Regarding Gajeel, you countered my argument by mentioning that he faced Aldoron, as if it were a great feat. And it also implied that Gajeel only faced powerful opponents and, therefore, had bad results. It's not true, he faced Metro's golems and also had a bad result. His best achievement is facing Natsu in the Aldoron arc. End.
What you can't understand is that Lucy is evolving at a surprising speed, while other characters are not having the same development. But that's normal, Lucy spent years without proper development, while characters evolved. A good example is Gray himself.
