Welp... way to ruin it just for a joke...

It IS the ending of the manga, so it would have been nice to have some people getting together and being happy.
I was really happy to see Otae and Kondo together, but in the end, that was just a tease and that great ending for those two characters was ruined for another gorilla joke.

Not worth it. I wanted them together Sorachi!!

The more I read this "final fantasy" arc the weirder it gets. We've already got Zurump, a happy family of Gorilla's, mini-Tama, Kagura giving birth in the same way Piccolo does, Robocop Yamazaki, and I am excited to see whatever comes next!

sad to see this thread barely alive. i remembered i had an account here...

If Gintoki's friends find out what he is planning, will they stand by him, stand aside, or stand in his way? and if they stand in his way, is he willing to take them down and potentially sell out the planet just for a chance to bring back his master? if he succeeds and utsuro comes back instead of shoyo, will they forgive him?

Reading this arc almost makes me feel like Gintoki was the final big boss all along.

edit: seeing spoilers confirmed by kewl, standing with is chosen it seems.

How this will end will be very interesting.

I haven't caught up on this series in the past year. Bleach, Naruto and now Gintama too. They couldn't get in an even 700 though...?.

well it will switch to jump giga (quarterly issues) for proper ending :

Surpassing endings.

-There will be another Gintama Matsuri in 2019.
-Color page is everyone walking forward with Gin, Shin, and Kagura looking back at the audience.
-There will be one more character poll done to commemorate the ending.

For the chapter itself :

Everyone in Edo shows up at the snack, and Tama hands Shinpachi something that will be "essential to making his (Gintoki's) dream come true.
Otose also gives them something and reminds the duo that she's still owed rent.
The sect members surround the snack but Pirako and Jirocho take care of them, as does Hedoro and a few others.
Turns out what Otose gave Shin and Kagura are their old clothes, so now they're dressed the way they were pre time skip.
Nobume, the Ninjas and a few others help Shin and Kagura get through town past the sect members.
Even Umibozu and Kamui show up to take down a few ships.
Otsuu is there and hands Shinpachi his imperial squadron headband and starts a song.
Scene switches to the Joi boys and they're slowly getting overwhelmed.
Gin gets pissed at the song and complains that it's not that sorta manga, lol.
Zura complains about there not being enough pages for a final chapter, and it turns out the song was one related to Prince of Tennis (He even does a cosplay.)

Final page is Gintoki "OUR BATTLE WILL CONTINUE IN JUMP GIGA!!"

Sorachi have a hard time ending gintama or he can’t do it , he can’t say goodbye to Yorozuya and Edo just like us ! I have my doubts that gintama will never end because gintama’s plot is unstoppable!

Hi wa mata noburu released chapter 701 a couple of days ago and... It's.not.the.end!!! The story is going to continue and "end" in a special "Gintama app". You'll found more information about it in the final pages of the chapter, right before the popularity poll.
