Wtf is going on with the anime now!? Pacing fail. Akainu is Kenpachi!? (Same VA, I know but wtf) I don't like it one bit. WB's laugh is worse than Gecko's...in the anime.

I thought the Impel Down Arc was a disgrace lol I take that back now. xD

Hmm I like both Moria & WB's laugh, I mean they are better than I imagined those sound effects audibly.

The first part of the episode was boring, but the end was great.

Mihawk is pretty cool, even the men-hater Hancock recognized it.

THE BAD

1. WOW JUST WOW.....I just gotta agree with everyone is this thread the pacing horrible.........5 mins to see the tsunami? While everyone just stares at each other.........like hi let's wait till until the tsunami comes and then start the war.

2. I felt like I was watching DBZ......a 5 to 8 min recap of stuff shown the episode before? OH come on man.....

3. The pacing just feels off.....I feel like if another group of animators suddenly started to animate one piece.....SA when the SHs got separated was excellent, ID was fine to me, in both pacing and animation.....I don't mind the talking when Mihawk draws his sword.....but they made it kind of lame.....like they tried to hard to over emphasize how strong he is by letting everyone comment on it, which killed it for me.....and the endings for the last 3 episodes really complete the awful pacing.........the 1st episode should have ending with WB coming out and standing on top Mody Dick......this episode could have ended with Joze blocking Mihawks shot, or Marco blocking the lazer shot and the admiral saying how the WB pirates are scary and then zoom in on WB at the end.

Meh I wonder how much episodes they will take up when Ace dies.

The little skirmish between WB and Akoji......which was like 1 min

Not sure she was talking about Mihawk, seeing as she was thinking "There are rowdy men everywhere and I can't stand it. He is also a man, but he's an exception." *dramatic look* "I'm praying for you, Luffy!"

I think she was merely disgusted by the other men present and drew a contrast between them and the only man whom she actually likes: Luffy.

Not much to say about this episode. Pretty much everything's been said. To mention something positive, I do think they managed to pull off a decent cliffhanger this time. Naturally, it would've been better had they just ended the episodes in the same way Oda did (his cliffhangers were ten times more suspense), but unlike last week and the one before that, this one did at least leave you wanting to see what happens the moment afterwards (which is really the reason you have cliffhangers in the first place).

Bad recap, bad fillers, bad pacing and thus, since the pace is dragged down, very little is seen of the actually decent animation.

I stick to my opinion that Oda could have handled the war a lot better in the manga as well, but compared to how they're slaughtering this arc in the anime, the manga version of it is really starting to appear as awesomely epic as everyone initially shouted week after week.

HOWEVER... I'm beginning to like Whitebeards laugh. It still sounds hilariously bad, but at least it's hilarious amidst all the stuff that's nothing but bad. Brings for a good chuckle between the facepalms.

And sorry if I'm sounding overly negative. But don't worry; if they keep handling it like this, I'll probably drop the anime anyway.

At the end of the episode she talked about Mihawk, just like Akainu, Kizaru and Vista did.

I liked that part, but I agree that the end should have been Marco stopping Kizaru's attack. I also found the buggy filler part very stupid.

Well, we could complain until the world collapses on itself about the screwed up pacing. Honestly though, the anime is getting pretty dangerously close to the manga, so I can't blame them as much. Quite frankly, I would actually prefer them to speed up the pace for the Marineford arc at least. I wouldn't mind using filler to pad things out afterwards even, since this arc is just that awesome. And, I actually want to see some of the psuedo-Japan alternate universe filler XD I quite like those for some reason.

But it depends on people's opinion on filler I guess. I mean, if you really hate it, the show can't do much else but screw with pacing to try and pad out the time so they don't overtake the manga.

There is plenty of time to do a filler afterwards, they should take a page from the book of the guys that are animating fairy tail......the pacing of the episodes are GREAT, the endings leaves you wanting more (in a good way), they don't drag on the scenes.......I can't for the life of me figure out how the same company can do such a goo job of the SA arc, and ID arc and start one of the most epic arcs so crappy.

I hope it gets better.

Marco is amazing, style. That blue flames is really cool.
I've also liked Akainu's magma and Oars introduction.

Pretty cool episode. Kizaru is so awesome ! His demeanor is amazing, always so calm and sarcastic. "OOOOOH That Hurt" lol
Yup, Marco is looking sweet. Now I like his hair color, etc. even more because it really contrasts with the blue flame and you get a nice mix of colors in your face
Akinau is really cool too. I loved the sound of the magma when he is about to punch the ice ball.

Other than that, I agree with Pirulitokun. There's just something about these episodes that doesn't excite me like the older eps. did. Maybe it's the pacing, maybe it's something else, but something is ogg.

Awesome episode, this is what an one piece episode should be.
Pacing is perfect IMO and it really got me excited.

Next episode looks like it'll be back to normal pacing , seeing as it is one whole episode to Oars Jr.
I really hope Toei get their pacing right this time round..

The whole episode was awesome. One of my favorites one in a while.

My favorite part was Marco turning up the flames.

Hawkeyes attack being stopped by Jozu was interesting. I thought of the match with Zorro and Das and how Das asked him, if he was going to cut Diamond next (but who hasn't at this point). Oars Jr's entry was a tad slow but that couldn't be helped I suppse...and cutting the Marine ship was nice.

Akainu spoke for himself, no need for comment on him.

Much better episode compared to last week's one. I'm loving Marco's voice more and more. Jozu was a badass too. I still don't like Akainu's VA; wrong decision imo. I really liked Oars' entrance and I can't wait to see how he fairs against the marines in the next episode.

As much as I liked this episode, I agree with the people above me in regards to the "excitement" factor. There are so many highly anticipated and "epic" entrances and moments that have yet to be shown but considering the one's we've seen thus far.. they've been a huuuuge disappointment. No fun at all. Even the music during the fighting has changed a lot compared to previous anime arcs. Something really is odd imho about these recent animations.

*Still bewildered by the pathetic entrance of the Moby Dick. No joke. *

Other than that, it was a nice episode. The whole Marineford arc was too confusing at times for me, so it's nice to see it animated at last.

I have to agree that the episodes are not as good as I thought they would. It's fun to watch but nothing more. I don't feel any epic moment in this episode. Maybe it's how they flit from one scene of fight to another.

So I don't look forward to the next episode like I used to, and I think I will never see this episode again.

I think that the lack of epicness comes from the music, they really didn't choose the good music for Marco's intro for example, or Jozu's intro... But besides that, it was a good episode, but nothing really outstanding, let's just hope that in the next time episode, they won't screw up with the Shichibukai intro

It's not just the music, it's as Lord Rayleigh said, it's because they just move from one scene to another like it nothing and I can't remember ONE epic moment they've captured well. They failed at so many stuff, when we all know that the war arc is supposed to be one epic moment after another. What we're seeing is mediocre at best
