I think the stingy nature of Genshin is due to how limited the summoning pool is.
If you think about it the amount of things you can pull is abysmally small, if Genshin was as generous as other gachas with their premium currency then many people would not have enough incentive to spend money in the game.

Besides that there's also the quality of each character you get too.
I would say that, besides Qiqi constellations (they are truly bad), there's not a single 5* character that you may regret obtaining, that includes most weapons too.
The same could be said about 80% of the 4* summoning pool. Theres also a pity system, and it carries over to future banners which guarantees you to get the thing you want if you plan enough.

Most gachas just sell an animated jpeg with stats attached to them or straight up never guarantee you will get what you want, no matter how prepared you are, which makes them a true "casino made game" that I generally dislike. I dont play Honkai but I guess its a much older game, which means their summoning pool and playerbase is a way way older, and it directly effects the reward system.

I feel like Jammin in the sense Im glad this gacha in particular has so little improvement from daily farming, cause that means there's no fear of missing out anything. You can quit and come back when you want to.

Well honkai have a bigger pool, sure it's the same character just them at different points of the story so different upgrades or battlesuit whatever you wanna call it but that makes it so they have a bigger gacha pool
Like i think there 7 different kianas in the game

Plus honestly i feel like honkai more like their love child than genshin, at least they more passionated about that game, it can be seen in the cinematic and how good they are for example
Genshin more like they wallet child, the one that get them money
But that how i feel

Maybe if they adapt the same formula later in the story we get a new version of traveller or other characters when they get more power with the plot moving on
That if they even get new power ups and are able in lore.
I'm not counting the fact the traveller can have different elemental but as in a gacha traveller with different clothes and improved powers of that element maybe

I regret Deluc...:SOON

But in general yeah I mostly agree. I don't mean to complain about the way Genshin is. Just kind of noting how it is different that other such games. It's a very low key game in terms of time commitment. And for me that's in it's favor.

It should also be mentioned that besides the battle pass the open world exploration rewards tend to be pretty good. In other area's they are a bit too stingy. Like the anniversary rewards from last year were less than a joke. The events also I think need a bit of work. I guess they're confident people won't leave since it's the only game like it around in terms of production value. Still though.:notrust

I think it goes without saying that Delusions will result in different versions of existing characters. Tartaglia already has one, Diluc used to have one. It's just a matter of time IMO.

I think the devs or even leaks have mentioned that the future versions of the Traveller will have more work put into them IIRC. Not sure if it'll happen with Dendro or not though.

how am I supposed to build characters

I've focused so much on Thoma that now Im like, how can I ever play as Xiao, or upcoming Heizou and Kazuha if I've only got like dozens of Tenacity of the Millieth, and Shinkawa's Reminiscence artifacts

Grind for a couple months. That's the only answer.

Takes me about a month and half to get a character built out. Couple weeks for ascension stuff/and possibly weapon stuff. Then unless I get extremely lucky around a month just farming the artifacts I want.

What AR are you? Usually spending your resin to farm artifacts isn't really recommended until AR35-40 when you can get your world level high enough so that 5star artifacts start dropping. Until then it's just best to go with pieces that have the best stats for the character you're using and ignore the set bonuses.

If you're getting a lot of characters all at once it can be difficult to have the resources to level and outfit them all if you aren't whaling and doing daily resin refreshes. So like with anything it just takes time to build a good inventory.

Do you have a team that can clear level 90 domains for artifacts? Some of them can be way more difficult than others so it's kind of tricky.

But yeah, just playing the game like Jammin said. Even if you can't empty your resin every day, make Condensed Resin at the alchemy table so you can empty it out and let it refill for the next day. That way you don't "waste" resin and can farm every other day or so instead of having to worry about it daily.

Other than that it's really just about getting more general placeholder artifact sets like Gladiator for your characters that scale with Atk%, upgrading the good pieces when you can with the Mora you have and transitioning to the more specialized sets that suit your characters the best with their set bonuses. Right now the best Domain to farm for Artifacts for you would probably be the one in Inazuma that drops Emblem of the Severed Fates and Shimenawa's Reminiscence. Emblem is viable on pretty much any character that prioritizes Energy Recharge (most Supports and Off-Field Damage Dealers), and Shimenawa's is good on all Atk-scaling units. Once your characters are stronger and you level up more you can then use your resin on farming more specialized artifacts, like Crimson Witch for Pyro DPS or Viridescent Venerer for Anemo units for example.

But even more so than maybe Artifacts, the things that have the biggest impact on your character's strength is usually leveling your Talents and their Weapon. Those also don't have the RNG element that artifact farming has so you'll have the most return with that.

I can only clear the Domain for Emblem of Severed Fate and the Domain for the Tenacity of the Millelith, everything else is a struggle/impossible.

Couple artifact tips for you.

#1 Emblem Set domain is one of the "best" sets to farm early because, as xi0 mentioned, those are fairly universal artifacts. Generally speaking most characters can use either attack or ER so you can't lose farming that.

#2 Don't be afraid to level lower teir artifacts to make your farming easier if your struggling. The reason it's ok to do this is because you can later feed those into a higher teir artifact and you'll retain most of that EXP. That's one area which is Genshin is pretty nice. It's not like some games where you lose a bunch of EXP by doing that.

#3 IMPORTANT!! Do not use unleveled 5 Star artifacts as EXP. Why? Because, using crafting, you can turn 3 garbage 5 Star artifacts into one of a few specific sets. Which will allow you to get artifacts from the Noblesse, Gladiator, Bloodstained Chivalry, or Wanderers as a pity prize. However if you level an artifact that rolls out poorly enough that you don't want it, DO use that to level another, because as I mentioned on the previous point, that EXP carries over into the next try.

#4 Viridescent Set/Maidens Beloved domain is actually pretty easy to farm as well. Not the best choice early since Maidens Beloved is trash but the FTP "trick" to doing it quite easily is Anemo Travelers Burst. That tornado allows you to gather up all the enemies in one place. So once you get enough firepower to take down those few stronger enemies you may find getting Xiao his Viridescent Set pieces isn't so bad.

#5 Be aware that flat HP, Defense, and Attack are garbage sub stats. So when you pick an artifact to level try to get as few of those as possible. Early on in the leveling process main stat may be all you care about but if your anything like me those substats will one day hurt your eyes to look at. Everything else can be used by somebody. Those stats can't really be used by anybody that i know of.

#6 You may know this already but.. regardless of set. Keep elemental and physical damage goblets, as well as crit rate or damage circlets, with even half decent sub stats. The reason for this is because only 4 pieces of the set matters and those are the hardest pieces to get. So, even if it's a DPS maidens beloved piece, that might be very valuable to you one day.

wait seriously? i thought 5 star were the best to use as EXP, i just feed them.

There is some caveats to this though, like some Flat stats (depends on what your abilities scale with) are going to be better than something like Elemental Mastery on a unit that doesn't actually trigger the reaction and some units get a lot less out of Energy Recharge than others. But yeah, in general % is always better.

They are, but if you have a use for any of those 4 sets you can craft, then spending them there isn't bad. Plus there's always a chance you can get a good goblet or a crit headpiece, etc. But as you invest more and more resin into artifact domains and farm bosses and get Gladiator pieces passively, the crafting becomes a bit less enticing.

Fortunately nowadays sets like Gladiator or Noblesse are a bit less prized than they were. Emblem has sort of taken Noblesse's place as the most universal set for most units, plus the catch with Noblesse is that you only want the 4pc on one unit in your team since the buff doesn't stack. And now that everyone is getting Shimenawa pieces from farming Emblem, Gladiator is a bit less in demand.

I know you brought up farming Tenacity of the Millelith before, which I assume you're doing for Thoma? Just a reminder that if you don't use Noblesse 4pc on him, then 2pc Tenacity and 2pc Emblem is the best option for him, so coincidentally the two domains you mentioned being able to complete at level 90 are the most ideal for him. But once you get some ideal Tenacity pieces I'd probably only focus on Emblem, as Tenacity/Pale Flame are pretty niche sets and less universal. 4pc Tenacity is really only usable on someone like Zhongli, Kokomi, or Qiqi due to how much uptime their Elemental Skills have.

This is true but the gain you get from those flat stats is so negligible I would argue that your better off getting the EM. Because, while that may not be useful the character your building it for, there are characters that can scale damage off of that in a more substantive way. So you might be able to make use of that piece in the future.

Flat stats versions of Def, Attack, and HP are just always going to be a lesser version of their percent versions. You don't want multiple rolls to hit those pretty much no matter what.

Due to being focus on Elden ring, I didn't realize there was an event currently going on. Barely finished the prerequisites quest, so no way to even start it in time. Kind of sad I'll lose out on the rewards, but doesnt seem like I'm losing anything I really needed. In better news, manage to get Yelan. She seems alright, still getting use to her style.

The free bow is pretty nice for Yelan if you don't have Favonius.

Yeah the annoying thing about it stages of it being locked behind the story quest...

Right now my Bennett has 2 Noblesse Obliges and 2 Shimenawa's Reminiscene, I dont know how to proceed next in farming, Reminiscence only gives a 2pc of ATK +18% ;/
