Quite the nice ep this week (late comment, but whatever =D)! The anime is on a roll ever since the start of Heaven's Arena imo ^^'
Also, nice color scheme for Kastro. Somehow, the green outfit plus the yellow cape screams brazil for me, lol =P

Kastro's cape's yellow color is eye catching but it's logically challenged, as in the cases of Pokkle's and some other characters' new clothes. When one conjures a double to fight for a living, you would think he will make it less noticeable as possible so that his opponents can't figure out his secret, so a cool white cape that blends in with his clothes and the floor makes much more sense than a warm yellow one.

Also just in response to Pokyymon from the other page, One Piece has only recently moved to this time slot. For YEARS it aired at night, since New World arc it has moved the Sunday mornings. Have you seen any super violence since New World? I have not. Regardless, each station has their own guidelines and different target audiences, Fuji TV and NTV will not have the exact same restrictions in terms of censorship, it'd be a fairer comparison if they were on the same station. But regardless since moving to it's current timeslot One Piece has dialled it back quite a lot in terms of violence.

They've changed its time slot to 9:30AM at episode 279, in the beginning of the Ennies Lobby Arc, and have kept it until this day. Actually since then, the most violent episodes of One Piece have aired with minimal censorship. In the middle of the 9th Season, One Piece was changed time slots from Saturday night to Sunday Morning. When this happened, 5 episodes were played that recapped the Straw Hats' backstories for any new viewers the time slot change may have brought in.

I hope you'll stop your denials at this point.

Yep. I'm done griping about episode 30. It disappointed me but it was still a good episode.

I just hope Hisoka vs Kastro is better

Are you talking about the manga? If so, I think that's a guarantee. Killua will clearly not be training while he is on the run with Alluka, Gon however will probably continue to get stronger.

save the controversy for the next episode, if this argument stemmed from mere still images then god help us all this saturday. But I really do hope they do something clever à la Killua vs Jones to get around the censorship, this might be the most hyped HXH episode yet.

As long as the Hisoka vs Kastro fight is fully shown with great animation, and it depicts Hisoka losing both arms I'll be happy lol.

But it seems a lit bit subtle. I wish they would be a bit more heavy
on shadows.

Yeah but think about it this way. Kastro was foolish enough to use a double and not
realize that the original would look different because of the dirt and grime from the
battle. Plus it's not supposed to camoflauge with the floor. It hides in his shadow.

I think we best wait for Hisoka vs Kastro before deciding how censored this series is.
Because there's still a very good chance that the animators just didn't put in
Gon's bruised forehead in this episode out of laziness rather than censorship.

I'm not saying Hisoka vs Kastro won't be censored but just that it's difficult to tell
as there has been censorship before then other times they've been having blood
and not trying to hide it at all. For example Gon cutting his eye.

I guess this means no double episode.

It's not that I mind having two seprate episodes for Hisoka vs Kastro.

But it's gonna be weird if Episode 31 is the first half of the fight
and then Episode 32 is the second half of the fight with a explanation of the fight
and then Episode 33 is another explanation of the fight.

I hope they can do it in a way that doesn't seem redundant.

But it's only "not a big deal" to you because either 1. you don't care about the Gon vs Gido fight or 2. You are fine with the level of animation used and wouldn't mind if that level of animation was used in Hisoka vs Kastro.

I was looking forward to Gon vs Gido and especially the zetsu scene.
It did NOT meet my expectations and I don't think they were too high.

Anything less would be inexcusable! I've defended Madhouse enough as it is.
I think it's time that Madhouse goes all out and shows us what they are capable of.

and I STILL think they are capable of AMAZING stuff.

Ok maybe not Hayao Miyazaki amazing. But still good.
We've already seen that the level of animation is usually better than Gon vs Gido's zetsu scene.

Heck the scene where Gon is knocked out of the ring is downright beautiful.

(though I wish they didn't use the same angle twice)

But anywho, I'm done griping about the episode. I said my beef and now I'm done.
There is stuff I liked and stuff I didn't like but I wanna focus on Hisoka vs Kastro.

I've seen all possible kinds of censorship. I've seen multicolored blood, I've seen flashes, I've seen smokes, I've seen plain stumps, I've seen invert scenes, I've seen shadows, I've seen hiding behind an object... I don't think I'd be that surprised if they're going to use of these methods.

Then the chapter after is the explanation of the fight.

Then the chapter after that is Gon and Killua analyzing the fight with Wing and Zushi.

Episode 33: Fight explained more (Gyo). Killua threatens Sadaso

Episode 36: the rest of the Gon vs Hisoka

I dunno about you but I don't like that schedule all too much. It doesn't flow.

Instead I prefer

Episode 31/32: Hisoka vs Kastro full fight in a double episode

Episode 33: Fight Explained and Gyo

Episode 34: Killua threatens Sadaso. Gon threatens Gido

Episode 35: Killua vs Riehlvelt. Gon prepares for his fight

Episode 36/37: Gon vs Hisoka full fight in a double episode

Yes indeed, Heaven's Arena arc is a hard one to pace, which is why I feel that we will see a little more Mizuken/Kurapika and perhaps Leorio learning about Nen (probably from a book). I think that to make the pacing and flow better we will get some small filler bits for padding.

I don't mind censorship as long as it's at the very least stylised (Hisoka vs. Togari) or not distracting.

I think Hisoka will lose his arms. The story of the fight depends upon it. I suspect blood will be lessened.
