None know what Togashi has, even thinking he has a serious illness is more a reasonable guess/ipothesis than a certainty.

I place my money on 'burnout', or he decided he wanted to live his live less hectic now he's got a rich beautiful wife and children (erm, plural? he's got at least one...).

Note: Togashi works without assistants, and in the last two years, got special privileges from Shueisha (who publishes WSJ) to take more and longer holidays than the other mangaka and he got paid more than they did. Also: he doesn't really need the money anymore, after the huge successes that YYH and HxH were, and marriage left him pretty damn safe on the financial side... XD

I hope and think he'll finish HxH up at some unexpected moment with the Chimaera Ant Arc and then quit drawing manga altogether.

If he IS really sick though, that's an entirely different thing... >.>

If that's the case then give some anime company the green light for making more HxH episodes until the story end. It won't be as good as the manga would have been, but still better than nothing.
And everytime I hear about how he got paid more than other mangaka and how he might quit doing it because of Sailor Moon (whatever her name is) I get pissed and want to cry. HxH must live on.

I would rather there be a manga ending b4 anime cuz i dont want to see it animated before i see the crapy art version >_>.

Togashi isn't sick, he's busy playing Final Fantasy 12. It used to be DQ8, but he's finished that now.

this is my favorite manga hunterxhunter and this is the summary of it :
Gon is a young boy. He lives in an island with his adoptive mother. He used to think that his mother and father were dead in an accident.
But one day, he meets a hunter ( in fact, he was saved by him ). Hunters are people who hunt for treasure, unknown coutries, rare species ... This hunter teaches Gon that his father was not dead and that he is one of the greatest hunter in the world !
So Gon decides to become a hunter to know more about that so wondeful job that can make a father leave his chilren. Gon will meet various people with their own stories ...

this manga is good i mean really good (i'm not a relative of the writer by the way so if i say it's good you can beleve me) but the problem is that the writer hasn't drawn any chapter since 2005(i think ) so if you have any information (sur information please no rumors )than please post it

NOTICE​

Currently the manga is on hiatus for indefinite period of time. The mangaka, Yoshihiro Togashi, is currently on sick leave, which leave the manga on its hiatus state. As for the current time, there is no news about his condition, the date of when he will return or whether he will continue the manga or not.

As for now, please don't keep asking when he will return as there is absolutely no news about that.

The saddest of all is that we did not get to see Gon's father..since the start of the manga he was the one i could not wait to see!And if Gon became so strong in only a while Ging should own the king and his bodyguards.

We saw him briefly sitting on a dinosaur who was sitting on a dinosaur, while he was thinking something about Gon...

Didn't we see him at the end of greed island when Gon used accompany to try and bring Killua to see his dad but he went to Kaito instead then he made the explanation about why Gon went to Kaito instead of him or is that what you're talking about with the dinosaur.

In the manga we saw him on several occasions, yesh. The dinosaur, the part where Razor told Gon of his past and also at the end of Greed Island as you said.
