yeah Erza is currently torturing the Dragon king who defeated entire Dragon race.... the only enemy and villain this series has is Fairytail Guild itself

Can't believe I used to list Acnologia as one of my favorite characters.

It's embarrassing, really...

But I made sure to quickly change that after Acnologia decided to start chasing the airship Christina. To this day, I still have no regrets about that.

2017 Popularity Poll

Fairy Tail has ended after 11 years and it's time to choose your favourite character in the whole of the series! Who stands out, hero or villain, to you? why did you choose them? I'm moving the popularity debate over here:

The visitors were some of Japanese fans and few foreigners. They don't make 0.1% from the whole fandom. Let's say the first character who got more requests was Happy not Natsu that doesn't mean Happy is the most popular.

You can't speak for the entire country because you live in it that's my point. I can't tell you if all my country are x fans because i simply don't know.

Facebook filled with casual fans and hardcore fans. Still has the largest community and far more crediable than small forums.

Natsu,lucy, laxus and irene are 4 of the 5 most voted character.

In both the polls my favourites natsu, lucy, mirajane and laxus are among the top voting getters whereas gray is behind very much in 1st one.

btw the results are confusing for mangahelpers, especially since Jellal and Ichiya beat Natsu in recent popularity rankings, so it's not consistent.
on reddit, people are surprised to see why Natsu is that high lol.

I live in Canada and I don't think there is enough data to figure out which character is more popular and having a slim margin of error in an accurate survey. Forum polls aren't accurate because there can be dupes and to have a 95% confidence usually means hundreds to thousands of people as a sample size.

Personally, I haven't seen many Gray cosplayers but Ultear, Erza, Lucy and Natsu and I have seen and mostly Erza flame pants. It's not a good representation because most venues have a shirts on policy so Gray would be difficult. I think everyone has a preference and not one is more blatantly more popular than others.

but wearing a cosplay of a character doesn't necessarily mean that it is your favourite character.

Yeah, Gray made mistakes in Alvarez Arc. But that pretty much goes for most of the other characters too. Most of them acted OOC, so I'm technically not really counting the last arc.

Regardless, Gray had the coolest personality, backstory, and battles throughout the series, so he's definitely on the list.
