I don't know intimately, as my friend is a medical student or something. But the school can't seem to really do wrong in any field of study it offers.

Actually I have a bunch of friends who have been studying abroad since their first year, and none of them feel like coming back now that they're nearing the end, no matter where they are, whether it's England or Australia (latter sounds wonderful if you can avoid all the scary beasts).

I think I'll be fine. I'm used to being away from family and friends for a long time (my father and father side of my family live in Portugal). During my first semester at uni I was only home once for 5 days, although it counts as one visit. But yeah, the feels will be there.
Nothing wrong with rocking them beaches. Sun lotion, beautiful women in bikinis bouncing around, refreshment bums serving you cheap food while you sit in the sun like a beach bum, sharks in the water, mmmhhh.
