Re: Hunter x Hunter by Togashi Yoshihiro

Yeah I'm with hunter71485, Killua is indeed moving pass the speed of sound.

It'd be very interesting to see a battle between Killua vs. Netero though, through Killua's Kanmaru he could probably dodge Netero's single hit, but what Netero also possesses are the broad attack range as well as multiple hits from multiple angles per launch of attack, hm... overall I think Netero > Killua, but too bad this is all left for my imagination.

Re: Hunter x Hunter by Togashi Yoshihiro

What is to explain? The trick of the attack killua was that the attack materialized the moment it hit. While the attack did appeared instantly, I doubt it was moving that fast to begin with. I don't think the attack itself was faster than the speed of the dart throw from the ant.

Re: Hunter x Hunter by Togashi Yoshihiro

Checked the 3 links? The attack isn't even based on speed. It was materialization. Killua moving faster than a materialized weapon designed to pierce him the moment it appears is proof he's gone lightning speed. The point of appearance is directly on his forehead; that is why he converted his aura into electricity - so the commands his brain issues wouldn't have to pass through his body, but go directly to his fingers. That is how he thought up his nen ability - lightning reflexes. I doubt anyone can even be faster than he is when Kammuru is active.

Materializing on contact with killua does not mean the ability has lighting speed or anything of the sort. Also, note killua did not use his technique to increase his speed then, he used it to increase his reaction time.

Even going by the explanation of what kanmaru does given in the manga it would seem it does not actually increase his speed. It is merely an apparent increase in speed. Kanmaru simply increases his reflexes while also sets his own aura to react to that of the enemy.

I pretty much agree with kkck here, its not that Killua actually has lightning speed but that his reflexes and reaction time have increased dramatically (including what appears to be his hand eye coordination based on the dart that the ant threw). Killua is indeed faster with Kanmuri but from the start Killua's always been fast, case in point is the prison tower the way he ripped the guy's heart out, but with Kanmuri his speed probably did increase in so much as a reaction to his heightened reflexes (it just complemented Killua's speed).

However, Netero's speed is still notches above Killua in the sense that when one looks at the movement of his palms the only thing one sees is after images. He's actually doing many movements at quite a fast speed, think of a propeller on an airplane or an electric fan when you watch it, as compared to Killua who can only so far get in a few hits and movements as he moves quickly that it doesn't necessarily register as an after image. Sure Killua's quick but I do think he's still a notch below the speed of Netero's punch, or in this case punches seeing as its a myriad of attacks in a matter of a few seconds with only a few being visible from the barrage.

Sides I'm sure Netero is just as capable of a lightning strike punch as Killua just that we've never really seen him so far in this arc use just a single punch or attack, its so far always been a volley against the king. But then I'd equate that more to fighting style given that Netero's style appears to overwhelm opponents, trying to obliterate them, while Killua's has been more on efficiency targeting vital points, so its not as if Killua would aim for multiple attacks.

Re: Hunter x Hunter by Togashi Yoshihiro

Killua's going lightning speed, which is ~130,000 mph , depending on ionization of the air which will be plasmafied by the current

his speed is of elemental level, it's a gap that can't be closed by training or sheer power ! that's all there is to it, which is amazing enough.

but in the end, he is nowhere near the strenght of his dad or grandpa's strikes, but the stunning/numbing effect of electricity is a good benefit, no he is really the 2nd hero of this dual-hero shonen manga, no doubt :P

Re: Hunter x Hunter by Togashi Yoshihiro

Actually, I do think killua might be a half decent match for regular top tier fighters -ryodan level, not netero level-. He was already said to have nen comparable to that of a mid level hunter and his electricity allows him to enhance his movement, he should be able to keep up. Roughly the same thing can be said for gon. Their main problem in a nen fight right now would be their inexperience unlike before where on top of that they were worthless powerless rookies fighting adults. Asgon showed before, his main problem would be the awkward movement of nen around his body. Killua should have pretty much the same problem considering his nen skill should be about the same as that of gon -while his physical capacities and techniques are superior to that of gon-. Although, seeing gon's fight against knuckle, perhaps he and killua would still be fodder to high level nen users.....

I think your confusing this with MSN. Killua isnt going lightning speed, but rather using electricity to boost his reflexes.

comment about the current raw:

It seems there truly is nothing that can be done about kaito. It makes sense considering pitou really did behead him some time ago. It is kind of a waste of chapters and plot though, there was so much of the plot built up around kaito being brought back it is kinda anticlimactic he really can't be brought back.

Same here but i know myself to well that I'll read next week spoiler anyway.:p

I hope that Gon will go berserk on Pitou or release his anger towards the King. It's obvious that they will face each other on some point. Pufu and Pitou would try anything of not letting that happen. But now i wonder how he would react, if he sees Palm in her current state?? I have a feeling that, the climax of this arc is about to come.

Not sure if pitou is gonna fight gon right now. Komugi is still held hostage, pitou really can't do much while she is being watched by palm.

This is in no way a waste. I don't even think that they ever mentioned that this would be a success. Didn't they, or at least Killua, say that it might not work? There were two options of this plot line:

1) Kite would be healed and everything would be hunky-dory.
2) Kite would not be healed and Gon goes through a character change.

Number 2 would be the option then. Gon already has issues with death even if they aren't directly related to him, and this is the first time that he will actually have to experience it with someone that was important. He owes a lot to Kite; he's essentially a second father to him. Gon is hopelessly optimistic, and never really had anything to completely demolish his optimism (does he even realize that Netero is gone? Or did he leave before he could be hit with that realization?). This will be very interesting how Togashi writes Gon as a "new" character.

While sure we've already had a strong feeling that nothing could be done to restore Kaito, even more so when considering that Pitou's ability was still in its earlier stages when it "fixed" Kaito (which was obviously quite a lousy job). I don't see it as being anti-climactic or a waste not only because its setting up what Gon's reaction will be, and what change could occur. But I was taken by the way Pitou reacted asking for Gon's name and being honest with him. So far we've had the two guards come to terms with emotions and such now we're also having Pitou show some himself, well other than fear. Which in this case seemed to be honor(?) in being honest to Gon rather than pretending something could be done and attacking him. What I'm just as interested in right now is what will be going on inside Pitou's head as he reflects about Kaito and Gon.

Edit (I'll keep this vague as possible hope its not a spoiler?): After reading the scanned and translated chapter it is even more interesting to note that after the call Pitou did have the chance to take advantage of the situation to kill Gon. Instead he opted to be honest, even say sorry, I'm definitely interested to see how Pitou and Gon will develop.

Re: Hunter x Hunter by Togashi Yoshihiro

1. The only reason why this chapter may seem like a waste is because the pages are limited, we wish to see faster plot development but I think the page numbers used was generous and appropriate. I think all chapters combined for a tankabon will make a very smooth and entertaining read.

2. Gon going through these traumas is what we really call character development, I believe the current storyline is only fractions of plots that will lead to the ultimate climatic end of this arc.

3. It is logical that Kaito couldn't be healed in the first place, I bet most of us had the thought of it also, but the the truth is that we (myself) really wanted to and believed that he could be healed, and while anticipating this whole time as much as Gon himself did, made this chapter quite an awesome one, RIP Kaito, but I'd rather have good storyline than one of those happy ending everybody go home stuff.

4. At this point it's very difficult to predict what'll happen now... I'm just going to wait patiently till next week, Thank you Togashi sensei for keeping this alive...

There is still a chance that Pitou is lying. Because he made the same face when he said i understand. It wasn't a compasionate or terrified face, he didn't even try.

Does anyone know if this is the first time Togashi refered to a soul? Cause i dont remember if he said it before or he is just making something to advance the plot.

I don't think Pitou is necessarily lying about Kaito being dead, again given the condition of Kaito when he was killed (compared to Komugi) along with the level of mastery Pitou had back then with his ability I don't see the part of Kaito being dead as a lie. The odd thing though is that Pitou still could have taken advantage of the situation and faked it, but it is possible that telling the truth could just be as good for leaving an openning as Gon could break down allowing for Pitou to handle him. Compassion or empathy may be a lie, but again its hard to say Pitou was hiding his face the whole time, save when he said sorry and even then tha had the weird background, eitherway looks to be some event tha surprises Palm will happen (maybe Pitou will use Kaito as a weapon? or do something even more unexpected like get killed by Gon in a brutal manner) As for the concept of soul as far as I recall I would say this would be the first time, then again so was the whole medical concept of the brain when Palm was restored.

im not talking about him being dead. I meant that Pitou may (or may not) have the power to bring her back to life. And now that pitou thinks he has the upper hand. he wont bother saving Kaito.

Re: Hunter x Hunter by Togashi Yoshihiro

Just a little thought. When Leorio gets reintroduced, his ability is going to be something to be medically related, more than likely. However, as to what, I don't know. He did have that friend he couldn't save, and is haunted by it. Maybe he will develop an ability where he can restore the dead, but it comes with a price (so you know, the ability won't be broken, haha).

Just a small thought.
