Purgatory doesn't start colossal, it expands with distance. The areas closer to Natsu are less likely to be destroyed than the areas further away. Same with Demo Fist. It's AoE is much bigger than the guild, but since the guild was fairly close Natsu only ended up blowing a hole in the wall, not even to the second story.

but the pillar wasnt expanding. it seems cylindrical in shape

yes it does, and that means he is at full power, I don’t know why mentioning not valuing life allows people to get closer, don’t add anything. Crazy again, and he was kicking him around and even turned back to fight Natsu, so he wasn’t serious in his attack, he even said anymore after when he shot a hole through Larcade, that mean he didn’t intend to kill him, the only issue was size, which if he fights Aldoron God Seed, he would have no problem doing so, he would just teleport onto his back to do so, the Phoenix fireball was larger than the city, it was not contained to the city, that is how eye sight Works and here is a gif where it shows how small the city is compared to the explosion https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/v...re_Ball.gif/revision/latest?cb=20190925204903. Especially something from high up in the atmosphere covering the sky it much larger than the city. YOf course they are the same because they are all virtual, except for the trees on the ceiling which are random, you clearly did not see the next panel which is random assortment of vines on the ceiling, you keep saying that the panel showed vines one the ceiling so there, again, you are not seeing the whole picture there with wha tu mentioned, and thaf second pic you posted of the walls you posted are basically vertical. Yeah, that last panel looks like the panel that you did not talked about. Since you are looking at visuals alone (and that you are not getting the point of this discussion yet), you should notice how angles are off in both panels between Natsu’s attack and the giant pillar as well as the size different and the area of effect and the evidence around as Sharkai said.

sorry to butt in
i dont really agree with this topic of discussion
but
if natsu made a pillar of fire, diameter being a couple of miles.
then there should be nothing around natsu.
no walls, and no roof.
There should be nothing above Natsu. Aldoron is huge, and he’s in his body not some cave. The blast went directly up and out.

Also, why are people debating what they said the Phoenix could do? It was clearly stated, the comparison clearly made, and at this point Mashima has quelled all conversations of canonicity as he has actively mentioned each movie in the manga itself, and his anime only arcs. Like thought this was solved.

Yes, it was. A roar ends up looking pretty cylindrical too. But it still starts off small, and then increases to full size.

This is incorrect too. There would absolutely be walls still around Natsu's area. They were fighting inside of Aldoron. The area above Natsu would be destroyed, and it was, but the area around Natsu was still mostly intact until Aldoron crumbled fully away.

There was nothing above Natsu. There's a pretty sizeable cave, or rather cavity, inside of Aldoron's body. It's where Natsu and Aldoron fought. The blast did go up and out.

I am not debating the statements of Pheonix being a surface wiper. We're talking aboutthe visuals here. WoWfan is making the argument that we see visually that Pheonix's attack was huge. The fireball itself was shown to be smaller than a city. The shockwave was as large as a few mountains, but never actually destroyed anything. It just parted a few clouds. Deus Sema created a bigger shockwave when it entered the atmosphere.

Show me one example of Ankhseram's curse triggering the death wave when Zeref doesn't value life.

Of course Zeref would have problems killing Aldoron. His curse would never fire off because he doesn't care about Aldoron. Even if he did start caring about life, and his curse started firing off, Aldoron would just send one of his seeds to knock him out.

Yeah, that's not the fireball. That's the shockwave from the fireball exploding. It didn't actually end up destroying...well anything. It just parted some clouds in the sky. Irene's meteor made an even bigger shockwave when it entered the atmosphere.

What is this nonsense about verticle and horizontal vines? Here's the number of verticle vines from the wall you think is the ceiling. Notice how bits of debris is falling down from higher than what the frame shows, which would make that background there the wall.
Here's the number of horizontal vines from the wall.
You know what all this tells us? Absolutely nothing. The idea that we're supposed to look at how the vines are drawn to determine the layout of Aldoron's torso cavity is ridiculous. It's an exercise in insanity. Aldoron is a mass of plantlife. Here's a far more sensible comparison of visuals. You see these rings of fire around Natsu's punch here?
You see how the same rings of fire are around the pillar of fire coming out of Aldoron's back? They're the same attack.
But lol, it shouldn't even have to come down to this. Anyone whose not being obtuse can figure out that the pillar of fire erupting from Aldoron's back is part of Natsu's attack. Notice how all the Fairy Tail members are gawking at the pillar, and then quickly deduced that Natsu just won? If the members of Fairy Tail staring at the giant pillar of fire could tell you that Natsu did it, then we as the audience should clue in. I cannot stress how stupid it is to make an argument on the verticality and horizontalness of roots growing inside Aldoron's body, when we have Lucy and Gray gawking up at the giant pillar of fire and figuring out it was Natsu.
This is definitely going to be a topic I'm coming back to collect when the anime makes it explicitly clear that what is erupting from Aldoron's back is Natsu's flames. This is ridiculous.

here is where Zeref used the Death Wave without valuing life, https://v2.mangapark.net/manga/fairy-tail/i1628731/6-3, And since you are so open to anime, look at when Zeref kills Hadoes and you can see the same death wave animation there, Again, the black magic doesn't have to be above one individual, but life in general, it is indiscriminate, that would depend if those seeds can get close enough, before the death wave gets to them, it was going to reach the ground of the entire world if FT had not stopped the Phoenix, not the same thing as being unable to. what you did was just drew lines across opposite lines of the vine, they were obviously from the same ceiling of the room they are in so that means that the attack did not break through the roof of the ream and it is the same roof that crumbled down, your images just prove my point that they are still in the vertical and upper angle degrees, those are just just flary form of fire, too rugged and not linear to the other pillar design, you have just proven that they are not the same even in design, and that is what the result is by only going by design alone and not including anything else. they were gawking in surprise, they were asking if Natsu won, if they knew he won then they would have said something like "What is that pillar of fire" or whatever, but they were worried because Aldoron was coming apart.

Who dies there? Zeref's little minion is still alive there.

The black magic when he kills Hades was an actual spell, not Ankhseram's curse. The brain seed is going to beat up Zeref faster than Ultear would anyways.

Alright, assuming Pheonix is indeed a surface wiper if the fireball hits the ground, you still haven't answered my question of where you rank FH Zeref and Natsu's final attacks. You claim that Zeref scales to Pheonix. Well, FH Zeref is stronger and Natsu is even stronger.

We never see the ceiling, because the actual ceiling is where the debris is falling down from....And that's coming from a place too high out of frame. I'm not even going to get into the verticle/horizontal vine nonsense.

Dude. They were rings of fire. It's a pillar of fire. Flarey form of fire? Lol. Fire is fire. It's not like Aldoron has fire magic, or would set himself on fire for no reason. The FT members figured out that Natsu just won because they were looking at a giant pillar of fire, and figured out it came from Natsu.

Is that minion even considered a living thing? besides clearly one can dodge it based on height or whatever, even Zancrow died instantly after Zeref awakened, not going with your logic with using anime as a reference as that is clearly the black mist of his death wave. God Seed doesn't even have Ultear's magic to protect her. I literally did answer several posts ago, higher than Multi-continent level. We did see the ceiling when the thicket arms first appear as Natsu looked up, not really out of frame there, clearly it is the same as when we see it as the final panel after Aldoron's defeat. it was basically a fire ball, apart from what is a energy pillar of some kind, no proof that was fire either well we see fire from the horns of Aldoron and does create explosions, why Natsu needs to dodge, PIS, Gray literally asked "did Natsu win?" which is opposite of confirmation, and they had to get out of there because Aldoron was falling apart.

Same difference, really. Ability to reverse time was something he could only do with FH.

Not the same lol. Zeref's curse only takes life when he values life. The black magic that Zeref is using when he doesn't value life isn't the curse, and doesn't insta-kill. Zeref's hit Natsu with it a bunch of times and even blasted a hole in Larcade's stomache. It doesn't insta-kill.

If Zeref actually values life and triggers the curse around Aldoron, his magic gets nerfed to the point where Ultear can beat him. Aldoron would just step on him, or send one of his seeds to take him out. The curse ain't killing Aldoron before Zeref gets stomped.

Hoo boi. Here we go with the multi-continental thing again. You just said that base Zeref is a surface wiper because he scaled to pheonix. Now you've scaled down both FH Zeref and Natsu to multi-continental. Also, Ignia and Aldoron both talk about Natsu's new flames burning the world. By your flimsy standards, that makes that attack a surface wiper too. So which is it?

You mean the top right panel here?
That's the side of the wall. Not the ceiling. The debris falling down around Natsu is the rubble coming from the ceiling, and it's falling from out of frame, where the ceiling actually is. BTW, this is an absurd detail to make the argument on. We see the beam of fire from Natsu's attack bursting from Aldoron's back. And when the anime comes, we're gonna see it in color.
Eh, about that. The Multi-Continental is because of both August and Irene’s manipulation of Fiore, which is continent sized with the dimensions provided in the manga. Technically since he was going to vaporize it, August should be much higher, vaporization scales higher because of requires energy, but people are willing to accept continental because they don’t like the idea of FT being stronger. Natsu and Zeref are a tier above them based on feats, and now with 100YQ so are the other S class. With the moon manipulation from Selene the God tiers hit small planetary if lowballed to her pulling the moon, large planet if calced as she actually made the moon bigger. An since Selene has yet to cast a single illusion, there’s no point wasting time trying to explain why we should suddenly assume that’s what those flexes were. Especially with her affecting worlds in seperate dimensions. Which only served as a boon for battle board posters since it fits as the next natural progression of tiers with our scaling and comes across as a massively unrealistic jump from those trying to cap the verse at Igneel’s mountain feat, or suggest Spriggan are only island level despite what was clearly stated several times and shown. So at this rate, yeah, Natsu will be planetary. (like Haru, Ziggy, Endless, Justice, Drakken Joe, and several other Mashima characters) Which fits in with Mashima’s normal EOS scaling for his characters.

Yes, it is.

Ultear spammed orbs at Zeref. Time magic is useless against death wave anyways.

Is it above planet level or not? Because that's where you have base Zeref at.

We see the vines in the ceiling, and we see the vines on the wall. They look basically the same. The vines that you think is the ceiling look more like the image of the wall than the image of the ceiling tbh. Anyways, none of this matters. The debris falling down is falling from a place higher than what the frame shows. That tells us that the actual ceiling is higher than what we can see, and that those vines are the wall.

Aldoron's beams of magic is not fire. The things on his horns could be anything, but whatever. The anime will make it clear that the pillar of fire is Natsu's.

Lol they didn't even know Natsu got sucked down to Aldoron's chamber. They literally didn't even know Natsu was fighting Aldoron. The only reason they even thought about Natsu was because they could see the pillar of fire coming out of Aldoron.

Even if the FT planet is many times larger than our Earth, and Fiore is the size of a continent, nobody in Fairy Tail is even close to surface wiping or planetary. They would have to be striking with enough force to destroy a planet, or mass equivalent to that of a planet. That simply doesn't happen in FT. We see the effects that attacks have on the environment, and that takes precedence over any sort of scaling or calculations. Natsu at his best can maybe destroy a few mountains with his best attacks.

If you try to pass off Natsu as planetary in a debate against other works of fiction, nobody is going to take you seriously. The only thing that can maybe be passed off as continental is August's ars magia. That's assuming we believe the statement about it vaporizing Fiore. Stuff like Irene's universe one would just be considered unquantifiable, and not representative of striking strength, and rightfully so.

regardless it can be dodged when you are face down on the ground, If you rely on anime as you say you did, that is basically untrue as Ultear absorbs the deathwave and reverse time to bring back to a proper state. It is simply above Multi-Continent level it is as simple as that, they look quite different, especially on the ceiling not vertical compared to majority of the images of vines on the walls being vertical as well, again wrong because if said attack is as big as you claimed there would be no higher ceiling since it would be all gone, we can already see the ceiling before Aldoron's death, of corse they are not since that is how the main body dies, but anyway. of course they don't, just like they don't have confirmation if it was Natsu's attack or if he won, why give confirmation to people who clearly don't know anything, actually in context they just said did he do it, not sure if it was Aldoron or Natsu who won? and wrong, Happy, Carla and Happy knew that Natsu was battling Aldoron, Although, Lucy had a feeling Natsu was inside, if someone like Lucy knows than anyone knows.

Orbs aren't alive in the first place. She's literally just changing it's colors doing that. But whatever, because Aldoron can just copy Ultear with Wolfen. Heck, he's already copied Zeref himself.

"Above multi-continental" doesn't mean anything. You said that Pheonix can surface wipe the planet of FT, which apparently is much bigger than our Earth. So that would make Zeref planetary. Are you saying FH Zeref and Natsu are planetary or not?

There is no ceiling that we can see. The debris falling down is the burnt remains of the ceiling. Btw, if Natsu hadn't burned away the ceiling, which he did, then he would get crushed by all that mass above him. That didn't happen. Oh, and that reminds me. The walls were falling apart too. It wasn't one continuous wall. It broke off into smaller chunks.
So the fact that that some of the vines aren't vertical could easily be attributed to the fact that the whole place was coming down and the chunks were falling out of place. Not that I'm accepting the ridiculous assertion that Aldoron's walls can only have vertical vines. The mere fact that the debris around Natsu were falling from a place higher than what we can see in the frame tells us that the ceiling is above what we can see. You see how the smoke rises? They're rising towards the ceiling, parallel to the wall.

No they didn't. At best, they knew Natsu was going to try to stop Aldoron when he left the church, but that tells them nothing. Everyone in FT was trying to stop Aldoron. They would have had no clue that Natsu got sucked down into Aldoron's chambers or that he was fighting the Aldoron seed. Lucy didn't know where Natsu was either. At best, she sensed he was in danger.

It affects even non living things like scarfs or orbs, it crumbles just like most flora shown, don't be selective again, Ultear would instantly die since she doesn't have an orb to help her lol, I doubt that he can copy himself, that was not shown. It does it means he is already above it with FH, in fact he would be considered Universe level with Neo Eclipse at his peak. You don't seem to understand much about calculating things and method of destruction, just because surface wipe is high doesn't mean it's planet level, even a tier higher is Moon level, it is as simple as that without making any assumptions, they are simply higher than Multi-Continent level. then that means the blast Natsu made and the pillar that killed Aldoron's main body are not the same, you really think that some debris can stop someone who can warp time? he can easily escape it, besides the pillar would have cleared away most of it anyway from above. yet we did not even see the walls at that panel. most of the vines are, don't really see it as higher since they are relatively the same, it does, it tells them that Natsu is going to fight Aldoron, and knowing him nothing would surprise them what he would do, they don't even know what was going on, not everyone knew, they were just going with the flow until someone filled them in, they were just running around, again people already have any idea where Natsu is and what he is doing, that means she feels him in the middle of all that because friendship.
Sure, once it reached a certain size it stopped expanding, like a final flash or something, Demolition Fist does this too
actually it is still about angle even for Final flash since Vegeta was already on a higher ground, and the beam just looks like it bounced away.

Huh? No, look at the next few pages, Final Flash starts out Vegeta size and then gets bigger.
but reaches a standard size which he aimed down which then aimed back up again unless he can curve it somehow

Sure... I'm not sure what that has to do with my argument though. And Vegeta can curve it i'm pretty sure, all ki blasts can be curved.

if so, then it is not really comparable here though.

We already knew that Ultear could fix her crystal ball with arc of time. I didn't think it needed to be said. The only new thing Ultear is doing here is changing the color of the crystal ball. Which doesn't matter lol. If anything all that tells us is that a crystal ball could let you defend against Zeref's death wave lol. Ultear then oneshotted Zeref with luminous minutes.

Even if Aldoron can't copy Zeref himself, he can copy anyone Zeref knows....Which includes Natsu. So he'd just copy Natsu, and have Natsu beat him. Or again, anyone stronger than Ultear.

Let me get this straight. It is more believable for you to assume that Natsu warped time to escape getting crushed by Aldoron's mass coming down on him....Than it is for you believe that he simply killed blasted a hole in Aldoron with a giant pillar of fire?

I'll say it one last time. That's a wall, not the ceiling. The debris is falling from above what the frame of the panel shows, and Natsu is right under them. That makes all the vines we see far off in the background, and they are oriented parallel to the downwards motion of the debris. That makes it a wall.

yet it did not break from external force, just naturally due to the Black Magic, she did not change the color, it just died from the Death Wave and Ultear reversed it, it does, which is something Aldoron sorely lacks. Weakened Zeref, full power is different, he only copies a Natsu that would be weak and can't kill him, Ultear same, it was stated that his flames heat affected time itself, which is a known phenomenon called Energy Stress Tensor for Zeref, again, that other pillar apart from Natsu would clear most of the debris anyway. And I will say this more times, that is the ceiling, not the wall as the image showed directly above Natsu, the debris was falling form the ceiling above as it was clearly breaking apart from Aldoron's defeat, especially how they are close to Natsu when from viewed beneath him twiced, again we see the, they are not far off in the background. that makes no sense for them to be downward from the wall when they would slide down the wall then away from Natsu and roll towards him

The orb....died?

.....What?

.... The orb is glass. It can't die. It's not alive. It can't die, because it's not alive. It broke because it was under stress. That's how glass usually breaks. Ultear fixed some broken glass and got rid of whatever was left in it. Evidentally Ankhseram's curse can stain inanimate objects and turn it black. That's not killing. That's....staining, I guess. Btw, are you implying that Ultear can just reverse death?

Aldoron can literally make 5 orbs to house his power. He is literally better than anyone at making orbs.

Why would the copy of Natsu be weak?

So you're telling me that Natsu made flames so hot that he burned time.... Offscreen and after he defeated Aldoron? Lol it gets better.

Right, the other pillar of fire that just spontaneously erupted from Aldoron's back when Natsu fired off his attack? That one? Got it. By the way, mind explaining what that pillar of fire actually is then? I can't wait until the anime shows us the color for Natsu's mixture of Igneel, Ignia, and Atlas Flame's flames....And then shows us the pillar of fire.

You see all the debris falling inches besides Natsu? You see how there's a bunch of vine chunks above Natsu? That's all in the foreground. You see how the vines which you think is the ceiling is behind the chunks above Natsu? That's because it's in the background. They're not above Natsu. They're far off in the distance. That's also why they're so small. If they were directly above Natsu, like the previous panel of the ceiling with thicket showed, they would be pretty substantial in size. In fact, I would go so far to say that the shot of ceiling when Aldoron was using thicket looks absolutely nothing like the shot of the wall you think is the ceiling on size alone.
