It was very fitting how the flashback with Hanmock Mari and Sonia was made. Did you expect she looks like she does now or what?! Her face looked like a fish in the whole episode except from the flashback and a few seconds.

One Piece Episode 416

The first half of the episode was meh. It was mostly Luffy goofing around and eating. After the feast, Luffy talks to Marguerite. She thanks him for all that he has done for her. The Boa sisters had not attended the feast, instead dwelling on Luffy. Suddenly Hancock becomes sick and she is seen resting in bed.
Marguerite and Luffy head to Elder Nyon. She tells Luffy about Ace's execution. Luffy suddenly becomes emotional and forces her to tell the information. Elder Nyon discusses that Ace is held at Impel Down, the prison of the World Government. She explains that it is in the calm belt which is filled with sea monsters. It forms a triangle with the destroyed ruins of Enies Lobby and Marejois.
Luffy, regardless, decides to go to the prison to rescue Ace. (We are seen flashbacks about Ace when he gave Luffy his Biblicard). Luffy notices Ace's Biblicard is burning; his life is about to end. Luffy ponders on whether to reunite with his crew or to save Ace, eventually going to save Ace in the end. Nyon tells Luffy about the forces of the World Government, including the Admirals and the Shichibukai. Luffy still wants to go.
Elder Nyon tells Luffy that the only one with a ship is Boa Hancock, so they head to Boa's castle. One of the Amazon guards tells Luffy that the Hebihime, Hancock, is lovesick. This surprises Luffy and Nyon. Meanwhile, Marigold and Sandersonia are treating an ill Hancock in bed. Hancock tries to call out for Elder Nyon and Luffy while panting. The episode ends here.
Next episode starts the rescue at Impel Down. They show Hancock lovesick while Sengoku is becoming tense. Luffy heads to the prison via the Kuja pirate boat.

Animation Quality finally went up, hope they stick it with, since the last episodes were quite unbearable. The Pacing on the other hand was very slow, but with the Animation Quality and filler moments still enjoyable. Though it was only 14 Pages, they didn't even do a whole Chaper in one episode. They probably should have done a longer filler arc before Shabondy, instead of doing 1 Chapter / 1 Episode the whole time. Maybe it's just me, but there's no point to animate a good content if you're doing it in Slow Motion.

But how could they speed up the pace? When I saw Sabaody there wasn't anything wrong with the pace so far with about one chapter per episode. Sure there was filler content like that Zoro mini haki burst when he ran into some minor headhunters but the pace was about right.

the episode was decent....good animation ...if they keep this pace....the anime is gonna be behind the Manga a good 100 ish episodes......o well....as long as they keep the animation good........cannot wait for Impel down arc

Even thought the anime is still following 1 chapteer per episode I have to say congratulations to OP director this episode was very well made, the banquet part was hilarious.

Talking about Luffy, he is a really strange guy, he's hapiness is something contangious, that pass throught the screen to us.

Doesn't seem as if they're putting some of the cover story pages into those episodes, would they? If they did, Zoro and Perona's two pages already should have been in the manga since there's a break this week. I just wonder how they gonna stretch those minor entries in the manga (two or three pages per mugiwara) with fillers. Or is there some break in the anime broadcast as well?

Well technically they could have asked Oda what he has in mind, let him draw those coverstories ahead of time to have sth. to rely on and animate it. Since they fill whole episodes it will be fillerish anyway and they have to more or less ask for allowance on what they show.

And since both Zoro's and Brook's are not mentioned yet, they could be finished until shown in the anime in four weeks time... cool, huh?

My guess is that 421 will be Brook and Zoro (since they are the only ones without a cover page story yet). I wonder if they will add in a bunch of filler in these episodes since the chapter(s) that they have appeared in left a lot of unanswered details and the cover story pages hardly cover anything.

Aaa~h! Yes, that's pretty clear... And since I mixed up Karakuri (where Franky was sent to) with Kuraigana (were Zoro and Perona reside), and I've ... "enjoyed" that filler bloat on those Kuja festivities I'm clear to "enjoy" those episodes once they're coming up as well.

Hey this ep seem good and they added a couple scenes which was hilarious by the way. When Luffy got up and started singing I laugh hard. Where is brook when you needed him. lol! Plus Margrette looks hot when she turn around and thank Luffy I've never seen that side of her before maybe it's the clothes.
I also feel like having the flash back from last wk ep they kinda ruin the upcoming surpise about Hancock sudden sickness. When read the manga I fell off my chair laughing. Man, Hancock is just too funny.
