1) Yeah, but Irene didn't try to fight Acnologia and failed. She didn't harm him, but he didn't harm her also. Irene was just entertaining Acnologia until Universe One is ready to be activated. The comparison isn't good. Acnologia actually praises her mp even when they just exchanged two attacks. Wendy using 1% of Irene's power defeated a Diablos DE in DF mode, if no-DF Suzaku isn't 100 times stronger than this fellow he isn't strong as Irene. I will not put him on Irene and August level until the conclusion of this battle, he isn't the first mage to stand against a dragon and show a ''good performance'', although I agree that Acnologia wasn't serious with the others. Anyhow, we really don't know how much strength Selene is putting into this fight and if she can bring her all right now. And overcome a ''name'' spell is good, but Acnologia didn't use name spell with anyone, even when he wanted to kill the person, maybe because Acnologia's element is ''immunity'' to all elements, so he can't really use an element and doesn't have ''named elemental spells".
Irene stated she used Universe One to get away from Acnologia. Irene would've received the God Serena treatment if Acno found out she was a dragon slayer.

Suzaku and Irene both faced Acnologia level characters, with Suzaku performing better.
3) There's a Q&A that ''explains'' (not really explains seriously) that Dimaria was hit two times by Natsu, the ''boom'' END awakening when he was tied and after he thought Lucy was dead, he strikes Dimaria again. Anyway, I was thinking better and that doesn't matter, because Dimaria was in her base form (without the Chrones TO) and she seems just normal in human form, I mean, her attributes. I just remembered that she tried to attack Kagura when the latter was distracted and Kagura blocked her attack...
Dimaria stated END clapped her god form in her time space.

Gray matched that END in the Alvarez Arc.

Skullion defeated Post-Alvarez Gray.

Skullion >> Dimaria (5th Strongest Spriggan).
Brandish is seen as very strong even after 1 year, Ajeel to, and Irene more than ever.
I got Brandish as the 6th Strongest Spriggan post-Alvarez, she's above the Base Natsu/Base Gajeel level, but she's not beating Dimaria/Gray/Skullion etc.
Ajeel is a wildcard, he was beating Erza early Alvarez until Bisca fired him with Jupiter, then he later lost to Elfman and Lisanna. Erza later in Alvarez got stronger and current Erza destroys Ajeel regardless and I got current Elfman beating Ajeel too.
Irene is inside Wendy, at full power she's still a monster. Top 10 in the verse.
Wendy and Lucy still being defeated by an opponent who doesn't seem so strong to rival the Spriggans (Kiria), etc, etc.
Kyria > Jacob and Neinhart at least. She fought on par with Erza for a little while. I got Kyria above Alvarez Ajeel, she got low-diff by Laxus, but Ajeel nearly died from one spell from Alvarez Laxus.
You guys acting like ''people got some new power'' and everything just changed, but it's not like that. By the time of Alvarez Arc, some demons of the Tartaros would still strong and could rival some Spriggans (Kyouka, Silver, Mardgeer)
Cap. Maybe Mard Geer because he fought Sting/Rogue/DF Natsu and needed to be put down from Devil Slayer Gray.
But no, Spriggan 12 >>> Tartaros Demon Gates. Neinhart (the weakest Spriggan) had spawned Kyouka as historia fodder.
And I'm ignoring the ''gag'' that was Alvarez Gray and Lyon having difficulty against Ur, a character that was strong by the time of the second arc of the manga.... because at this moment Mashima was saying that the ''power scaling'' doesn't matter at all.
That was Base Gray (who's not that strong/x784 S Class level) and Lyon (who always rivaled Base Gray) against Historia Ur (Wizard Saint level). Gray oneshotted her with a standard Devil Slayer attack.

Like who?
Like the seven kin of purgatory,
Like I said before that could be for many reasons like the Spriggan were made up close to the end of the story where it seemed like Hiro just wanted to get it over with

Some people here seem like they would only change their minds when Natsu or someone else solos a planet with a Punch. Which is funny since Alvarez didn’t show DC feats on any crazy scale, and even Acno suffered from PIS and lack of feats.

I may need to go back, I don’t recall anything that would put the Kin on an even playing field.

1 - Because Skullion wasn't in the city, his AoE was just so large that it would include the city as part of it's destruction. Ajeel on the other hand was in Magnolia, and used Sand world to surround it.

2- So? How does Ajeel fighting better when in a battlefield suited to his magic, mean he's not weaker than Skullion? Skullion can avoid all Ajeel's attacks regardless of where they fight, this is just another point in Skullions favor.
You just made up everything about Skullions magic, nothing suggests he needs the sea to spread. It's like me saying Ajeel needs to be flying in the sky to use Sand World, completely random and meaningless.

3- Nothing prevents Ajeel from doing so, true, there's also nothing that suggests he would. But even if he did try to use Sand World straight away, Skullion could just hit him with Black Ash first, Black Ash is a significantly faster spell. Ajeel doesn't completely merge with Sand World for a long time. And even if Skullion decided to wait around and allow Ajeel to use Sand World, because he knows Ajeel is such a weakling, Skullion still wins by using Absolute Ash to turn Sand World, and Ajeel, into nothing. All roads lead to Skullions victory, and Mirajane would fuck up Ajeel too.
1) Yeah, but it's a port city, so the city is close to the sea, Magnolia is a big city, so you're only making assumptions, it's not clear who has the bigger AOE.

2) - 3) Skullion needs to turn something into ashes, he didn't show be able to ''summon'' ashes to cover the city, so a battlefield with huge elements to turn into ashes should be good for him. I'm not saying he needs to fight in the sea, but it's a good scenario for him counting how his magic works. He only used ''Black Ash'' after creating a vortex of ashes first, which would be swallowed by the Sand World. Ajeel could just merge with the sand and scape in the sandstorm or underground (if the ground is sand ground). There's no guarantee that Skullrion's performance would be good under a sandstorm, once small winds cast by Wendy could overcome his ashes. Basically, under the sandstorm his ashes would '' be flown'' and Ajeel would be able to grab him and drain the water from his body.

I will not keep this ''debate'', because I have enough reasons to keep my mind that Ajeel isn't far from Skullion (the base level at least). Actually, he has everything that needs to win, because he can overcome his intangibility, which is the major % of Skullion's strength.

1) Irene used Universe One to throw away Acnologia from the war.
So what? Irene mp was praise by Acnologia even when they just exchanged two attacks and she defeated a Diablo Dragon Force Dragon Eater with 1% of her power. Irene has one goal: take Acnologia from the war and fulfilled it. Suzaku's mission is to kill Selene and he will not do that. How much Irene would resist against Acnologia in a serious fight you can't say, as well you can't say how much strength Selene is putting in this fight.
Jellal cast a barrier that tanked an attack launched by Acnologia on Erza and Wendy AFTER Acnologia smelled that Erza was Irene's relative and that Wendy was a Dragon Slayer and Acnologia ever transformed after eating some attacks from Jellal, which means that he was serious, while Selene is saying to Suzaku ''dance human, dance....''. He didn't prove to be in August and Irene's level just with that.

2) That doesn't matter, because it was never explained how End overcome the stopped time. If Natsu END and Gray were so strong, Erza wouldn't stop their attacks with bare hands.
Brandish trolled Skullion's magic by making Gray very very small, so it was stated that if she became very small she would overcome the ''Black Ash'' magic cast by Skullion. It was never stated that Skullion's mp is beyond a regular Spriggan level, so he can't overcome Dimaria's time. So Dimaria > Skullion and Brandish > Skullion.
Brandish can beat Dimaria if she wants, she just needs to fight with killing intention, if she enlarges Dimaria's heart, she would win. The thing is the first one of the two to cast their magic wins.

3) Neinhart actually defeated Erza with some Historias. Kyria isn't above him without plot restrictions. Laxus fought Kyria basically with martial arts, what makes you think that he couldn't one-shotted her? Erza almost defeats Kyria using the empress of fire armor, and this armor isn't used as a finalization armor.

Kyouka could challenge some Spriggans too, can they fight without 5 senses?
Ajeel was praised for cover all the city with sand, Silver did "something similar" with Sun Village without intention apparently when was hunting ''Atlas Flames'', why couldn't he be a good opponent for regular Spriggans?
Neinhart can create Spriggans Historias too and if he can create only one Spriggan, God Serena for example, with almost all strength, he can defeat others Spriggans.

Even if it was base, is Gray only strong with Devil Slayer powers? His base level didn't improve much since the beginning? Ur was fighting against two opponents. Ikaruga when was alone as Historias was able to cut Erza. Ikaruga is an opponent from the beginning too and Erza doesn't have a ''base form'', she improved during the series as a swordsman. Have I mentioned that Mashima didn't make clear if all Historias are weaker than their original self or only the Spriggans versions were? Because if all Historias are weaker than their original self it only makes those things worst.

1. Port city =/= small. But sure, it's not clear who has bigger AoE, that's fair.

2. Skullion doesn't need to "summon" ashes to cover a city, the function of the spell is turning things to ash, he turns the city into ash.
Why would Skullions Ash be swallowed by Sand World? That's not what Sand World does, it does not prevent spells. Skullion uses Black Ash and Ajeel dies.
Ajeel's magic isn't wind, it's sand, he makes the sand move, and Skullion can turn Sand into Ash.

3. No he doesn't? You haven't even established a method for Ajeel to hurt Skullion, all you've argued is that if he's fighting in the right location, he may be able to dodge some of Skullions attacks.
Ash doesn't need water, so dehydration is pointless. Physical attacks just phase through Skullion, so Sand Axe, Sand Blades and Sand Monsters don't work. Skullion can teleport, so Sand Tsunami and Sand Choke doesn't work. Ajeel has nothing. Skullion wins this without taking damage.

How much Irene would resist against Acnologia in a serious fight you can't say, as well you can't say how much strength Selene is putting in this fight.
Acnologia could oneshot Irene at any time, Irene used the best possible spell to get rid of Acnologia.
So what? Irene mp was praise by Acnologia even when they just exchanged two attacks and she defeated a Diablo Dragon Force Dragon Eater with 1% of her power.
Selene said that fighting Suzaku is as if she's fighting a dragon (Kumugi). Irene never inflicted damage on Acnologia in their skirmish. Suzaku inflicted a wound on Selene (who's Acnologia level).
Jellal lost 5v1 against August, he's not on August/Irene/Suzaku level.
That doesn't matter, because it was never explained how End overcome the stopped time. If Natsu END and Gray were so strong, Erza wouldn't stop their attacks with bare hands.
Erza stopping Natsu and Gray doesn't correlate to END beating Dimaria. END was just stronger than Dimaria who later fought even with Gray.
Brandish saving Gray doesn't correlate to Brandish > Skullion. Skullion has way better feats than Brandish. Skullion beat Gray who was equal to END who overcame God Soul Dimaria in her timespace. Dimaria ain't beating Skullion who has better feats than her.
Brandish can beat Dimaria if she wants, she just needs to fight with killing intention, if she enlarges Dimaria's heart, she would win. The thing is the first one of the two to cast their magic wins.

Neinhart actually defeated Erza with some Historias. Kyria isn't above him without plot restrictions. Laxus fought Kyria basically with martial arts, what makes you think that he couldn't one-shotted her? Erza almost defeats Kyria using the empress of fire armor, and this armor isn't used as a finalization armor.
Erza was weakened from the Ajeel battle, and she defeated the historias. Neinhart later got enhanced by Irene just to get one punched by Base Natsu.
Neinhart can create Spriggans Historias too and if he can create only one Spriggan, God Serena for example, with almost all strength, he can defeat others Spriggans.
Historia God Serena >> any form of Neinhart, he overpowered Team Natsu and he inflicted damage to Gildarts.
Even if it was base, is Gray only strong with Devil Slayer powers? His base level didn't improve much since the beginning? Ur was fighting against two opponents.
Gray' base form isn't that strong, he needed his devil slayer form to beat the Thunder Legion.
Erza wasn't fully recovered from the Ajeel fight, and she later clapped Ikagura, Azuma, and Kyouka all at once.

So let’s be honest. Who read the Moon and Planet level feats and decided it doesn’t affect their scaling. 👀

Me. Because manipulation of moon and dimensions is basically what her magic is.

An how would that invalidate the feat? Changing the moons size requires either a large creation of mass, or she’s moving the moon closer, both of which break the verse. An affecting another planet would be less impressive if she was currently holding some portal open. All she did was power up, and it’s still affecting the other world. An entire world at that.

Because physics and conventional logic isn't applicable in FT.

It happens because that's how her magic works. Acno can't do it, even after being powered by timelapse. None of the other DGs (Merc and Aldo def can't, Ignia likely won't since he looks to be Igneel 2.0) can do it.
So, unless Selene >>>> Acno and other DGs, what she's doing isn't an indicative of how powerful she is, but how her magic works.

I don’t get your argument. If you mean that logic and physics don’t restrict what their capable of, then yeah wholeheartedly agree. If you mean we can’t ascribe any of our basic knowledge to scale then I gotta part ways with you. She is either moving the moon closer, or physically enhancing its size. Regardless of if that’s just how her magic works, she has to have the necessary energy to create the effect. Same for messing with the the tides of a seperate planet. An since theirs no spell being dedicated to either event, it means she is capable of such feats without real effort.

I have to agree with grey matter here. Going by Fairy Tail's logic she doesn't necessarily need to have "enough magic power to affect the moon". It's enough that she has "Moon Magic" of some sort: magic especialized in manipulating the moon, which could be possible with any little amount of magic Mashima thought was necessary. It's not the same as "brute forcing" the moon closer with gravity magic or affecting it with Brandish kind of magic; it's simply magic that's designed to interact with the moon.

Does it make perfect sense? No, as does close to nothing in Fairy Tail, but affecting the moon is really no indication of her power or mana pool, even if it's probably going to be pretty big anyway as the DG that she is.

Yes, logic and physics doesn't restrict what they are capable of. Precisely why we cannot use "calcs" to scale characters

I'm not saying we can't ascribe ANY of our basic knowledge to scale.
I say we can't abscribe any of our basic knowledge when MAGIC is involved.

When it comes to pure destruction, like Acno destroy an island, Motherglare destroying a mountain, August destroying a country etc; I have no problem using physics and conventional logic.

Selene is doing stuff to moon because she has lunar magic. And is affecting Earthland by powering up because she has dimensional magic. They are not an indication that she's planet level or something, because that is a result of the very nature of her magic.

This exactly. Feats as a result of brute force, and feats as a result of the nature of magic have to be treated differently IMO.

Like, if we are going to use physics in FT, Brandish is creating mass and Dimaria is stopping time. Imagine the energy involved here lmao.

I mean if Selene can actually chuck the moon at someone, then maybe we can talk about moon level stuff. For all we know, the big moon could just be an illusion.

I mean, it’s makes sense the way it’s described. I don’t understand ignoring shown feats, because we don’t have the exact mechanics for them. It makes little sense to assume for it to just be an illusion with him taking the time to also show how her magic is effecting the tides on Earthland. Mashima making it clear he can’t explain the mechanics, part of his like for magic, doesn’t mean they don’t exist. Affecting a moon sized object requires a certain amount of force. The same is true for affecting oceans. An they make it abundantly clear in FT time and again you have to have the strength to cast something. An we are shown plenty of other evidence of the consequences of doing so. Like Natsu training on boulders, even though Dragon Fire burns everything, he wasn’t strong enough to accomplish it. An now he can vaporize mountains with ease just like dad could, because he can produce enough power after years of growth. They keep making a point of how awesomely powerful these DG are, why assume the provided examples of what they’re supposed to be without hindrance are tricks? This is Mashima, the hype king.
