I personally disliked the episode, cuz it was disagreeably gay.

Though i read manga and i am kinda aware of what is going to happen... But you know, the whole sex change crap is just disguisting...

...back to the topic. i think that the last ep which is 438 is quiet ... bad compare to manga.
luffy in manga have show to have a great will to live (because hes cover in poison and all)

The scene with Iva was very Rocky Horror like. Now that I think about it I wonder why it didn't struck me when I read the chapter. Maybe Iva singing helped.

And the episode was not streched more than usual, it's still one episode for a chapter, only they start in the middle of the chapter

Catching up on the anime (on 434 right now) but I have to say it's refreshing to finally hear Kazuki Yao's voice again, even if not as Franky. I didn't realize till now how much I missed the other SH VAs.

Despite being 19.5 minutes (recaps included), this episode came and went very quickly. The episode is basically: Ivankov changing the intruder into a woman and guiding Mr. 2 to overlook Luffy's conditions. It only went up to the part where Ivankov tells Mr. 2 to "not take miracles so lightly," without mentioning his DF abilities. If anything, this episode has one interesting point. Near the end of the episode, when Luffy is remembering his childhood with Ace, he seems to be wearing a straw hat.

This episode wasn't draggy, that's how I felt.
Quite a good pace, the only part that I hate was the buggy and mr 3 part.
Wtf is with that comedy, it's not even funny.
And poor luffy, but it looks like next episode is going to have more pace

I felt they did dragged it out ,

that was a chapter sized episode, to a episode length that could hold at least two and half :\ (Ivankov scene was way to dragged out)

The anime has always done something like this , perhaps cause the manga is getting to close the anime?

I feel like at some point Toei decided they'd rather drag out the canon content than add filler. I think both are hit or miss. I'd definitely take G8 over stretching but I'd rather not have another evil seahorse arc. The end of the Thriller Bark got really tedious but I think they did a good job with the 2nd floor of ID.

Really though, I don't know why they don't just animate the coverstories again. Were the ratings for those really that much lower than filler?

Also, I started running this episode before deciding it was NSFW... bummer.

Than have a rather stretch out canon and filler all the time , canon episodes who go so much more smoothly than it is now..

well the animation itself still had some horrible moments. did you see the dancers moving? that looked so unnatural and cut, i.e. repeating the same thing over and over just to fill the time ...
other than that it was o.k.ish I guess

The coverstories animated would be really good. CP9 and Enel's would be epic

And of course, 1 or 2 episodes showing what the strawhats are doing. Like 5 minutes per strawhat (from the coverstories), 2 episodes. Besides I would love it

Not really, they added too much filler. The animation kinda sucked in some places, the dancers movements sucked

Iva dancing was also WAY off.

Nah, this one shouldn't end like that, but next one ends like that

Iva's hee-haw are not what I was expecting, but that's also because of the VA xD

The animation is really bad. Rewatch the Shabondy part and you'll see the difference with the last arc.

Whether or not its Ivankof (whole character) or his scandalous attire, dancing or face I don't know which but they just give me the crevps.

This episode just shows that, Ivankof is more frightening that the whole zombie intro during the Thriller bark arc. Even an army of zombies won't touch Ivankof. I can image Ivankof calling some candy zombie boys.
