^ I was actually thinking about Bleach when I wrote that

The voice actor credits are on the official website:I do. A still can't find who are the voice actors for Gido and Sadaso. They are not mentioned in ANN or Hunterpedia.
Kastro's voice actor turned out to be Tokuyoshi Kawashima.

I do as well. In fact, I'm on pins and needles waiting to hear Maeda's performance as Machi, because she is pretty much unknown, and Machi just happens to be my favorite female character in this series, so an inadequate performance could ruin a lot of my favorite scenes....Does anyone even care or pay attention to this? The Voice actor thing?
I absolutely loved Kuroro's voice, the exact kind of voice to accentuate the fact that he's a born leader - so calm and quiet yet with enough authority to make everybody listen without ever raising his voice. That'll be tough to find a seiyuu that could perform on par with that.I remember liking Spider's Shizuku's voice a lot in the old series, I hope the 2011 can find someone with a unique voice like that. I hope Feitan get a new male voice like Illumi (who's great in the new one). But in general I don't really care for who's who in voice acting, as long as they fit the character. The 1999 series's Hisoka has a memorable and unique voice but it can sound geeky at times, the new Hisoka's voice is more generic and uneven, but when he's good he's good.
That's why other forums are other forums and this one has a collection of users with better judgment. Being they like or they don't, their arguments are always pretty solid. Anyway, it has no point discussing the opinion of others. In another HXH forum, some people say that skipping the whole Kastro vs. Hisoka fight is even better than showing Hisoka's severed hand with no blood!!
Man! Do these people have minds?
We'll see Gye next episode, can't wait.Zushi has scarlet eyes!? [Gyo 1999]

My mental voice for Hisoka is a lot closer to the new voice. The old Hisoka has a very memorable voice, but I could never fit that into my mental image for him. Instead I kept seeing a scrawny Japanese guy with horn rim glasses^I used to have that problem with Hisoka's voice too, but "my mind" already got used to his new one after I re-read the manga. Don't ask me why, though.
who dressed up like Kenichi Mikawa at night.
When the old Hisoka get 'excited', I burst into laughters instead of getting creeped out. The new Hisoka is very good at the smug/amused lines.Yeah yeah yeah but Kastro vs Hisoka isn't one of these leaving-to-imagination throw away battles. I want to be shown NOT told. Hisoka is too big a personality to for that. And I want to see Hisoka's showmanship, I want to see Hisoka in trouble (such a rare moment in the series). The 1999 series' director made a stupid choice in denying the audience that, Togashi already illustrated the fight in details anyway.Sometimes, leaving things unsaid, unspoken, unseen: that is: largely to the imagination is more effective than showing things concretely; this is a concept Togashi understands intimately. Notice how many fights are "off paneled" and the number of characters who have such a reputation without the audience knowing their abilities.
The upcoming events are all out of the loop in the old version. For crying out loud, they made what's supposed to be the final big fight the next one in the old version. It also made some big contradictions. Before reading Hisoka vs. Kastro in the manga, there was something I didn't get about Hisoka's Nen ability, for me it was a big problem. my problem was Hisoka's-fake-spider-tattoo!
When I saw Hisoka removing his tattoo I was like how the hell could he do that?![]()

I only got it when I read the fight in the Manga.
They could have explained how he did it in the old version, but they chose not to, and why? no nobody knows.
Heaven's Arena was for lack of a better term, absolute shit, in the 1999 series. None of it made sense and it caused dozens of plot holes down the line. The only good thing about it is that Furuhashi had mercy and ended the arc quickly. You can just tell that Furuhashi did not care about Gon and Killua all that much and just wanted to get to the Kurapika stuff as quickly as possible. He was nothing short of obsessed with the Kurapika character, so much so that some people I know had believed Kurapika to be the main character from the few eps they watched. It's ridiculous how bad an understanding Furuhashi had of Hunter x Hunter. /End Rage^ You're right, the whole plot was missed up in the old version, censoring the trio's disabilities and skipping Kastro's fight, making the second fight between Gon and Gido meaningless...etc.

I wonder if Madhouse will remain faithful to manga during the arm-fixing/shower sequence. If so will fans of 1999 series complain about the lack of aggressive move Hisoka pull on Machi? How it's so 'disappointing' blah blah?

Kurapika IS Furuhashi's favorite character:Heaven's Arena was for lack of a better term, absolute shit, in the 1999 series. None of it made sense and it caused dozens of plot holes down the line. You think that's bad? Watch Chobits (By the same studio). It was 28 episodes and it had 4 recap episodes. What I hate the most is that in 30 or so episodes we get 2 or 3 filler recap episodes. I can understand when anime is getting close to manga and has to give time for manga to advance, but now with 340 chapters to work with why was that necessary?
