i know Takaya-sensei wanted to end it this year but is it over? whats final chapter/vol? (i only read Tokyo pop's so trying to find out how long i have to wait tell i get to read the end T_T)

finally coming to an end. i liked the manga but what i didn't like was the addition of the student council people just to give yuki's life some color. no offense intened to yuki fans, but there could have been a better way.

I thought the council stuff was ok, but the characters seemed a bit flat compared to much of the rest of the cast... and to be honest, yet more kids with tragic backstories isn't exactly appealing (it's fine for Tohru and the Jyuunishi, and I can tolerate it with Tohru's friends, but more is just too much - does every character have to have a sad background?). >_>;

That being said, it was probably the best way to show Yuki's improvements after it became obvious that Kyou and Tohru were the main pairing; Yuki was still one of the most important characters, but without Tohru he needed some other people to be with so we could see him change. I also kind of like the Yuki x Machi pairing, although I don't like Machi all that much... it's still quite sweet. So it wasn't the idea of the school council that was bad, I just wish it was done a bit better. It might have helped if at least some of those characters had been around from near the start, rather than them all being randomly introduced half-way through... it made it seem a bit too artificial.

But anyway, enough complaining from me; Furuba is a wonderful series, and I'm kind of sad that it's coming to an end. ^_^; Actually, I was more sad when it first felt like things were coming to an end... much as I've always looked forward to the conclusion, it was so enjoyable that I wanted it to go on forever and never change (heh, I sound like Akito xD). But things have changed now, and there's no going back, so I'll be glad to see it completed.
