He could do something related to the ft universe maybe tell the beginning of how magic came to be. Its really hard to say, i just hope its a new series and its good as rave (still need to finish reading it)

I'm guessing Hiro should stick with a parody, and a mahou shoujo one. This way he would avoid death flags and at the same time continue to explore PoF.

I hope Mashima's next series is a ****** since I do love ******, harem, and ecchi series. So if Mashima's next series is a ****** then I'll read Mashima's next series.

I hope the new series continues his Shounen work, but is more mature like Rave was. I'd honestly love if he used some of the characters from his one shots and expounded on their adventures. He has 4 male protagonist now, he might as well go all the way and make his next protagonist a woman. (yes Lucy, but she had to share the spotlight) Those are just off the top of my head. The thing id really want though, is his next series to make Mashima Verse canon. Show that all his manga are in the same world

I was just trying to be different from others. You know, dark stories aren't for him, FT is the proof of this. You saw that none of the good side of characters died and everything was solved by the PoF. And mahou shoujo stories are almost like this, none of the heroines die and if this happens, everyone is revived by a miracle/some sort of legendary power. Not only that, but has a bit of slice of life, ****** (like SM), school, and last but not least, fantasy.

I forget who died in Mermaid Melody though I haven't watched Mermaid Melody in a while so that could be why I forgot. I wouldn't mind Mashima doing that kind of series but I rather see Mashima do a ****** and ****** tend to senien depending on the ******, I think.

Spoiler: Past, Present and Future Guess

Hiro recently seems to be very interested in Dragon Quest series as we can see it on his Twitter and this could be a hint of his next work. If we analyze his previous works, we're able to make a guess a la DQ mode. In Rave, the protagonist plays the HERO role, fighting with his sword and displaying some magical ability, as stated by Natsu in FT x Rave OVA; in Monster Soul (his short story) the MC plays the role of MONSTER (it has something to do with DQ, remember the Monsters spinoff); in Fairy Tail, the main (it's up to you to guess who) plays the MAGE role, and no matter how close to common an ability is, it's still treated as some kind of magic, save for alchemy, ability known by ITEM MASTER(Alchemist)/MECH(Machias); in Monster Hunter Orage, the main plays the obvious HUNTER(Ranger) role; in Hoshigami no Satsuki, one of his one-shots, the main plays the WARRIOR(Armamentist) role (in Eastern style), still displaying some magical ability, but at minimum possible (the girl uses magic to forge her sword) and in Kaze to Taiyou (can't remember the exact name, sorry), another one-shot, the MC plays the THIEF (Treasure Hunter) role. As we can see, there is some link between his works and DQ Jobs. So, if I can make a DQ-styled guess, I think he will stick with FIGHTER (Martial Artist) class. Maybe you're asking "Don't we already have a manga/anime about this?" and I answer "Yeah, but DB isn't focused more in fistfights rather than ki skills?" Hiro can surely balance ki skills and fistfights, and make a "mashup" of DB and BTtH (also known as Doupo Cangqiong, yeah, a chinese manhua, and DB's counterpart), and don't underestimate his story writing, because he's "a box full of surprises" (FT0 is a fairly good written story).

Again taking a look, and a more detailed one at Hiro's works we can see "secondary classes". In Rave, there is the MAGE as secondary class; in Monster Soul there is the HUNTER(Ranger) class; in Fairy Tail there is the DEMON (despite not being a class, but a race) class. So maybe you're wondering "what's the common thing about these?". It's the fact that the secondary class of his "current work" becomes the main in the following. MAGE was the secondary class in Rave, and became the main in Fairy Tail; HUNTER(Ranger) class was the secondary class in Monster Soul, and became the main in Monster Hunter Orage, so it's expected for the DEMON class to become the main in his next work, which could be a Mashima-esque version of Aoto Jou's one-shot, Devil Clutch.

Agreed, he was too much of a male chauvinist! Remember Cattleya from Rave? Hiro intended to make an uncle (Makarov lookalike/doppelganger) instead of an older sister for Haru! Not only that, but the way he handled women in FT was terrible! Erza for plot, Lucy for fanservice, Cana for Fairy Glitter spamming (post Tenroujima Arc), Mira for hype... They were used as tools!
EDIT: No shounen means no action-filled story, right? hmm... yeah, I think I got it now. Sorry about my misinterpretation and still agree with you, since no shounen > no battles > no death flags. That's more fitting for him than this.

I don't think so. How is changing a character from male to female chauvanistic? If anything having more female characters in shonen is a positive. Lucy was shown from the start to take down enemies (Attacking Boros on his ship) and Erza can kick ass. Gray is the character with the most fanservice. The dude is half naked and sometimes naked all the time. However, it's ignored because he is a male.

Yeah. At the end of the day, Hiro does better with female characters than almost all the other authors. At least his main women continue to be relevant and powerful. An there isn't a realistic chance that Mashima isn't going to do a battle Manga. It's what he enjoys. An in all honesty I wouldn't be interested in a slice of life manga. Just me being real

We all know that Mashima is very secretive with ads, he just drops dripper tracks to prepare the way.

Equally remember that he does not seem to be very well Health, so maybe his next series could be shorter.

Something that I would like more than a sequel to FT is that it made a kind of Sequel to ALL of its stories, something like a Multiverse where I join all the universes of Manga that I believe but with some new character to explore and close the plot holes that remained.
