Is it already the longest hiatus? How far are we from it?

this is the worst hiatus ever.

I mean, we had an insanely long pause already, then the two kurapica chapters which raised interest again, only to get nothing for a long time after it.

We had the anime which got everyone pumped when togashi finally returned, and then we only get a few chapters.

The timing is so unfortunate.

If only we had a rough estimate about when it will end.

Not to mention we see the prince surrounded by Kurta eyes and Pirous fucking head in a jar in the middle...... lol. Togashi is torturing his fans with this. Ill wait as long as I need to though.

Yes, that is another issue.

He brought legitimately interesting new characters into the mix (like the fourth, the zodiac, beyond and the guy from the agency who wants to prevent ppl from getting into the new world).

I am incredibly hooked on the whole ship situation of the princes trying to kill each other.

On the plus side, at least HxH can never be rushed^^

But the new world seems like there could be a whole manga focussed arround it.
It brings up infinite possibilities for Toagshi to explore. But with his pace, i do not think he can go on for another 340 chapters.

On the other hand, he is good at solving issues 'on the go'.

I mean, in the short election arc he resolved the issue of gon meeting ging and partially gave us a nice closure between killuah and his family matters (for now).

I am convince he is able to solve the matters of kurapica and the spiders quickly in one arc while also letting hisoka (possibly) get his fight with chrollo

There's no need for a Kuroro vs Hisoka fight. The anticlimatic feeling that their last confrontation left is poetic enough for me.

that is true, but chrollo will very likely get his powers back and then hisoka will want to challenge him.

All in all, i think the things togashi should solve are:

-origin of Alluka's strange powers (likely has to do with dark continent)
-Kurapica's revenge
-pariston/ging rivalry and pariston's ant project
-The fate of don freeks
-Jairo plotline
-how did the ants get into the human world in the first place?

Those are the things i think should definitely be resolved.

But if i am honest, i think with the new world and the variety of characters, HxH would have enough material to last as long as one piece.

Interesting. The Ant Queen was first seen injuries. She could have been brought by a ship in a King Kong fashion, but escaped?

All i want to see is a proper Hisoka fight.... I dont see HxH concluding without one, most likely with him and Gon.

Kolokon is right about HxH being the king of anticlimax tho.

I can see Hisokabeing pumped up and raging through every strong character, curbstomping them, just to be brought down by a weaker character holding a grudge against him which he didnt exspect.

Hisoka getting killed by canary would be fun.

The most Hisoka has ever used full strength was in dodge ball. He was so badass with how he beat Razor's ass. Also, I thought it was fairly obvious that Beyond is the one who put the Queen on the shoreline because he knew it would result in his father, Netero's, death. Wasn't Beyond restricted from the dark continent until his father passed away? Beyond set it all up since he knew his dad was getting old and would want an epic 1 on 1 fight. The reason i say that is because Netero could've easily brought ONE zodiac with him to ensure victory.

i dont think so. If you read the ants arc, pokkle's death was the reason why the ants managed to go nearly unsuspected. This give them the required time to capture humans to develop themselves.
if pokkle didnt die, then it could have been a better situation for Netero and the hunters

I do not judge beyond as someone who would willingly kill his own dad.
I could be wrong tho, but unless there is bad history between the two, i don't think so.

In my head canon, it was pariston who brought the ant queen there.

Pariston is all about creating chaos.
He does not care a lot whether the ants are beaten in time. It would not hurt him, he just did it for the heck of it.
If the ants get strong tho, he knew netero would go for a final fight, because netero searched for a worthy opponent for a long time.

it is true that netero could have brought more capable people to begin with, they could have exterminated the ants with a task force.
It wouldnt even take the zodiac, at the point when netero and co appeared meruem wasnt even born yet, they wer enot quick enough, and they could've been with more people.

I think netero wanted to do this alone.

I think netero has planned his death. He knew there were big chances that he wouldn't come back and he also knew that it was probably pariston who created that trouble.

I think Pariston is so sad about netero's death because netero had once again outplayed him and also denied him the chance for a rematch in playing with him. (this might be a bit farfetched, the 'outplayed' thing, but a lot of stuff, in my opinion, happened behind the scenes. Netero's and Pariston's day-to-day relationship remains mostly off screen, sadly).

The fact that netero has created several videos in which he obviously knew what would happen after his death points to it, in my opinion, that he knew the ant thing was a staged act.

In his end, i think netero was even thankful towards pariston for that final obstacle he created for him.

My god.. any news on manga resume? Im ok with a lazy author.. but hiatus with this frequency and length...? Even if he was sick and lazy he can literally draw 2-3 pages a day in his bed, at least we know hes trying.

ok, /end of rant.

His postoperative period should be about to end. If he had a normal job, his leave would be ending by now.

I think Shueisha will give him more time to rest. I still think odds are good for him to return before 2016.

This is hopeless. Even if he comes back, we know it won't be long till he decides to go back in the cave he's in right now. What if we all agree on dropping HxH, just a suggestion, and I'm seriously considering it. Maybe then he'll come to his senses.

What makes you think he cares about how many people read it, and online, at that?

I am absolutely fine if i get my 20 chapters fix once every year or even 1,5 years, the only unfortunate thing was that he had to break serialization this time because his back pains.

Nothing much to be done about that, i understand why he wants to finish the work alone and when the chapters come they are always top notch.

Furthermore, 20 chapters in HxH are more than it sounds.
The whole election arc got wrapped up quickly.

It's much better than with berserk where u only have 1-3 chapters without any foreseeable system, that breaks the reading flow.

Idk, maybe DESPERATION, I thought you people would too be familiar with. Plus, I think everybody here is trying to put Togashi on a pedestal. I mean, he is great, but most certainly not the best. Plus, he is so lazy; too damn lazy it makes me feel like I'm working as hard as a doctor in fucking Mumbai.

Not the best? Maybe.
But HxH is the best shonen right now, by far.
