Yeah, he is.
Yep and you remember how Hisoka defined enhancers:

Simple-minded. XD

I'm not too sure Wing was thinking too far ahead when he broke the window.

That's strange. Get him on more episodes Madhouse.

Is Hisoka going to pull the card out of his arm? There is clearly blood on the card.
I will be very happy if Hisoka pulls the card out of his arm. :)

Next episode looks like it will be more violent.

Awesome episode! While I did think that the first half of the fight was pretty meh, it then started to get really cool. It left me wanting more. Seriously, I cannot wait to see the rest of this fight! Oh and I love the way Zetsu was animated!!
I actually rather like the first half. Did a good job of hyping up the battle. I just wish the episode was longer and a double episode so we got the whole fight.

Question for you all...

Which chapters would you like a double episode of? Pick either 3 or 4 consecutive chapters.

I would pick the entire Gon vs Hisoka fight which is Chapters 61, 62 and 63

This fight plus Gon vs Hisoka really should be a double-episode. Thing is double-episodes aren't really that common. I mean the only series that I can remember doing something like that would be Naruto, Bleach, One Piece and Kekkaishi. I wonder why more series don't do them, perhaps it's a scheduling issue?

Are these from the actual Chinese version or a fan edit?

If they are from the genuine Chinese version, then you better think again if you think the censorship of this episode is terrible!

That should be the actual episode. Hisoka's face was more bloodied in the 99 version. However what happened with the arm was
that it would always go past the screen border and spin around so you never really saw it severed. I don't think there was very
much blood when Kastro got hit by cards. Of course I've only seen the English and Japanese.

What I wanted to know if the edited scenes from my previous post were from the Chinese version (The clip had Chinese subtitles) or a fan edit.

You know I don't really get why the 99 series skipped the majority of the fight. I mean they already showed the most graphic parts couldn't they have just
shown the rest as censored? Well that's bridge under the water. Glad we are getting the fight now!

Also there's a small chance we may see Hisoka eat his arm as it happens in the beginning of the next chapter.
It's of course implied that it's the same moment but hey they could always include it.
I don't think there's really anything remarkably objectionable about it aside from just being weird.

Though it will be fun if they do Hisoka's "card trick". I love the part where the audience is trying to follow along and see if they get the same answer.

I'm guessing they will based off of the preview.

But yeah I'm really looking forward to next episode.

Ah I see. I dunno then. It just looks like it was a bad quality version. Like worse than 240p bad.

They will definitely do it. It's Hisoka's ace up his sleeve after all ;)

Fireworks instead of blood, hm... I can live with that, but I hoped to see at least a little blood, you know? Just for the sake of some semblance of realism. But there was only one blood drop for the whole ep... And yeah, I expected them to omit the arm-eating scene, and they did. Also, there was a moment when Kastro was running the short distance between himself and Hisoka for a ridiculously long period of time, which put a crooked smile on my face. On the other hand, Kastro's attack looked really awesome, like a boss move.

Ah, and what Kastro said about Hisoka doing his nen initiation, was it in the manga as well? I don't seem to remember:( If it was really Hisoka who performed the rite of nen initiation for Kastro, then he was being kinda considerate and gentle, almost un-Hisoka-like, cause Kastro apparently didn't suffer any crutial damage or lose any limbs. Or was it because of Hisoka's pretty-boys-in-sight syndrome that he didn't want to ruin Kastro's pretty face...:eyeroll

Anyway, overall, the episode was certainly very enjoyable. Really looking forward to the next ep! (what, it's still a whole week away? arg!) Machi with pink hair looks better than I thought she would, and now I really want to hear her speak (I hope the voice fits her completely overhauled appearance).

Yes, it was mention.

I actually wish they show this.It would have made the episode perfect.

Also, this has been talked about many times. There isn't much blood to begin when Hisoka's arm was severed in the manga .Also , due to his aura surrounding his severed arm, there wasn't much blood flowing out from the wound.Only when he remove the aura from there,it will bleed.

CR mistranslated Hisoka's last line (the infamous arm-eating scene) by missing the sexual innuendo. It's a homophone--when Hisoka says "I think I have a little motivation now," in Japanese, it sounds the exact same as "I think I want to do it with you a little now...<3"

The heart is included in the original text, lol. I wish CR included Hisoka's suit symbols in their subtitles. Anyways, great episode. Both halves were spectacular.

There was no heart

Not even here

And for the record, Viz translated his line to "Maybe I feel more up to it now...?"

Thanks for the images--I don't have the RAWs in front of me, so I was working from my memory. Scratch the heart thing then. The innuendo is still there, though. The verb "yaru" is used pretty frequently in the Japanese text for double entendres.

It's a word that packs several meanings, one of which is "to kill" and another of which is "to have sex with." Hisoka makes a lot of comments like these throughout the series. A poster on another forum (bbsbwk) illustrates another example:

Yes I love the sexual innuendos Togashi packed in Hisoka's dialogues, there's even some in his fighting poses (a recent one in the latest manga comes to mind). The sexual innuendos in his dialogues works best with Japanese's language system, as they would most likely be lost in translation. Japanese borrowed a lot of words from Chinese, but a lot of Chinese words can have multiple meanings, they would also assigned a Japanese reading (Kunyomi) to those Chinese words in a smaller side-note type to put the word into context. That's where a lot of the fun can be hidden. The vocabulary in Hisoka lines would be written in Kanji (Chinese) form that has a certain meaning, yet the hiragana reading assigned to that kanji word would have completely different meaning. That's where a lot of the sexual innuendos comes in.

Hisoka's skills "Bungee Gum" is one example. In the Kanji written form it means "Elastic Love", but the Japanese reading saids "Bungee Gum". Most English translation would just take "Bungee Gum" as the translation, but that means English readers would miss the awesome "Elastic Love" name.

I can think of another recent example is when he threatened to kill Killua, even though the written Kanji word saids 'kill', the 'kunyomi' reading that goes with it didn't use the conventional reading "koroshite". Instead it uses a reading that meant 'violate/rape', and given Hisoka's sexual hand gesture as he made that threat, you put the two into context...

Boo I still haven't have the chance to watch the latest episode yet :(, but I just want to comment on this. I always find it a pity that so much wtf and sexual aspect of Hisoka's character get lost in translation. The major one would be the Bungee Gum vs Elastic Love. Every time he used that skills, seeing the kanji title of 伸縮自在の愛 Elastic Love just bring out a evil smirk on my face. If you were to read it in English, Bungee Gum just doesn't pack the lolness...it just isn't Hisoka enough. For people who can read Japanese, you can get the double meaning simultaneously. I think most people would find 伸縮自在の愛 embarassing to write haha.

And it does raise an eyebrow when he used the word "yaru" (to fuck, to bang), yes he used that same word when referring to killing Killua too. It's even more obvious because Togashi had Hisoka doing the "fuck" hand gesture when mentioning Killua. Basically the character of Hisoka equate sex with fighting/killing, and since most of his opponents are male...that's where the gayness came in.:derp

I like the manga from over here because it always includes both meaning from technique names. Is that the case with US's HxH mangas too?

I love this episode.:D
I did expect that they will censor some stuff in the fight but nevertheless it's good. The sparkling arm actually work in that part.
The highlight of this episode :
1)The part where Gon meet up with Wing and Wing commented on his regeneration ability. This part wasn't included in the manga and I think it was a good touch to show Gon freakish ability in self-healing.
2)The fight itself.Duh.
3)Hisoka being Hisoka.
4)The narrator. I never like the narrator but I think he did a good job at the ending.

The weakness of this episode:
1)Maybe it's just me but some of the audience seem to be frighten and scream when they saw Hisoka's arm was cut off. In the manga ,they were more bloodlust and wanted to see the opponents killed each other. Considering that this is a Hisoka's fight ,you should pretty much expect hella of blood and goriness. So, for some of the audience to scream like a crybaby, it didn't fit.

On an unrelevance note, there wasn't a tapestry on Wing's house wall before right? (The part that cover off the damaged wall)

Overall, good episode.

I actually just checked the manga (English Viz version) and the audience reaction is actually

"Murmur Murmur"

"Whoa!"

"Yikes"

"His arm!"

and their expressions although drawn hastily are clear shocked.

Madhouse was spot on.

Actually aside from the censorship, Madhouse has done a VERY good job of following the manga in this fight. Almost panel for panel.

They always do include both. I'll say it as many times as possible, but English speakers should definitely be following along with the Viz version. You'll pick up on so many more things than if you rely on the online Edited Mangas.

The translation of sound effects is also extremely important in this series. You'll be able to tell whenever (and notice how frequently) Gon quivers with excitement. Also, Nen will make more sense, as different techniques have quite different sound effects.
