I second all the terrible animation comments... really wtf? Luffy looks like a 10 yr old girl?!? That was so bad I wanted to cry. I loved watching the anime.

He was presented dumber, he was drawn like a retard, he looks weaker, idk I thought maybe the animators are trying to do some sort of "revival" like create a new OP, to a new young audience like shows like the Simpsons have been going through. And we waited 2 freaken weeks for this? I'd rather watch Filler bark reruns and listen ot that stupid "Harurururururururruru". The anime died after W7/EL.


So dumb. I really hope it changes back.

Despite the different art style which I dislike (animation was still good for me) I totally loved this episode.
Especially at the end when Luffy fell and thought he was drowning. That was hilarious.

As for portraying Luffy in a different style; I assume it is only temporary until Impel Down comes along so that the audience will see the stark difference between the light-hearted events on Kuja and the darkness of Impel Down.
Or at least I hope so.

i know its an anime and the animation is not the best, but i happen to like it for some reason, i dont know why, the problam is that lately every episode equels 1 manga chapter, and it doesnt have that much content yet, im afraid of what will happen later when the really massive chapters arrive, 2 episodes per chapter? it will take forever to complete then next arc that way

hmmmmm the animation was kinda crappy....hope they step it up .......this arc is really fun..and then the Impel down arc will be the baddest......hope they improve on the animation......besides that ...the episode was fun

What are you people talking about the anime suck, or it died after Water 7 and Enies Lobby?! The anime is based on the manga it's the same thing, the stories, and the drawings. Shanbondy and Amazon Lilly is based on the manga as well and it's Oda who came up with it. If you don't like it that means you don't Oda's One Piece. The style of the anime might be slightly different but oh well who can tell? (unless you're a super geek who can spot every little detail.) It's all the same and it's still good.

Well that's the very point of it. it is NOT the same drawing. it'S some crappy south corean/phillipinian animation assistants doing that looks like they had some children drawing.

We're not complaining about the story, the story is great (even though they drag every episode out to the very limit and thus removing the pace and quality of the story). One Piece is my favorite manga of all time, but just like Akainu said, it's not the same drawing. The animation team is doing a worse job than ever before.

its ok with me............i love to see the animation. when luffy, sanji, zoro, and usopp walked to arlong park the music, their look, was great. everytime i watch i get goose bumps.

whether is the anime or the manga its all good with me, i just like one piece and if the drawings are off a bit it cool, just love the story.

If you don't like it that means you don't Oda's One Piece.

LOL. No, it simply means that we like Oda's artwork much more than the anime and believe it deserves nothing more but treated better. One Piece is the best sold manga of Shonen Jump (over 1 million tankobon every three months in the first week its published). You don't think it should be transferred more adequately into animation?

The style of the anime might be slightly different but oh well who can tell?

It's not the same scene but comparable views... In the manga, Hancock has a straight nose, in that episode she ... well. It's like a difference between Heidi Klum and Regina Halmich. Still - somehow - nice, but no longer "the most beautiful woman in the world of One Piece."

I kinda gotta agree here. The animation is crappy as hell and it takes about two seconds to notice that. Hancock is lots more beautiful in the manga but in the anime she almost looks plain. And I don't know whats with the last picture. She almost doesn't look human.

Ok, I gotta admit after watching it I can see what you people are talking about. It does look like children drew it I felt like Boa Hancock and knocking this episode down too. I mean wtf?! I waited two weeks and you think they at least put alot of effort into the art work. I wanted to see the Boa bath scene in a good drawing. Oh by the way the end scene where Luffy thought he was drowning was priceless. LOL!

The watermarks are not so much a problem but you hotlink the pics. Is that your own webspace? If so, it's okay. If not, please re-upload them to a freehost. I assume that you link them from your own website since the name matches.

Btw, it's not an offense but is it necessary to always fullquote such a long post even when it's right above you? Quoting one meaningful line or paragraph out of the whole post does the job just as well <.<;;

Hrmm, I do agree, the drawings are lacking in... detail, but I don't mind it so much stylistically, if it means the animators are free to draw things more smoothly. However, this episode wasn't exactly smooth. I'd like to simply hope that the studio is saving their effort for more important and action intensive episodes. Because someone wrote that the animation in OP had dropped since EL I took a look back at some recent eps and the scene where Luffy obliterates that Tenryuubito's face and the scenes where Kizaru regulates the Supernovas were very impressive with a good amount of weight and style behind them. All that being said, this episode wasn't exactly smooth.

I like that that one chick in blue waiting on Boa is voiced by Chopper's seiyuu! And I'm very happy that this episode didn't feel dragged out at all, there was barely any filler in it. Just goes to show you how much content Oda-sensei really does fit into a single chapter.

Well did anyone of you see Tekkonkinkreet or that short movie with the school kid in Animatrix or Samurai Champloo?
Animations are getting close to this kind. This is hopefully the future of anime.

Samurai Champloo is still at the top in terms of animation. One piece will never get close to that kind of work. No shounen with a weekly-based release can be at Samurai Champloo's animation level.
