Anyway its just a theory and every piece of evidence that most fans have to support this claim is at best speculation

I dont think its "wishful" but you are right about it being baseless. But then again they are only manga fans not the CIA.Beyond that it's based on absolutely nothing
It's basically wishful thinking
I'd say yes. Togashi said he liked it and that he'd like to draw why Hisoka was on the ground at the beginning their interview. So if he draws this one day its canonicity couldn't be denied IMO.Does anybody know if this is canon?

Not really, the Hatsu thing aside(which is influenced by the environment). Wing estimated that Gon and Killua could learn Nen in a week or even earlier. Gon also knew how to use Zetsu even before learning Nen. They knew how to spread their Aura instinctively too.If this is canon then hisoka is even more talented than gon and killuah, learning gyo on the spot, developing his hatsu on the spot too.
That's just insane.
I also LOVED the spinoff! So engrossing, and fit incredibly well with the HxH canon. Hisoka learning nen from a serial killer, infiltrating a trope prior to sneaking into another one years down the line, and being as insatiable as ever made this one of the best one-shots I've read in a long time.Just finished reading the spinoff. I really enjoyed it and wouldn't have a problem with this being canon.
Definitely not bad story but the art is another case... It looks absolutely horrendous, and I do hope it gets redrawn.Just finished reading the spinoff. I really enjoyed it and wouldn't have a problem with this being canon.
(I don't see it contradicting anything from the Manga anyway...)

No homo.
