Okay, so, last night, I played Pistol / Pistol Thief to level up a bit. Unload is super fun, but I guess this is a limited setup according to what I have read around the forums.

I might try Sword / Pistol next. I wasn't thinking out of box, like never giving besides Dagger / Dagger any chance, mainly because it's "Thief".

From the limited I played, Engineer seemed super lame as Pistol/Shield compared to RIfle....

well, engineer mostly plays with kits anyway afaik

bombs, elixers, flamethrower or w/e

yeah in pvp theres this large map mode, guild v guild I believe, which also involves zone control and tower defense. engineers can usually hold these points by themselves because of their cc and sturdiness with the shield

I mean, ofc it has pve uses and meaning etc, this is just how a guild guy explained it when I told him shield on engineer was stupid rofl

I have a feeling it's just a way to differentiate them from Thiefs and Rangers. Plus their spells sort of fit into the motif.

It wouldn't make much sense for Engineers to use the same weapons as a Thief. Because if it isn't a shield, the secondary weapon would have to be melee. Otherwise they'd be too similar to Rangers.

oh I see what you mean

weapons can be used differently anyway, ranger axe is ranged while warrior axe is melee, so that wouldn't necessarily be the case. buuut I do understand what you mean hm
