As you'd imagine I've done a bit of studying on her kit while building artifacts. I suspect she can be used like Fischl but that's not going to be what she's best at.

Her elemental skill is the Fischl part. If you're building into that you can go extra EM with her passive and build that up. But the base multiplier on it isn't great. Pretty similar to Oz just on a skill with 100% uptime. And her passive is 1 point of EM to 0.15% of skill damage. So if you've got her skill 10 she's going to do like 170% to begin with. Say you put 200 EM on her you're getting 30% damage back, plus whatever reactions are going on, for the stat investment.

How I intend to build her is around the other half of her kit. Her burst. Since the multiplier on that is pretty huge and since Ei's buff is based on the amount of energy used she gets the most burst damage currently possible out of that. It's not going to be Eula damage but at lvl 10 it's 450% on the initial hit and 600%x3 from the towers.

My expectation is that she's just going to go well with Ei. Also, as a rule, I never set aside the waifu factor.
She's definitely less one-dimensional than Fischl since she actually has some AoE potential despite her totems being single-target (for some reason?), but she's still an Electro Sub DPS with off-field damage, good particle generation, and some bonus mobility. So I would still predict she's going to fill the role that Fischl does, albeit offering more.

I don't think an EM build will work very well personally. The main issue there being that it's kind of anti-synergistic with running her alongside other Electro units, which is something most Electro units kind of need, especially those with 90 energy burst costs. If you're building EM on a unit it's very easy to have that be rendered a completely useless stat if said unit isn't the one triggering an elemental reaction. This is especially an issue with how something like Electro-charged works, as well as someone like Beidou or Raiden doing a shitload of AoE damage. Of course that's just one facet of an EM build with her since her Skill actually has an EM scaling, but not sure the math will bear out and make that a useful thing to stack. Unless you want to use her as a mono-electro in a National Team type setup. I might be completely wrong but on paper that just doesn't seem ideal, unless you have no other electro units. So it might be just one of those useful bonus things that you get some added damage to her Skill accidentally, but not something worth intentionally going for if you plan to use her with Raiden, Sara, Beidou, etc.

I just wish he was a little more fun to use. It seems like all that's lacking are little quality of life changes. They don't even need to change the damage and he'd be fun to play. But sometimes it seems like they designed him to be clunky.
Yeah, I think the main issue is the Traveler being labeled 5 star. None of his variants really feel like one at all. I'm still pretty interested in what the Dendro Traveler will be like though, especially since we still don't even know how Dendro will work outside of Burn.

I'm looking forward to trying her out and finding out how she plays. It's the character more than the kit I'll be using my pity on but she looks like she'll be a pretty good piece for my first choice team.

Which is currently Kequing, Eula, Ei, and Jean.

I think you can guess who she'll be replacing. Although I'm going to miss that teleport. It's hard not to have that when you're used to it.

Yeah, I feel the same way whenever I don't have Kazuha in my team, way too convenient for exploration

Intital impression. Yae's energy situation isn't that bad. She's not self sufficent for sure and I'm running with Raiden so that probably affects my perspective on it but I'm only running her at 146% ER and I'm not having any problems having that burst up when I want it.

Damage is solid too. Seems like taser teams are the where she shines most but she's got good general damage. Also here's a fun thing. Her totems hits trigger Raiden's slashes. And the recharge on those things is crazy fast. They are just always available.

Biggest shortcoming I've run into so far is that her teleport when she puts down a totem feels like it isn't far enough to me. As a result it's hard to use that to evade attacks and get the ideal totem placement.

Interesting that they didn't tease Ayato at all on Twitter. They've been teasing the following patch's new units right before a new patch drops since 2.1 iirc

I know I was just bitching about Traveler recently but... you know who I think goes surprisingly well with Yae Miko? Traveler. Specifically, Geo traveler.

Mainly because you can lock down an area with the constructs and all of skills are indirect so there is no targeting issues. The crit buff doesn't hurt for her burst either. Though the lack of snapshotting prevents it from doing a whole lot for her skill. It's probably not the most damage maxed team but gameplay wise I'm really enjoying it.

They did it so early I forgot...

Me deciding to skip Yae probably because of Ayato... but now Yelan is coming in the same patch...

She looks pretty cool. Though I'm going to want to know what she does. I have yet to play a bow user I actually want to use so anything holding a bow is tough sell for me.

Would love a decent Hydro character with all this electro though...

I thought maybe she will be like a Hydro Sara or Gorou, but if she's a 5star that might not be the case.

I think since no abilities have leaked yet that she might just be an NPC for now, but don't quote me on that

There is no way she's an NPC. Look at that design. And she's wielding a cool weapon. Feel like in Genshin those are two things that don't happen for NPCs.

Well.. was trying to get a constellation for Yae. Got spooked by Qiqi instead. Yay? Not sure how to feel about this.

Don't know a whole lot about her aside from the obvious. On the one hand she can use that Favonus Sword I built so there is that but I now have every non-limited except Mona. I'd rather have her than a Deluc constellation (or Deluc period) and she resets the pity early which I guess means I start saving for the dendro archon early. Should I be happy about this?

I meant a character that is an NPC first before they actually have a banner. Like Baizhu, Scaramouche, or Dainsleif. Those are extreme examples though, but at minimum we might wait a patch before she gets hers and she's added early for story reasons (ex- Thoma). It's just odd that there seems to be no info at all about her abilities. We got 2 new 5 stars in patches like 2.0 and 2.1, but since then they've kind of stretched it out. So I probably wouldn't expect 2 in one patch until 3.0

The Ocean Hued Clam set helped Qiqi out a lot. She can also use Tenacity of the Millelith pretty effectively when her teammates are melee characters so that Atk buff can have as much uptime as possible. The choice there comes down to buffing her damage (OHC) or her teammates' (TotM) essentially.

She can use Favonius, but she works best with Sacrificial Sword due to how long her Skill cooldown is. It's preferred over 5 stars even. Qiqi fell out of favor pretty early for a couple reasons. Mainly, she has an 80 energy burst cost and has pitiful particle generation. Just not something you want from a support. She has insane healing even without using healing bonus artifacts, but that's kind of all she does. Diona being released kind of sent her to the dumpster. Ocean Hued Clam does provide a lot of damage for healers though. The main issue is she's a healer that kind of requires a battery herself in a sense.

That's about what I figured. Oh well, something else to build for the next few months or so. I'll get her a decent clam set and the sac sword (eventually).

Besides it will be very satisfying to kill those water birds with Yae. She is going to annihilate that annoying boss.

Manage to get Yae, but getting her ascension material has been a pain due to the way the Vishaps fight is set up. Anyway, I like her skill, though the backjump can sometime be a disadvantage. Haven't figured out what weapon/artifacts to give her yet.

Qiqi is quite nice. I enjoy her ability to heal while off the field/ granting Cyro damage for elemental reactions. Among my healers, I think she's the second best.

You mean the energy drain? That was indeed a bitch. I just picked a character to get drained and let them take the hit each time.

My Yae is using the Widsth. If you have it, it's great on her. The more refinements the better. Mine's R3 and Yae hits REALLY hard with it. Doesn't even matter which buff she gets.

What kind of teams do you use her on, out of curiosity, and with what weapon?

I mainly use Jean these days as my main healer and my backup team uses a battery build Diona. So I'm sort of trying to figure out where she's going to fit into my teams.

I've been using El, Noelle, Yoimiya, and Xinyan - pretty much rely on Noelle to break the walls and heal the others back up while Yoimiya gets the overloads them and Xinyan is saved for last.

Currently Yae is using my second Solar Pearl, but I was thinking of the Widsth. That or the new catalyst we get from the current event.

I normally team her up with either Fischl, Keqing, or currently El, so I can make use of the electro/cyro reaction. Also pretty nice with Barbara and Xingqiu, cause all I have to do is get near the enemy to freeze them in place.

Her weapon is the Flute, I think it was the second strongest sword I had when I got her, but it's been perfectly good on her. And her artifacts are 2 Blizzard Strayers/3 Maiden Beloved.

I'd definitely go Widsith there. She doesn't need that much ER really. Especially since you have Ei who between the electro resonance and her burst eases the burden quite a lot. I currently run mine with 146% and it's plenty. I suspect what your going to want more than anything is as much damage as possible over that ER.

I forget what my crit stats are but she can do quite a lot of damage at C0. With the skill dishing out 8kish per second easily and consistently and the burst adding a fairly massive chunk on top of that. Your going to want those crit stats.

About the boss. I can kind of see what they would be a pain. Whoever is breaking that pillar gets energy drained almost every time. If there is a way to dodge the shots that come at you while you're doing that I never found it. Healer getting drained can be a bit problematic. Just got to account for that I guess.

The only other tip i can think of to share is to not kill one of them too quickly. Because most of the damage comes after that. So if you kill one when the other is almost dead as well. The remaining one starts that next stage with no health and you can one tap them with a burst as soon as it starts and avoid all of that nonsense.

When I did it all those times I'd use Keqing, Eula, Ei, and Jean. I had wanted Keqing to get drained but Eula got drained most of the time anyway.

This is why I recommend Zhongli for any account, he's just too useful. Get 30k+ HP on him and he can negate every mechanic in the game not named Corrosion. Even extreme difficulty with a healer was done the first try.

Comes down to taste I guess, but I think as a baseline most 5stars are fun in general yeah.

No waifu factor, but the fantasy of being the Geo Archon and turning everyone to stone if you don't oneshot them every 10 seconds is pretty enjoyable. His shield is also the most powerful Elemental Skill in the game and also adds so much damage for anyone you use.

But even if you do find him boring, you not having to waste food or hours trying to do difficult content because of how useful he is is also pretty "fun". :catshrug

There are quite a few 5 stars I don't care for using for various reasons. I don't care for Deluc obviously. But I also don't care for Ganyu, Yomya, Albedo, or Klee. Just gameplay wise. Maybe if I had them I would talk myself into it. But I really have no desire for any of those.

But more specifically about Zongli to me part of the fun in any game is figuring out my own way of doing things. What I like. What I don't. How I want to approach whatever challenges a game has for me right? The problem I've always had with Zongli is that he simplifies those challenges currently in the game. Like I enjoy the process of figure out what bosses do and how to beat them with what I've got. The combat in genshin is pretty simple to begin with so I have no desire to simplify it even further.

It's why in the future we'll see more corruption and shield penetration mechanics, I think. Because I doubt Mihoyo wants players to have an "easy button" that bypasses boss mechanics. I'd lay pretty good odds that dendro is going bring some kind of poison mechanic that goes right through shields with it. It just makes sense.
