Favorites Favorite Scenes?

HxH has a lot of good material in it. Post your favorite scenes in this thread and discuss why you appreciate them. I'll start out with something from the very first chapter.

I like this for a lot of reasons. Everything is so quiet in this scene and tense. Mito knows that her son his leaving. She's drinking alone by candlelight due to her grief. So much is said in a few words. What was Mito planning on saying to Gon after revealing what Ging did? Something like "But I've raised you ever since"? And moreover, the attitude around Gon's house is so bittersweet. There's this stark contrast between adult things and childhood. Gon cleaning up Mito's liquor is a good indicator of this--he's only eleven years old, but he's so responsible in this scene. And then we get Gon silently looking into Ging's photo with a sort of longing and curiosity while he remembers Kite's words.

It's worth mentioning that Kite specifically uses the phrase "Final Phase" when it comes to finding Ging--the same term used by the Hunter Exam. This is sort of an important thing that I've never really noticed before.

Looking at the pictures you have posted, I kinda find it regrettable that the current Gon doesn't look like this anymore. Especially in the second picture, for some reason I like his old design more then the current one.

From the top of my head the first thing that comes in my mind is this picture about Gon.

When Gon "lost it" against Pitou due to his suggestion of bringing Komugi along. In this very moment Gon lost his naiveté and his other personality trait, his absolute stubbornness boiled over to the point that his selfishness was made apparent, when he didn't value Komugi's life. That's what makes Gon dangerous as already mentioned by other people.

As for one of my favorite scenes is gonna be with Killua.

The reason why this scene was one of my favorites is because of what transpired up until this point. It showed how far he planned ahead to take care of a situation using his own mean. He used the skills that were instilled in him since birth for the sake of protecting his friends. Knowing Gon, Killua tries his best to hide the situation from him. It spoke thousands to me.. his coldhearted nature was used more as a tool than some innate feeling.

Difficult to say. The chimera ants arc has plenty of memorable scenes for me, and is probably my favorite scene in it's entirety if it makes any sense.

This is my favorite scene too. I also prefer Gon's first character design.

I particularly enjoyed this panel. I think Togashi works better with non humans designs rather than regular characters. And then the next chapter I really liked the panel of Gon being beat up. and then this page that I really liked made me wonder if Silva had a situation with a friend in which He had to kill him/her.

The last moment of the King and komugi really was touching.

I much prefer Gon's current character design to his old one.
I like his simple iconic look he has now.

another favorite scene of mine is when he's talking to Meleron and tells
him if Meleron betrays him then all he has to do is kill him and then Meleron
thinks "Gee Louise! There's ice in those eyes!" Gon is drawn simply
but yet he carries so much emotion in his drawings.

One of the best scenes would be from the Chimera Ant Arc, where Feitan reveals a previously unknown nen ability. Those panels were nicely drawn, too, reminiscent of old school shounen manga.

A minor scene, but I really liked the part when Gon and Gotoh play the coin toss game and Gon cuts his injured eye just so he can improve his vision. I can't remember if it was a filler or if it was actually in the manga though.

Also, not really a scene but I liked this particular panel in the manga:

[Impossibility]

Pariston's fortuitous win and immediate resignation, and the faces of the Zodiacs thereafter. After building up so much suspense about Pariston's intentions, and the importance of the election, his decision was probably one of the funniest scenes ever for me personally. And it placed Pariston among the upper echelon of manga trolls.

Also,Spin mentioned that she will show this to Gon once the whole chimera ant incident was over.In a way,it was signaling the end of the arc.
