Not gonna lie. The tone this chapter had makes me a little nervous. I'm assuming that scene at the beginning was a dream and not a flashback/memory type deal but the tone is worrisome. Don't you do it Sorachi... don't do it.

It was cleary a dream in my opinion.
I'm sure the Shinsengumi (and even more people) will join the fight to free him.
I wonder... does that still count as the "Kill the shogun" arc?

Looks like its nearing to an end. I can't imagine this series back to how it was when they eventually come back from where they're heading.

I was kinda thinking the same thing, but it could continue for a while after that.
That new Shogun is not nearly as powerful to be the last villain, so I think this is just a very long arc.
Once he will be defeated, they will go back to the stupid stuff for a while.
That will certainly piss off the bad guys, and they will want to retaliate.
We haven't even see the boss of the Naraku yet, and we know that there are some powerful people behind him, so it's not nearly over, IMO.
