I'm the average guy from Singapore who's not doing much but just waiting enlistment into national services. Since it's a 3 months wait from now, I figured I would try new stuff and am looking to help translate stuff Chinese -> English although I know that most groups are looking for Japanese translator.

Do you study Chinese particularly? Or is it one of your mother tongue?

Eh... As for mangas I read, there's plenty from different genres but some I can remember off my head are... One Piece, Bakuman, Liar Game, Shin Angyo Onshi, Bitter Virgin, Eyeshield21 etc. I enjoy most manga I read though so I can't really name any favorites and this short list is a very small portion of what I have read although I dare say what I have read probably falls short of what most people here have read.

Welcome! Another poor soul waiting to join the service...maybe you can tell zeltrax about the whole experience...

There are groups that are looking for Chinese...but if you can not find a manga to translate, you can always translate from spoiler pics, because usually the first, complete HQ scans are in chinese so...

Anyway, welcome to MH!...enjoy the forums...we can see each other more on the Naruto boards for example

Well... There are lots of series that I read when new chapters come out while not anticipating the next chapter (E.g Bleach, Fairy Tail etc.). I guess following a series would mean anticipating the next chapter after every chapter and for that list there's... The World God Only Knows, Bakuman, Naruto, One Piece, Liar Game (It's on hiatus though), Cage of Eden, Rinko Days etc.

and I'm a chinese too...but my grades are terrible and I dropped chinese
Is it easier to learn japanese when you're chinese? I'm not sure..

Not much from my side, actually. In fact, nothing at all. I'm busy with college now so I don't follow any manga or anime (to prevent myself from being distracted too much XD), so mostly I spend my times online going to forums or just browsing around.

I'd love to see Liar Game being continued, though. It's awesome. I wanna see more. You watched the live action as well?

Hey, nice to meet you too. Well, my name's a common one so not much surprise there considering I know at least three people with the same name as me. Well, I haven't been taking serious Japanese lessons so I can't comment on that part although I have a cousin who's bad at Chinese and pretty fluent with Japanese. I live in the west area, around Bukit Timah. As for favorite anime/manga well, I don't watch much anime but my favorite one so far is probably Code Geass I guess as for favorite manga, it changes from time to time but at the moment I would say The World God Only Knows and Bakuman.

Thanks for the link! I had already email a couple of groups though and working on a chapter at the moment but due to being a first-timer, I have no idea with most of the stuff I have to do lol. Hoping to learn by asking around the group. But anyway, thanks for the link!

Don't worry about being a first-time. Usually scan groups have forums, so you can go there and see how they work on chapters. As far as I know, you can go sign up for a chapter to work or wait for the leader to contact you with chapter to work on.

Ah, the movie? To be honest I found the movie disappointing as well. Maybe because the tension was not so high compared to what I saw on the live action. But I agree, most of original works would always stay the best. :3 My friend told me that the live action characters' appearance don't really suit the characters on the manga. XD

Maybe it's not very clear on the movie, but from some episodes in the drama, I think I could get this scary aura around him, which made him awesome. :P

I see.. I found Akiyama's hair to be a bit unnatural though, but I agree that his face suits the look from the manga. Nao is pretty much a good fit for the role in my opinion and Yokoya seems different from the manga entirely, he doesn't have the right hair and the line-like eyes but I still find him suitable for the role.

Well, every one has different ways of learning, I wouldn't call that a weakness. But wouldn't that mean that at one point in time, you were editing, typesetting and proofreading? That seems pretty much to me lol.
