In case you didn't know, Arakawa-sensei uses a lot of religious symbolism in her manga (one of the things that attracts me to it) and I just found something rather interesting.
These are the actual fated punishments of those who commit the seven deadly sins in hell (the names of the homunculus are the sins) and some of them are rather interesting and coincidental.
Pride - broken on the wheel
Envy - put in freezing water
Wrath - dismembered alive
Sloth - thrown in snake pits
Greed - put in cauldrons of boiling oil
Gluttony - forced to eat rats, toads, and snakes
Lust - smothered in fire and brimstone
The evidence is pretty convincing. (except for gluttony, who I feel doesn't count since he's going to be remade exactly the same) the Homunculus have all met their ends as represented by their punishments in hell. Pretty cool, no?
How do you think Arakawa will kill off the other homunculus? Who will kill them? Discuss away.
