The opening avoided spoilers but..they somehow give the impression that everything is gonna be alright, which is creepy considering how it won't.

Yeah I agree with creepy, possibly intentional with all the foreshadowing they've been doing. It reminded me of those 70's/80's space anime that had happy happy theme tunes with everyone posing and grinning, then in the episode thousands of people would get gassed or vapourised by shell-shocked 12-yr-olds or whatever..

Can't wait for the next one, (what's with the book thing in the preview?), plus that ship is awesome.

ok, so Roger said that Ace's mother is related to Garp. that's the thing that stood out the most in this episode. I can't help but wonder if that's actually the case.... it wasn't mentioned in the manga before.

Alright episode... I wished they would have showed Whitebeard on the Moby Dick but I guess not. The filler was alright but I hope the action speeds up as the arc progresses.

i don't understand .. why King of Pirate threat to World Government because power balance? I thought Roger don't interesting about Control World or Dominate over world ... I just thought that .. Roger want to travel adventure and protect his crew...
how Marine blame on Ace because Gold 's bloodline .. if Ace is join in Marine ... they will kill him if They will find out ? Since Grap want Luffy and Ace join in Marine...

Did u check out the power of ROGER? in this episode 560? garp was talking to him and kept the lamp down on the ground.. then after a lil talk with gold d roger for a few seconds the flame went out and then came back when gold d roger smiled...

I don't know where you heard that. That was not in the episode I've just watched.

So we were able to see how a coated ship looks like in the anime. It seems that it makes the ship shine because Moby Dick was not like that when we saw Shanks and Whitebeard's meeting.

it's just a world government propaganda,
that Roger is the most evil/sickest/dangerous bastard(a threat)
Roger start the pirate era,in op world people describe pirates(evil)
so for them Roger(akuma/devil)or(Roger bloodline is evil)
so those people in op world accept it,
and thinking that the wg is just doing their job to protect them

Roger found/saw/heard/knew something,
that the wg don't want other people to know

I think they got the pace wrong in the episode, they should have just demoted the whole episode to aces birth or combined it with the anouncement of aces father.

The end of the episode seemed to rushed and less epic.... Hopefully we see the whole of the whitebeard pirates in action next week, but i think its another boring episode with the flashback of how ace joined whitebeard. Bad times

My God...How awful. They killed it, they didn't even introduce Whitebeard at the end and next episode is not looking better . The colour choices for the new characters are disgusting. What happened to Marco and Joz's original costume colours?

The episode just felt dragged and really boring, considering this was suppose to excite us about Ace's birth and Whitebeard's appearance.

If the anime is going for the "one chapter per episode" format, they might as well have introduced Whitebeard at the end. Whitebeard and his crew were seen emerging from their coated ship at the end of the chapter that this episode used. It would have made for a better cliffhanger if we actually saw Whitebeard and his crew, not just their ship.

This episode may seem boring to some of you because of the chapter that they used. The anime decided to stretch things out by having Rouge spending months and months in solitude to hide her pregnancy.

This isn't the start of the war, this is just a precursor.
Hopefully by the time the next episode ends, we can actually get some sort of fight in.

Impel Down flashback was not needed. Garp x Roger flashback scene was cool, the flashback of Rouge was meh, quite saddening though..."not yet". Flashback of chibi Luffy with Garp going to Dadan (+ Ace) was alright I guess.

To me, it's more like half a chapter = one episode + flashback, add filler and stretch + flashback. It was great to see how a coated ship looks like in the anime though! (I was expecting it to look better tbh...). Mmm. They really should've ended THIS week's episode with WB's entrance/appearance. It's a damn shame. No epicness whatsoever now...

Last 6 mintues was worth watching. We waited two weeks for this!? Not good at all. Nevertheless, I'll be looking forward to the next episode.

Actually, there's no need to be "pissed off". IMHO, that was probably the very best actionless episodes we've seen for months. The drawings were fine, the animation appropriate to the rather calm situation - right back in Enies Lobby. The only two flaws I've seen were the reuse of the Admiral camera flyby (from Kaze wo sagashite, and last episode) and the rise of the submerged Moby Dick. The latter one looked a bit f'cked up in HD, when the ship flew out of the water.

@loloy: It's not just simple propaganda that evilness is given through the bloodline. In history many so called "primitive" cultures felt the "need" of wiping out whole families in and after wars. And crimes of the one were passed down to the whole family and ancestors. From our point of view it's just residual thinking ... and retarded, but it's common thinking of those times.

Who said anything about cutting them out!? Those flashbacks should've been covered in the previous episode imo. The flow and organisation of these episodes are a bit messed up for my liking.

That seems to be KalelDaNinja11. \o/ I'm just a bit upset with how Toei is handling certain scenes. :P

The last best actionless episode imho was at the end of the TB arc where Brook & co were celebrating on TB but that was a long time ago now lol. Reusing a particular camera angle isn't a flaw imo. It just depends on how the animators use it to the best of their abilities; but they screwed around with it in ep 460.

The entrance of the Moby Dick should've been EPIC but Toei totally messed that up for all of us.
