I translate the titles from french, so there may be mistakes. If someone can translate directly from the japanese, please do it.

The titles are right on the money. From the Japanese:

31. Destiny And Tenacity
32. A Surprise Victory
33. The Frivolous Threat
34. Revenge With Competence

They'd be in all caps though. I wonder if the naming format will shift into Kanji after Heavens Arena.

why would it change to kanji?

I don't speak or write Japanese so I dunno the signifance of such a change. What was it before? Katakana? Hiranga? I dunno if those are even the right terms.

Going by the titles and pictures from this week's episode, 31 will cover 52 and 53. 32 will be Kastro's defeat and explaining Hisoka's nen. Can't wait to hear the line at the end of 55 from the narrator.

Yeah, that scene is one of the reasons why I like the narrator. It would be epic if they do it right.

I have to say, after seeing Kastro's character design and that couple of screenshots with Hisoka's arm detached from his body after all (yay! here's hoping that it won't be difficult for the viewer to understand what the hell is going on in that fight. With the old anime, I had to do a double take to make sure I hadn't missed a whole ep in between the start of the fight and its end by some chance) I'm pleased. And Kastro looks good, not Kuroro's level good, but good enough to prove the hypothesis that pretty boys with some potential have a lot more chances to survive an encounter with Hisoka than everybody else. But God forbid they waste that potential... not even good looks are going to help in that case.

The question is would you pay MORE for more bloody dvds?

Yes. I'll pay for more blood and uncensored scenes. I almost bought Fate/Zero blu rays because of that for that completely rip off price of 40 000 yen, but unfortunately (no, most likely fortunately) I ran out of money shortly before doing that.

I keep secretly wishing they at least shifted the titles into hiragana... kanji would be even better. Abundance of katakana where it shouldn't even be never fails to piss me.

It will be released on the 25th of May if I am not mistaken. However, I guess it will take about 10 days for it to be uploaded on the net.

Can someone help? I'm trying to translate Wing's remarks about "awakening an incredible monster". I got it as "とんでもない怪物を - こしてしまつたのかもしれません", but I can't get the first kanji in the second line.

I like to translate that line as: "I may have unfortunately created an outrageous monster."

The key words in setting the tone are the "te-shimatta," which is used to indicate regret. Wing is realizing how reckless he was in teaching Gon and Killua Nen. He just gave a twelve-year-old boy a loaded gun.

Would it not be 'I may have been wrong to awaken such an unthinkable monster'?

That would make more sense to me, like he's saying he has awoken something inside of someone (I can't recall who he is refering to). Like he never imagined he would awaken a monster from that person.

But that's just my opinion (coming from someone whose Japanese is rusty).

Well, my Japanese is rusty as well and I use multiple sites to translate the words and somehow rephrase them into coherent sentences.

Anyway, the reason to ask for a translation was because I heard in the old version Wing says he awakened two monsters instead of one like the new version, and I thought of translating the Japanese version of the manga to see if it was "monster" or "two monsters".

Yes he is referring to Gon exclusively, not Killua. The reason for this is because of what he just witnessed Gon do. He is wondering whether teaching Gon nen was a bad idea as Gon was reckless and could have died. It's like he gave a 12 year old the keys to a brand new car and told him not to drive it. Of course Gon drove it and he crashed. Wing feels to blame. You don't give a kid something dangerous and tell them not to try it, kids are curious and reckless.

Re-watched episode 30 'coz well, I'm planning to make a review... maybe. The lack of blogs covering the new anime itches me to do them... maybe.

I love how subtle the new series is in giving info just like the manga.

When Kurapika went to a Hunter agency, we get this convo:

“I said that I have a Hunter License!” - Kurapika
“But your exam hasn’t ended yet. I can tell.” - Hunter Agency Lady

He left and a while later, a man "greeted" him:

"Fate had a hand in crossing our paths. Consider this advice from a veteran…" - Mizuken while showing he got Kurapika's Hunter license.

After showing Kurapika how powerless he is, he then strangely echoes what the Hunter agency lady said:

“Come with me. I’ll be your teacher. The real exam has only just begun.”

Man, the Hunter network sure is vast… and stalkerish.

BTW was it ever actually said else where from the 2011 series that the tattoo lady that she works for the Hunter Agency?

I thought she was someone that worked for the mafia. A recruiter basically.
