Gray from Alvarez arc destroy Mira every day.
Gray from 100Y need more feats, but for now Mira should win.

It actually does mean that she would resist it as Skullion would. If DeS is supper effective on demons, Skullion is not a demon, Mira is one in her Takeover, BSS Mira = Skullion and Gray and Cana think it wouldn't work on her as it didn't work on him then so far the manga hints that DeS isn't as effective on her as people on here think.

A non demon on her BSS level would resist it as well as her? The only explanation that would work for this to make sense is if one of her stronger forms resists it like Skullion did and BSS is not who Gray is refering to

If you're arguing that Mira would lose because she uses demon takeovers and he uses DeS magic then why are you also saying that DeS spells like ice make silver and his ice devil's zeroth long sword are fodder moves and/or countered by Ajeel. That's like half of the DeS spells he knows.

I was being sarcastic. Many on this forum say stuff like hype and statements don't count, especially when it comes to Mira, so I am questioning how suddenly when there's a feat ie her drawing with someone in her weakest form while Gray lost in his strongest, in addition to so much hype that this is still being discussed. Forget the vs and the DeS vs Mira, the fact that people are still debating if she's stronger is funny.

It would prove nothing. If Gray who is nearly fresh has to wait for Mira to get out of two battles, the last one being with someone stronger than him, and he has to wait until she's injured and low on power before he beats her, it would just prove that he can't do it on his own. If it's high, mid or even low diff he already admitted he was waiting for this to strike. It's not like Laxus low diffing Kyria before fighting Erza. Mira is actually injured and tired from fighting Skullion to a draw.
If the manga was intentionally "hinting" DeS isnt as effective on her, they would've said "I doubt it would work on her even with DeS magic" or something a long those lines. They made a comparison in power, not in their affinity to Gray's magic. Mashima isn't subtle about character affinity, if there is no mention of DeS weakness in their battle, then sure, Mira probably isn't affected by it. Cana's comment doesn't suggest anything though.

Zeroth Longsword isn't fodder, it deals damage, it's merely the insta-freezing aspect of it that is utterly useless. As for Silver, it's a utility move, maybe Gray could use it to momentarily immobilize Mira in order to set up a good hit, but beyond that it's not doing anything.

Oh, I didn't realize, I've always used hype and statements on top of feats, I even still think Jellal's strong lol. But I can tell you why its was always "gimme feats for Mira and not Gray or whoever else", it's because by default Mirajane doesn't get the benefit of the doubt and even with actual feats, unless theyre entirely concrete, she's still on thin ice.

Gray didn't admit that he was waiting for this to strike, just that he expected it and is happy about it. We already know Gray was perfectly willing to go in there guns blazing. If Gray settles it with mid diff or less, then he can propably beat her regardless of injuries.

The fact Gray needs to wait until she is exhausted to fight Mira already tells me he loses.

And if the manga was outright letting it be known that DeS would let Gray beat her easily then Gray would not admit that his Ice Devil's Zeroth Long Sword would work on her as well as it did Skullion. So it's hinted, I didn't say confirmed, but hinted strongly that DeS wouldn't work on her in the way people think it would. I may be wrong and that is fine however denying what is here and information as it comes just because of bias is not logical.

His Zeroth Long sword is one of his DeS spells. He used it on Skullion to hurt and freeze him. Unless you are saying that Gray was thinking that he could hurt her but not freeze her, your assumption makes little sense. So Gray can harm her with his moves but not freeze her so he doesn't want to do it even though knocking her out is all they need for Cana to trap her and Wendy to release her from the WW's spell?

Probably is your opinion. If Mira is injured and low on magic and Gray settles this with mid diff it proves he's weaker than her for sure. How can you mid diff someone who is weakened badly while your are okay but be stronger than them at full power? Even low diff doesn't prove it because he'd be low diffing an injured, tired and weakened Mirajane and if she's using her weaker forms when this happens then it makes it look even worse for Gray. Kinda like how she used her weakest form to draw with Skullion while Gray lost to him in his strongest.

And all this is ignoring the fact that people, Gray included, already hyped her as someone who would be tough along with Laxus, Jellal, Gajeel; as someone who would be a pain to deal with; as someone who can beat Skullion; as someone Gray expected to attack when injured. Gray saying this along with the rest calling him a coward also proves that Mashima wants us to know that this is Gray's strategy and that he was waiting for her to be weakened after talking about how strong she was, how she would resist his freezing like Skullion and how she'd beat Skullion. It's not hard to grasp the context clues. Mira's strong and S class so without POF even Gray would be in trouble against her. And unless they are fighting enemies, so far they don't get POF buffs vs other FT members.

It's bias because when Mira gets limited or loses, an actual reason is given in canon to explain it. She lost to Azuma because she wanted to save Lisanna, Erza only won because the tree sided with her; against Seilah she lost fair and square and had to use strategy since the Etherious demons, Seilah and Kyoka were clearly stronger than her and Erza while Gray got a power up that was kryptonite to demons to win and Erza asspulled her way to a POF win that people still talk about today.

In Alvarez she never got a chance to fight a spriggan properly while Gray POF-ed his way into beating one after he had an advantage because of his magic vs Invel's ice armor. Elfman and Lisanna beat Ajeel and Erza struggled vs him and would have lost without Bisca so we can't say that Mira would not be able to stand up to a spriggan until and unless she got a POF or convenient match up moment to win like Gajeel and Gray did nor can we say that she would do worse than Gajeel or Gray had she gotten matched against one of the demonic spriggans (Bradman or Larcade).

And to repeat what people use against Mirajane, past feats are past feats and sorry to break it to everyone here but now the final arc and Tartaros are past feats and current feats have Mira > Gray even IF the past 2 arcs did not. She just drew with Skullion in her weakest form and Gray lost to him fairy easily when he went all out. Gray doesn't think he can take her unless she's injured as she is now and admitted she would not be affected by his freezing (DeS spells) as was the case with Skullion. There's no other way to interpret this in a logical way other than Mira is stronger generally and can resist DeS to a larger extent than people believe. This can change later on and she can be low diffed by DeS magic even in her strongest state, but for not it doesn't seem so.

He'd probably only beat her in Alvarez if Juvia died and he got mad which is what led to him beating Invel, along with Invel's magic matched against his own, and which led to him facing END before Erza stopped them bare handed. If they are both fresh and without POF it's dubious now especially, if he'd even be able to surely beat her in Alvarez.

Mira wins Mid difficulty
Woah, let's be fair here, it's going to be a high difficulty fight minimum either way. I can't see Mashima letting Mira win a fight that easily over Gray.

I hope it happens but most likely won't.

I think all out at full health Mirajane can and would likely high diff him because high diff can happen in different ways. It wouldn't be as close as Laxus vs Erza and it doesn't have to be.

However, did Skullion mid diff him? Taking into account that his DeS can be more useful against Mira than Skullion while at the same time remembering Mirajane having several more powerful forms than what she tied with Skullion with, I'd say that it can either be mid-high diff.

Low diff is Laxus vs Kyria, mid diff can be Gray vs Skullion and high diff would be Natsu vs Gajeel or Laxus vs Erza (this 1 is the highest high diff possible so far). It really depends on how Mashima writes it i.e. if he wants to contradict his BSS Mira = Skullion > Gray hype and to what extent or if he wants to keep Gray and Gajeel close to Mira/Erza i.e. high diff fights in the girls' favor which seems to be what we all agree would happen.

Given this, even without DeS vs a demon, Mashima can logically make someone like Gray can lose high diff to Mira but mid diff to Skullion despite Mira and Skullion drawing in their weakest forms.

Laxus vs Erza was an extreme diff not high. That's an example of the closest someone can come to victory before it's a tie.

No skullion did not mid-diff Gray, he one shot him. Skullion wasn't taking him seriously and just showing his power of ashing anything that's a solid. Once he got serious, he one shot-him no question.

Gajeel was bloodlust and trying to kill but Natsu wasn't and the fight was off-paneled.

Also take in the situation, Gray is near full MP while Mira just got done a fight that lasted like 12 chapters.

IMO: No way it's anything less than high diff for either of them.

I didn't take extreme into account. I just ranked it high, mid and low. Well Gray countered him a bit and landed a hit so idk if it would be low or mid. Laxus vs Erza is really the closest I've seen to a draw without a draw actually happening so that is the highest diff I can think of.

Well yes but if Gray is near full power and she's 'quite injured' would it still be high diff for him to win? At full health I think she can win with mid tbh.

No, if DeS magic is or isn't a factor it'll be mentioned in the actual battle. Not mentioning it before hand doesn't constitute a hint, it's merely not mentioning it.

Well yeah, Zeroth Longsword would hurt and not freeze her, because freezing is garbage. In order for freezing to be an option Gray would need to be able to oneshot her, because thats what successful freezing is, a oneshot. He can damage Mira with Zeroth Longsword, but there's no way he's freezing her with it. As for Gray not doing it, he's not going to try and freeze everyone at once, he will be using Zeroth Longsword.

Of course it's my opinion. If Gray mid diffs Mirajane then that means he didn't need to use his full power, which should be a match for Mirajane who had already spent some of her power. Mid diffing means Gray with less than full power>Mirajane with less than full power, and if both are at less than full power and Gray wins, then that probably means that when both are at full power Gray wins too. The only question is how much effort Gray spends in comparison to how much power Mira wasted on Skullion, given the fact that she was only in base, and that Skullion and Madmole weren't even out of breath, I'd say she didn't spend an exorbitant amount of power.

Who are you calling bias? Mashima? The fact that Mira gets reasonable explanations in her fights is part of what makes her so much more loved than characters like Gray and especially Erza.

I haven't really talked about past feats to you, so I don't know why you're going on about that. For the rest, Gray was willing to jump in the ring with a healthy Mira, not thinking he can freeze her dont mean shit cause freezing never does anything, Gray doesn't think he's weaker than Skullion and no, another way to logically interpret things is that Gray wanted to take Mira, but was simply convinced by the gang that getting into a free for all with Strauss and DEs was a bad idea.

Remember were going off of Alvarez for Mira and Gray since both are practically featless. I will say that yes even in this situation it will be a high diff since I do believe DeS will be a big factor but as of right now, I don't really know.

Going out of his way to say his freezing would not work on her when it's a DeS spell and involved him actually hitting her with it before the freeze is a crucial detail. If it was as effective as people on here think, it would have been mentioned. And this is me referring to people believing that it gives him a HUGE advantage over her and guarantees him a win. And whether he agreed or not means nothing since at the end of it all he shared the same belief and believed that it would work on her as it did Skullion. Skullion was slashed with it then frozen. In order for him to actually agree that it wouldn't work on Mirajane he would have to remember what transpired with Skullion i.e. DeS magic. If it was just ice make magic I'd agree with you however the fact that it is DeS magic raises the question regarding how effective DeS magic is on her and if it's as it was believed to be.

Gray has been hyping Mira and even Skullion. He clearly thinks she's stronger and mentioned them both together. Even if he begrudgingly thinks so and wants to get stronger and would end up beating him, in the moment he has complained about having to deal with both of them and excluded Elfman and Madmole. Add in the fact that we have actually seen Gray lose to Skullion after trying his best DeS spells and we can deduce that Skullion is stronger. He wouldn't rank him with Mira after losing to him if he didn't at least think that the guy was stronger for now.

You see the issue is that you are making a false equivalence between Gray's current state and Mira's current state. They are both arguably not at full power but Mirajane is injured significantly and has just now finished fighting with someone who beat Gray for a significant amount of time. It's not that oh well Gray is not at full strength so if he beats her it proves he's close in power or greater than she is even when they are both at full power. That's clearly false. There is no comparison between Gray right now and Mirajane in terms of injuries and exhaustion. Gray even said she's quite injured and we actually see this. All this is dishonest and an attempt to somehow save Gray from apparently being held as weaker than her which right now he is definitely portrayed to be. So no, if Gray beats her, just as he hinted, it's because she's quite injured while he is close to full strength. It is also false to claim that she didn't use much magic and imply that she didn't weaken much or use much power in her fight. Reminder that this man beat Gray low-mid diff and smiled while doing it.

You are creating your own scenario that is not congruent with the manga. Gray and Mirajane are not equally injured nor have they expended the same amount of power. So one cannot do the math and say well Mirajane is at half strength and Gray is at half strength so if they fight now the result would be the same as if they were at full power/health. That's false.

These are not the same:

The bias I am referring to is in response to you mentioning people wanting feats for Mirajane and not Gray and ignoring hype for her and the logical reasons for her losses. And when I refer to past feats I am referring to the general notion online that feats matter but apparently Mira's new feats don't. And even if you don't subscribe to this I don't see how what has happened in 100 years quest so far still convinces you that Gray would beat Mira in a fight while both are at full power just because he has DeS.

Feats and hype place her above Gray right now and the only thread people have to hang on to in his favor is his DeS being very effective against her which he himself has brought into question by complaining about facing her, saying she'd resist his DeS just as Skullion did, saying he expected to fight her now, when she's quite injured.

So what I am saying is that it is too soon for anyone to say that Gray would beat Mirajane in a fair fight because of these recent developments and his very own statements.

I believe that DeS can be a huge factor but I think it can also not be, solely because of what Gray has said, even as far back as Alvarez and even now. So I need to see what happens. My issue is however how people on here are still acting like Gray can low diff her even at full power because he's a DeS. Regardless of what, that's crazy.

I also don't like that it's Gray near full power vs a very weakened Mira and the ramifications of her losing i.e. how people would twist that to prove that Gray > Mirajane in power and in terms of a vs when the author has made it clear that regardless of the outcome, she's injured very badly and is generally more powerful while hinting at Gray's DeS not being enough for him to guarantee a win even when both at are full power.

We just gotta wait for the next chapter. However I personally believe that Mira will win and that will somehow tie into the main plot.

I do think, also, that if she wins now it really puts her closer to Erza and Laxus than people think she is currently or would like because so much would be against her even if we ignore DeS having a significant advantage over her. She is injured greatly, sweating, panting, likely low on power and this is because she just stalemated someone who beat Gray without much effort. If he still gets beaten especially if he really has the same advantage he had over Tempesta etc. it really would speak volumes about Mirajane and leave little room for discussion in the whole Mira = Erza debate.

That's a whole other debate and me personally, I'm not going to touch that one as of right now because I don't want to trigger anyone.

I'll just say that if Mira wins, she has justified her hype and deserves more respect.

She is not as injured as you think she is. It's not like she can't stand or she can't continue fighting. She can move perfectly fine. She was in her weakest form and if Gray mid diff her in her strongest form then she can indeed beat her. Anything else happen Mira should be stronger for now.

If an injury, or another form of nerf is called into play then it usually holds a pretty big significance in a fight. For example Erza's injuries after the Ajeel fight led her to getting beat up by people she'd normally fodderize, Natsu low on MP got KO-ed in one hit by a dude he was stomping with basic punches, and there are more instances. If some sort of status condition (that acts like a nerf in this case) is mentioned then that should be a very important detail that shouldn't be undermined as they are usually noted by the author for a reason.

Mirajane is not as nerfed as either one was. Mirajane wasn't injured to the extent that Erza during his fight against Ajeel. Don't know about Natsu he had enough magic to use demo fist Makarov.
