Igneel are as strong as they were from beginning before face, even Christina had magic still, that does not mean they are at their peak when Face activates

You are full of it now, it followed the fight to a T especially in that panel you referenced since both of them are moving around and fighting CQC style with their magics and not in one spot, which you are reading wrong anyway. Hiro works closely with the anime so it fits the continuity especially with parts of the story that did not make it into the manga, the only real difference is censorship issues. Seeing Shadows wrapped around Skiadrum's body naturally, So? here is another image that shows the same thing
And that light can come from the face post destructions before fading, we do not see him casting it.

Whatever your headcanon ideas are, Light comes from Sting's body, end of discussion, we have seen that for practically every Dragon Slayer that their elements comes from their body. they were punches from his original position while moving. the other images I showed debunks your thearly about white shadow threads as they do come from the hands, have you ever considered that it was just air pressure form flying so fast? because that is what happens when you fly very fast, it is common for the other dragons too.

It does when you take whatever vague comments like you suggest at face value and treating as absolute in all areas

Happy is a better comparison than Igneel to Acnologia? Oh my lord. Igneel needs magic to maintain his wings too. Without it, he'll revert to a human form like Mercphobia.

Lol no. It has nothing to do with reading the manga the wrong way. The anime changed up action in the fight scenes. They literally play out differently. When Sting kicks Natsu to the ground in the fillers, and Natsu blocks a bunch of beams in the manga....That's not a difference in interpretation. That's 2 different scenes lol. Also, Hiro didn't always work with the anime team closely. In the beginning, he just handled the rails over the the studio and watched. He even stated he was surprised by how fleshed out Lisanna's filler scenes came out. We know that Hiro storyboarded Key of Starry Night, Eclipse, and added certain scenes to the Final Season. We also know that there was a Laxus vs Tempester fight that Hiro wanted to add that was cut from Tartaros. That's about it. The final episodes of the first series with Natsu vs Sting and Rogue is particularly full of filler scenes that deviated from the anime because it also had to serve as an ending for the season. That's why the dialogue changed so much from the manga. It's also why Lucy was awake when the fight started and had an entire conversation with Natsu. In the manga, she just muttered his name in her sleep. The entire fight scene is padded with fillers for extra runtime too.

Skiadrum's shadows are magical. Natural shadows can't wrap around a person's shadow, and Skiadrum can't produce his shadows without magic. Dragons are magical creatures. Their elemental powers are magic. Besides, there's no hard and fast rule that says dragons or dragon slayers need to shoot their elements off from their bodies. It's magic. Natsu can summon pillars of flames that never touch his body. Laxus can summon lightning that never touch his body. Wendy can summon tornados that never touch her body. Rogue can make blasts of shadows that never touch his body. Again, it's magic. Just look at Ignia's blast here. The fact that we're arguing about this is silly.

And no, I don't consider air pressure to be a believable explanation. Not when Skiadrum covers himself in shadow and Weisslogia covers himself in light for their attacks. More importantly, the parent dragons had to destroy the magic power of face. Destroying the physical structure does nothing. Face will still operate so long as the magic power is there. Unless you're telling me that pure physical force can create enough air pressure to actually destroy magic, then this isn't a believable explanation. And if you do believe that's true, then that means Igneel's strikes are way more effective than face in draining Acnologia's magic anyways.

It's not a vague comment. The story thus far says that Natsu was willing and able to destroy Zeref, even at the cost of his life. Then at the last moment, Happy stopped him before he and Zeref died. Again I ask....How does a statement in the volume afterwards where Mashima says that the Spriggans are the strongest enemies Fairy Tail has ever faced contradict Natsu being able to kill Zeref with Igneel's power?

No, he does not since they are natural to him unlike Acno or Happy regardless what form he is in, They do not, they end the same way, the only things that change are any scenes that would be too gory for he audience, there maybe scenes that are added too but doesn’t change up the outcome nor take away from the original fight. You have yet to prove they are beams, they are just light punches from Sting’s fists which he charges at a retreating Natsu, you are wrong, simple as that, Hiro had his original stories from adding in the OS backstory to Edo Makarov too, which Lisanna was part of iirc. you fail to realize that Lucy was awake during the fight with Natsu in GMG, don’t ignore it. If they are part of his natural body, then he was not using magic at all, simple as that, then by that logic, Skiadrum would die far sooner than the other Parent Dragons which contradicts your point, otherwise Skiadrum would be the strongest Dragon since he has more reserves. Actually Natsu does and he can ignite the very earth with his heat, same thing can apply to Ignia’s heat powers, Laxus uses regular lightning magic, she summons them with her hands, Rogue shadows comes from his body, He was just flying fast that the shadows create streams, it is not that hard to understand, Whatever for Weisslogia, that could just be to amplify his ramming power, in the anime, that proved to be true with wind pressure from any dragon can destroy them without hitting them. Igneel’s hits only work because he is a dragon. If that is the case then the Spriggans are stronger than Zeref and Acnologia because Hiro said they are. It is about taking words like what you said at face value, nothing more.
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

Actually now that I think about it, without their souls, Dragons can’t use magic since the soul is vital to the utilization of magic and merging with the energies of nature, thus they would turn into humans, that doesn’t make any sense continuity wise

It doesn't matter if they are natural to him. He still loses them when he loses his MP, just like Mercphobia.

Yes they do. Here, I will even point out exactly how those scenes differ. These 2 scenes look nothing alike. Natsu gets hit by a bunch of blasts in the manga before Gajeel gets his headband sliced. Sting punches Natsu once, kicks his face, and then knocks him down with a kick to the back in the fillers.
This entire exchange never happened in the manga, and is filler. None of this happens.
These 2 scenes look nothing alike. In the anime, he just throws a few punches before landing an uppercut on Natsu, and then landing white dragon's claw. In the manga, none of that happens. Sting spams a few blasts at Natsu, which Natsu tanks and then Sting hits Natsu with claw. No uppercut. If Sting is punching so fast that we see afterimages of his previous punches, why don't we see this in the anime?
I never said that Lucy was asleep the whole time. Lucy woke up midway through the fight, but she was asleep in the beginning. In the anime, she was awake the whole time. They actually cut out the scene where Lucy says Natsu's name in her sleep and replaced it with the one where she tells him that she always trusted him. Probably because they wanted Lucy to have actual lines in the final episodes.

Who says that Skiadrum's shadows are natural at all? Dragons are magical creatures and need magic for their elemental powers too. Skiadrum's shadows are clearly magical because real shadows don't behave like that. Skiadrum wouldn't be the strongest dragon because Weisslogia covers himself in light, Igneel covers himself in fire, and so forth. In fact, Igneel fought Acnologia for 20 minutes and did more than just cover himself with fire lol.

Ignia is not igniting the earth in the image I posted. He's blasting the buildings with attacks from the sky. And even if he's setting the ground on fire....Those flames still aren't touching his body. Natsu can make a wall of fire that never actually touches his body.
Rogue can make shadows erupt up from the ground with the shadows ever touching him.
This idea that the dragons or dragon slayers need to shoot their powers off from their bodies is absurd to begin with. Mercphobia lifted the ocean into the sky and then rained pillars down with it. Doesn't have to be touching. Aldoron shot trees up from under the earth. It's magic.

You still haven't explained how that statement contradicts what I'm saying. Zeref believes that Natsu with Igneel's power can kill him. The story thus far summary supports this, and other story thus far summaries has never contradicted it. The fact that the volume afterward says that the Spriggans are the strongest enemies, and we know that they aren't isn't actually relevant. At best you're saying that Mashima made a mistake on the volume afterwards. It doesn't mean that every piece of info the manga has ever given us is inaccurate lol.

You don't need to have a soul to use magic. Evidently, the dragons can all use magic without their souls. Igneel used magic to fight Acnologia, and he left his Igneel left his magic power in Natsu's arm.

that is why he was not affected while Acno was, Natsu was not hit by blasts, those were just light discharge from his punches, so what with Gajeel's headband, it is not like it saved the world or anything, besides it is off at the next moment (likely an animation oversight) they are called fillers for a reason to add things, not alter unless for good reason. Those last two scenes look exactly alike as Sting charges Natsu while delivering a barrage of light punches which the panel reflects in the anime. you are making things up now. so? and she went back to sleep by the time Natsu got into the ring, she went back to sleep sometime around when the match was about to begin, there is not continuity issue there, would be off screen. magic is a part of nature you realize, so they are just as natural as they can be, those shadows act more like dark matter/energy with how they behave with gravity. Yet Weisslogia does not emulate light constantly to waste his magic power, with only small amount of fire, he is the strongest so he would have more magic to spare. How would you know that, even Natsu blasts fire out when he ignites the ground, no difference there. It does contradict since Zeref did not ask Igneel to kill him back then which made the entire story pointless, making the story so far irrelevant. at best you could say Hiro made a mistake too. You do need a soul as Makarov stated in the beginnning of the series with Magic being a product of how the soul and nature become one, yet in 100 year quest saying dragons becomes humans (nonsensical as it is) when they lose all their magic is a retcon.

Igneel loses his dragon form if his MP is wiped, just like Mercphobia. That's assuming he doesn't crumble to dust first when the dragon soul technique becomes undone. The parent dragons is every bit as vulnerable to face as Acnologia, if not moreso because their very lives depend on magic.

I've just shown you how the anime fillers alter the fight scene. I literally showed you the differences side by side. The last 2 scenes look NOTHING alike. You claim that Sting is punching so fast that we see the afterimages of the punches, which I am mistaking as light beams. Okay. So where are they? Where's the afterimages in the anime that I am mistaking for the beams?
Alright, then where's the uppercut at the end of these exchanges before Sting uses White Dragon claw? The anime is removing stuff that the manga shows and adding stuff that the manga doesn't. What more is there need to be said?

Lucy fell asleep as soon as they brought her her keys. Then everyone left. In the anime she stayed awake for that, then Natsu stayed behind to talk to her.

Magic is part of nature. Ok sure. They're part of nature in Fairy Tail. Skiadrum's shadows are magical. I dunno what you're tryin to say with dark matter/gravity. Shadows can't take on the properties of dark matter/gravity without magic. Skiadrum's shadows, if they are anything besides the absence of light like real shadows are, are magic.

How would I know that Ignia's blasts came from the sky? Because they are hitting the top of the buildings. I don't really see the issue if it comes from the ground. It's still not touching Ignia's body.

Igneel was using magic power to fight Acnologia the whole time, and even left magic in his arm for Natsu. Evidently, dragons don't need a soul to use magic. Or maybe they do. Maybe the dragon soul technique allows bonds their souls to the dragon slayers and they share a soul. Either way, the parent dragons were using magic after face's activation.

well despite the Retcon applied here, he still has natural wings on him that doesn't require magic like Exceeds or Acno does. Acno Dragon is magic, Dragons are not, they don't have lives, their souls are gone despite not knowing how they can still use magic. Yet they prove nothing what you claim, they do as they follow the same pattern of the fight but from two different angles, you are seeing them play out, those punches are just from his previous punches before as he charges forward at Natsu who is falling back. The upper cut is something added to the fight that did not change anything, you are mistaking what is changed and added. Which she fell asleep again before the fight started. that does not mean they are any less different than Dark Matter/Energy, which is darkness. which is why I said it is more DM than shadows, black is the absence of light in general, since they are black, that fits the description. Or those attacks came from Ignia since he emits heat to cause the ground to ignite too. That is not an excuse, he is the strongest so he can pull all those off compared to the other Dragons, which is a retcon regardless when you look at it, losing the soul would mean losing your magic which would turn them back to humans and they would not be able to perform the Dragon Soul Technique otherwise.

For the 100 Years Quest, here's how I rank everyone in terms of power (up to the current chapter 76):

1. Selene - with enhanced magic power + spiritual arts in Elentir, she'd logically be the strongest Dragon God
2. Ignia - Endgame boss
3. Aldoron - at full power, Natsu needed Giant Gajeel and the guild + Jellal to help out
4. Multi-Flame "Purgatory" Dragon Force Natsu - He beat Mercphobia with just Ignia's flames, now he's incorporated Igneel's and Atlas Flame's power as well
5. 50% Mercphobia - Dragon God at half-strength, self-explanatory
6. Faris - she basically soloed the guild + Jellal
7. Fire Dragon King Mode Natsu - he got the vibe that he the strongest dude when Gildarts is not around
8. Full Power Gajeel - Mashima did state Natsu and Gajeel are pretty much equal, and their latest fight is lowkey justifiable.
9. Jellal - he's always shown to be a level above Erza, no retcon has been currently shown
10. God Seed Gears - before Jellal clapped him , Jellal was shown losing lowkey badly beforehand
11. Red Lightning Laxus - he was the slight victor in his battle with Erza
12. Dual Ice & Fire Swords Erza - she fought evenly with Red Lightning Laxus
13. Iron Shadow Dragon Mode Gajeel - if you believe Natsu was actually holding back despite Natsu himself saying he was low and he took the fight seriously, then you can continue being a circus host
