Did you notice that Toei used the same sound for the final clash between Ace and Teach's powers and for Luffy's Haōshoku Haki ?

He was just talking about sound about clash , there was no scene of Luffy using Haoshoku Haki in this waste of a ....uh ..clip show

I hope we don't get more silly fillers after the war. I'd be happier with Enel, CP9 or Gedatsu adventures.

The anime could be taking its sweet time animating some of the other serials instead of taking the break, since they have done such a "good job" with the Straw Hat Separation serials.

They didn't animate the Hachi Coverstory, even when they were able to make an extra flashback episode out of it. It feels like they throw away some potential, because they could do a lot of great episodes.

Before the SH seperation cover stories there wasnt any cover stories that were animated since The Coby Cover Story ,

there are mutiple coverstories that had yet to animated, so the animation company has plenty of unused material to work from.

What a bs episode we had this week. There's a limit to how much the audience can withstand when it comes to all these delays and fillers... before they go insane . Just when I thought that Toei were improving the episodes from ID and reducing the amount of flashbacks, wtf did we get this week? XD! One of the poorest episodes this year imo.

God I hope they don't fuck up the war. It has the potential of becoming a most epic thing ever.

Before the SH seperation cover stories there wasnt any cover stories that were animated since The Coby Cover Story ,

there are mutiple coverstories that had yet to animated, so the animation company has plenty of unused material to work from.

I once saw a video where people from Toei animation were on a convention and fans asked them questions. A fan asked why they don't animate the coverstorys and the answer was that there is simple no demand for it.
To make it clearer. Most Anime only viewer think of the animated coverstories as extremly bad filler. So a filler with a Strawhat gets more viewers than an animated coverstory.
At least this is their view of things. But if you have introduced someone to the anime than you will probably have made the experience that most of them skiped the Buggy and Coby episode

Uh oh guys... It looks like even the episode on the 11th is a clip show. This one about the three admirals.

They'll probably show Luffy vs. Aokiji, the Ohara incident (both Akainu and Aokiji), and the Sabaody incident.

From the preview next episode won't be a clip show but it will be more focus on the marine side.
And we are lucky it is only one episode, in enies lobby it was 4 episodes of flashbacks so let's not complain to much

Yes, it seems to be a "filler" of what the World Government is doing prior to the start of the war.
Not that I don't mind; I'm actually interested to be reintroduced with the Admirals again.

It was fine for me, I need something like this once in a while,
and it's good to see ace being happy again in the past.
Clipshows are good if they are not done too much.

this week the war would have started already.

They had to do this for the kiddies who weren't even born yet when the Alabaster arc was on TV. They could have animated Ace's running round stealing food/ Looking-for-Blackbeard cover story though, would've been a great contrast with how much shit he was in when he finally found him.

I don't mind One Piece's version of 'stalling' either, I don't even know how they're going to fit all the stuff that happens in some of those chapters into one episode. The war is just mental.

Next one will probably be filler of the Admirals being eccentric + clipshow to remind us that Admirals = scary. Plenty of material for that, wasn't that Akainu in Robin's flashback too? Does anyone know what the upcoming episode titles are?

Well in the preview for this last episode there wasn't any evidence of this being a clipshow, and it was, so I think next one is a clipshow too!

Well... The last preview also showed half of the new material of the current episode.

Toei announced #457 as "Clip Show #1" so I'm not expecting that #458 to be more than "Clip Show #2". But I don't think Sakazuki's face will be revealed yet within the "regular" episode even if it's already been shown in the opening.

If Toei screw up with this war, i can see a lot of japanese invading Toei to slaughter some animator lol
Anyway, can't wait to see the next episode, even if it's about Marines and stuff...

I don't think so. One Piece is one of the most successful weekly anime serieses in Japan. Just check Oricon Anime TV rankings that are reposted on Anime News Network - One Piece is placed in the Top 4 of all TV anime shows for now more than three years now, I guess. Only Chibi Maruko-chan and Sazae-san receive better ratings, and paradoxically even Tate's episodes don't show any sign of a drop.

Seems like being an OP animator is like a safe job, and since OP anime is so much mainstream in Japan, I don't think Toei feels a need to make a change... X(

That sucks... Sometimes, i don't understand these japanese, why can't they provide real good episode (with good animation, music and stuff ) every week, won't that attract more fans to watch ? Cuz sometimes, they give us some crappy episodes, that just makes me want to stop watching OP (or any anime), if they could keep up real good episodes, then more people will watch.
I know that there's budget issues and stuff... but nevermind.
