Moedred will most likely be featured in the next pickup summon event. I would definitely wait. Are you even serious about wasting your quartz for Jack (who was unbearable in Apocrypha) while Moedred is within your/our grasp?

My best assassin is Jing Ke who, IMO, suuuuuuuucccks. B tier my ass. She's like -Z tier. So that's why the temptation is there. I also have well above the amount of quartz and tickets I intended to have. So I could roll like 3 times and not be too bothered by it.

That being said, yeah, it was a fleeting desire.

I am gonna roll for jakkun as soon as she is out but only gonna use 30 sqs.
Rest are for arjuna and my bride Nero.
I currently have only 90 sqs with extra 9 for maintenance.
If rolling for jakkun fails, gonna roll for king hassan as assassin support after 6 months.
I think after a year or two of fgo, my party is only gonna have servants with instant killing nps

Well I got tempted because Jack is by far the best assassin for a long time and also provides a nice bonus for the socks, but ofc I didn't get her... ended up rolling three times and didn't get the 5* CE either Guess my luck has run out, I only get 5* when I don't aim for them (besides Waver, but that was in the guaranteed gacha). Oh well, at least I got three copies of the 4* CE and two Nursery Rhymes, though one would've been plenty xD With that I again own all Casters available in the game, for some reason I seem to attract them hard, like the totally unexpected Tamamo I got during my second 10 roll back then wih Halloween good news for Merlin? Better not even think about it

Oh well, this event still seems like a lot more fun than GudaGuda, with the whole raffle thing. Had to push some Servants, because even the 20AP node takes annoyingly long with the bonus Servants I own (Marie, Martha, Nursery Rhyme) + using Robin (who's prolly by far the best 3* to use in this event) and some other 3.

As for grailing, it's MOSTLY done for Servants you love and like. Honestly, you have to use 5 grails to get a 5* Servant from 90-100, and most of the time the difference isn't really that huge. Use it on Servants you love, because strategy-wise it's not of big importance. Personally I grailed my Saber Alter and Herc to 90, but they at least get 5 levels per grail until 90, and I like both quite a bit, so it was a win-win for me. 100 I would only do for Saber Alter, but I haven't decided yet.

And IIRC, FGO JPdidn't even have 40 Grails yet, so it really is a damn rare material. Still, that allows you to push seven to eight 5* Servants from 90 to 100, so there's no need to be all that worried if you don't have like 10 favs you wanna get to hundred, though ofc it will still take around one and half years until we get anywhere near that Grail number on the US version.

TLDR level servants you love, let your heart speak, not your brain. Though naturally, a great Servant can become slightly greater with a Grail, so if you love none, just go for the ones you think will stay most relevant or are all-around awesome.

What are you guys initial impressions of the Christmas Event?

Seems pretty good so far to me. Grindy but not to the degree GudaGuda was. Progression is definitely a lot faster which makes sense seeing as it's shorter. I have all 4 store copies of the CE already and have completely cleared the first lottery box: and I swear I didn't even farm that much. Story may be the weirdest one yet; which is saying something. I also feel like FGO is 3 for 3 on good free servants now.

It's still too early to comment on the current event for me, since I also didn't have much time to spend in the game today. But solely based on my feels, it looks much easier, better and faster than the GudaGuda event.

I wholeheartedly agree. Can't say exactly why, but the whole event feels like a lot more fun, for various reasons.

I guess I did have the advantage of leveling up right when I started playing and I am using goldy apples as I draw them from the box. So I've used like 3 of those now, I think. But now I've gotten.

- 2 Boxes 100% cleared. (Which is 1000 prize rolls)
- 4 Store CE's (+1 drop CE. Hurrah for the full set!)
- 1 Chicken Bucket

It also helps that somebody on my friends list already has Jack to lvl80 with the gold star CE. Time wise it's only taking me like a little over an hour to clear one of these boxes. Especially now that I have so many of the CE that gives double present drops.

My view is that not a lot of grind is necessary for this event. It is far easier compared to gudaguda where I had to rush to get 1.5m hp. From my view, Christmas event is mostly about luck, if you have good luck then the event wouldn't last for a weak for you. Even if you think that you don't have enough luck. With regular play you can atleast get 3 golden apples to use.

You didn't mess up. Fate messed up On the bright side. Marie is awesome. She may not be Jack but she is the best tank rider by far(3 hit invulnerability FTW) You also got an Ushi which I hate you for. Somehow I've spend like a million friend points and still don't even have one of her.

And about the Christmas event, the real awesome thing is the much greater amount of these drops per run. Like with the presents the reason I'm flying through it is that I get around 80 per run. So at my max stamina I'm getting around 240. Each box has 2 goldy apples so if you use both of those as you get them you get about 720 present drops. That's 360/500 right there. It's much easier for me to stay motivated in the grind when you see tangible rewards like that.

I have almost all the important stuff already and more goldy apples than I started with. Haven't used any of the silvers.

I am pretty shock to hear that you don't have ushi even though her drop rates are pretty high.
As of event, I get atleast 90-100 socks in one 40 ap. So within 12 hours I get around 300 socks. This event is really good because you can reset the lottery and get a lot of rewards mainly xp cards and mana prism if you are interested in Mona lisa or extra space for inventory.
As of the event item reward, it is best for getting all monuments, exp cards and ascention material cos you don't know when you will need them.

Really enjoying how insane Santa Alter is in this Christmas story, while still genuinely having the Christmas spirit..in her own way. Also her ignoring Gil was great especially with Gil's pervy delusion of what his gift was going to be.

Though on the negative side, I really wish we could trade tickets for Santa Alter copies sooner. Just so I could empty my inventory of all these embers. Not a lot of elbow room left in there. Pretty sure she's going to hit lvl 80 and still going to have a bunch left.

Indeed, if we'll get her after the event. I. E time for trading. It'll be a waste because we can't use her event bonus while grinding. The only one who I am interested in is arjuna. Hope they'll included sqs as reward like in gudaguda
in future so I don't have to worry a lot about sq usage.
P.s hoping new year will be na exclusive event and not like Thanksgiving (new year event in jp)

@Jammin, good luck my friend. I hope the Nasuverse makes you one of the best Christmas gifts ever. I decided to not pull for Moedred, since I already have Okita. I'm looking forward to the Chaldea Combat Mystic Code, it seems to be quite powerful. There are also new interludes and new CEs, but nothing worth of highlighting in my opinion.

Allow me to mount an impassioned defense of Moedred in FGO.

Now obviously I'm bias but I've read quite a bit about her and her abilities over the months I've been waiting for this. And various sites and people have rated her from B to A class much like Artria. There's a reason for that.

The downside is obvious because statistically she's Artrora with a little more attack and a little less HP. So statwise she's not blowing anybody out of the water. She has no evade. And she has an NP that hits everything which limits her damage against bosses.

The upside is that she's the only saber with a NP gauge increase skill. An NP that refunds the NP gauge like Artoria. And she has 3 hits on her arts card.

So she's essentially a fast farming servant. She can get her NP ready fast and keep spamming it. Especially in the right team. So while she can't do what Okita can in terms of taking down bosses or suvivablity but she actually has more utility in farming or grindy events. Where her rapid NP use can cut down on the time needed to clear waves.

I intend to clear the story line tomorrow so that I can have a shot at Lancer Alter. After that it's all going for Moedred. 195-ish rolls. After that I will either be happy or getting ready to rage quit this game.

I have completed London and was beginning my roll-a-thon when an unscheduled maintenance hit. Used about 40 tickets before the update slammed to door on me. Respectable results so far though but no jackpot.

The best stuff I've gotten from these tickets were..

4 Star Servant - Carmilla (Who I'm thrilled to get because of my urgent need of a better assassin)
5 Star CE(x2) - Imaginary Around (A 25% Quick card buff is going to go pretty well with Carmilla actually.)
4 Star CE - Holy Shroud of Magdalene (Anti-male defense buff. Seems situationally useful.)
3 Star Servant - Ushiwakamaru!!!!!! (FINALLY!)

Other stuff I've gotten that I'm a little lukewarm on.

4 Star CE(x3) - Necromancy (Meh.. can't imagine ever using it.)
Multiple copies of all the London 3 Stars Sevants. (Which are all dudes....)
Babbage all day long.(Apparently he's the new Fat Ceaser for me.)

As for me, the next thing will actually arrive tomorrow. Titoria Lancer Alter : D I've been planning to get her since the start, and now she's finally here. I mean I would roll for her anyway, but she's actually the best 4* Lancer in the whole game for a long time, surpassing even some 5* Lancers (though ofc like always it depends on your needs, but she's great for farming too), so I really wanna get her. I think I will try to roll for her tonight, I have 150 quartz ready and I hope she comes. Not rolling once for London really helped, and ofc all those nice extra quartz they gave us. I'm praying to the gacha god already
