Only the first half of the fight, it ended mid way with the narrator questioning if Gon will survive or not.

I'm interested in whether we will see a flash of Kite next ep. In the manga Gon remembers Kite after he is slapped and scolded by Wing. Wonder if we will get a brief hint at that backstory. I hope so.

The hallway walk was done beautifully.

And IMO the sound effects for nen here in the 2011 surpass the 1999.
Yeah the light saber noise effect was cool. But that was the only cool effect.
Everything else sounded silly. Like when Hisoka disappears the nen skull on his finger.
Sounds MUCH better in the 2011 version. At least IMO.

I personally hated the 1999 series nen effect lol. The sound effects in general all sound good in the new anime.

absoluty bi-bi-bi-bi-BITCHIN' EPISODE! and next weeks only gonna get better

the nen really looked like smoke in this , and I liked how killua and Gon walked through Hisoka's nen. At first I wanted it to be more like the blizzard analogy the wing spoke of, but when I thought about it, the way it was shown made it look more like they were in control of the situation, which is a great thing. I was grinning like Hisoka XD

I loved the attandant trying to excite gon and killua and failing, and their casual responses at how they don't care were great.

because my video player was a total bitch to me today, It forze up at some of the momments, but overall I was able to see that the first half of gon vs. gido was handled well, wee need to get some gifs of those, as well as pics from he acctual ep, in particular Iwant a few of the counter girl realizing she wasn't exciting gon nor killua.

This ep gets a well deserved 10/10 for me, I didn't have any real problems that were the shows fault. *that damn video player on the other hand...*

Killua openly stated that they were most likely disabled due to being 'initiated' with Nen forcibly by the other 200 floor fighters. So yes they are most certainly disabled and will be represented in the same way as the manga.

Well episode 30 should be Chapters 50 and 51

52, 53 and 54 are the Hisoka vs Kastro fight

Episode 31 will be more focused on Kastro.
And episode 32 will be focused on Hisoka's crazyness, and it will end with this :

Normally I would be fine if they did it like

52 and 53 for episode 31

but then that would mean

54 and 55 for episode 32
and to me it would just seem weird to watch the fight then have
a recap of that same fight in the same episode and then further
recap in the next episode (when they use Gyo to watch the fight)? It would feel like it's dragging on.

The double episode works best because you get

31--the fight

32--the analysis.

and yes it would be a Kastro centered episode for 31.
Actually a bit of a tragedy if you think about it. Well for Kastro that is.

and 32 is Hisoka centered. We now know one of the magician's tricks.
But who the magician really is is the real mystery.


The 1999 series is a real troll when it comes to Hisoka vs Kastro.
It's like they build up to the fight in episode 40 and you think 41
is gonna be all intense battle, right? But then they do only the
first little bit of the fight and just skip through everything else.

They better not do that here! (Though I doubt they will)




Anyone else like the Nen song?
It sounds like we're hearing more of the
yoshihisa hirano that we remember from the death note ost
Well it sounds different of course but I mean we're getting
more choir type stuff and more serious sounds here and there.

Though I'm glad they aren't making it OVERLY serious.
Heavens Arena is pretty light hearted and then Whale Island is warm fuzzies.

Then Yorknew is cold and unforgivable

And I think I figure out something with how nen is in this series

White=Good and Pure Nen

Color=Dangerous Nen (not so much evil nen but it's intent is to cause damage)

I really like how they do ten here. Just like how I expected it
and they do it in a way that you can notice it easily but it doesn't
distract from the fight.

and ren just seems amazing. Especially when you see Hisoka is all like
"Oh so you come to challenge me? REN ATTACK!" and it's all crazy and awesome.

Up to till now, I still do not like the narrator voice. And considering that I do know what will be the outcome of the fight ,it took a way the whole suspense the narrator is trying to create.=.=
Anyhow, I'm quite liking the effect they are using for nen.The sound effect is quite good , I like the colour choice and how they show it as "smoke".
Madhouse seem to make some changes to some of the details and I think they are quite good.
Like Gon's room, it is huge compare to the one in the manga.

And the fighting stages seem to be much more modern ,with the fighters coming up from a platform.

I totally love the conversation between Gon,Killua and the receptionist.The way they stare at her crack me up.XD

The only real problem I have was with Zushi being there.I wish they didn't do that.He was literally a wallflower.Heck ,I don't think he even know why is he there.

Overall ,a good episode .

Definitely agreed on those. Ten really looks how it's supposed to be.
